Abstract

Abstract: The study was conducted to collect data about utilization of medicinalplants the indigenous Rumbio Commnunities from July until August 2015. The resultsare used to developing learning module on the concept of Biological Diversity in theSenior High School Grade X. This study consisted of 2 stage, the first stage is the stageof data collection species of medicinal herbs with survey methods (interviews andobservation). Parameters in this study are the types of medicinal plants in theenvironment of indigenous peoples and utilization of Rumbio Communities. Data wereanalyzed with descriptive methods. The second stage is the development of learningmodule of the first stage of the research results. The second stage development moduleADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) conductedinto 3 stages: analyze, design, development. Results of this study found 73 species of 38families of plants used in traditional medicine in Indigenous Communities Rumbio.Parts of the plant most widely used are the leaves as many as 60 species, habitattraditional medicinal plants are most numerous in the yard as many as 56 species, theefficacy of traditional medicinal plants most, namely to treat gastrointestinal diseases(stomach aches, colds, dysentery, diarrhea and gastritis) as many as 15 species, theprocessing of traditional medicinal plants are most that by boiling as many as 68species, and then how to use traditional medicinal plants are most that by mouth asmuch as 65 species. Results mean learning assessment module validation is valid withthe average assessment is 4.15. Thus, the learning module can be tested on subjects inSenior High School Biology grade X.Keywords: Plant Medicine , Indigenous Rumbio Commnunities, Learning Module.

Abstract

Abstract : Biodiversity materials are many abstract concepts for learners. Learners can only imagine what the teacher says when explaining, so that learners have different responses to the knowledge described by the teacher. In this material, learners tend to only memorize the material alone, so that feel bored in learning and learning passively. The purpose of this research is to Produce Quality of Student Work Sheet (LKPD) with Discovery Learning (DL) Model on Biodiversity Material at grade Xon Senior High School. This research was conducted in Biology Education Program FKIP UR and Senior High School (SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru). The research was conducted onApril 2017 until November 2017. The type of this research is Development Research referring to R & D research approachused the ADDIE Model. There are 3 LKPD developed. The instruments of data collection in this study are LKPD assessment / validation sheets, and response questionnaires. After LKPD was developed, validated by 5 validators and then the first tested on 12 students of Biology Education Program FKIP UR, and the second testedon 20 studentsThe validation result shows that the score of feasibility aspect of the contents of 3 LKPD developed is 3.43 categories is ‘very valid’, the average score of design aspect is 3.48 categories is ‘very valid’, and the pedagogical aspect score is 3.88 categories is ‘very valid’. The average score of all aspects of all three LKPD is 3.41 categories is very valid. The results of the test I showed the average score 3.50 with very ‘good’ category. The results of the second test showed the average score of 3.61 with very ‘good’ category. LKPD with Discovery Learning Model (DL) on biodiversity material in grade X SMA is qualified and feasible to use.Keywords : Development of Student Work Sheet Discovery Learning (DL), Biodiversity

Abstract

Abstract: Biopesticide is the result of extracting certain parts of plants from leaves, fruit, seeds or roots which have compounds that are toxic to pests or organisms that interfere the plants. The basic ingredient used as a biopesticide in this research is red ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of red ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) extract as a biopesticide to pests on spinach plants (Amarantus sp.). This study used a quantitative approach and the type of research was completely randomized design (RAL). The results showed that the effective concentration in the use of biopesticides was at a concentration of 100% with the level of damage being in the mild category with a damage value of 11.66%. The results of the red ginger extract research can be used as a source of learning and the resulting learning media is in the form of a booklet.Key Words: effectiveness of biopesticides, red ginger, spinach plants

Abstract

Abstract: Efforts to increase student interest are with interesting learning media, one of which is Leaflet learning media. This study aims to determine the potential of leaflet design in high school learning for class X Protista material. This research was conducted at the Binawidya Campus, Riau University in August-December 2020. This research was carried out with the ADDIE design, namely the analysis and design stages. The analysis stage is carried out by analyzing the curriculum and analyzing the syllabus issued by the 2013 revised 2018 Ministry of Education and Culture. The design stage consists of designing learning tools, in the form of syllabus, lesson plans and designing leaflets consisting of: Cover, Title of Basic Competence / Main Materials to be achieved, Supporting Information, Learning Resources and Assignments and Assessments. Based on the potential analysis, it was found that the leaflet design for Protista class X KD 3.6. and KD. 4.6 can be used as an alternative learning media. Abstract

Abstract: Research was conducted to determine the characteristics of bacteria on petroleum contaminated soil in the Lirik sub-district as a design of biology learning handouts in senior high schools in January 2019. The results of the study were used to design learning handouts on biology subjects. This research was conducted in two stages, namely the field research stage and the design phase of the learning handout. This type of research is descriptive and carried out by examination in the laboratory. The sampling technique in this study was conducted using a purposive sampling method. The results showed that the characteristics of the bacteria found were white, cream and clear colony. The form of the colony was found to be irregular and round. The edge of the colony is found undulate, wavy, flat and jagged. The elevation of colonies found is flat and arises. The most dominant form of basil bacteria cells is found and other cells form coccus. Gram negative bacteria are the dominant bacteria found and other gram-positive bacteria. The growth of isolates at petroleum concentrations was 2% better with growth until the fifth day of exponents. Isolate 2 is the isolate that gets the highest growth compared to other isolates. The results of this study can be used as a design of biology learning handouts in high schools to enrich teaching materials on the concept of the role of bacteria in life.Key Words: Bacteria, Characteristics, Desaign Handout

Abstract

Abstract: The development of science and technology is so rapid, the world ofeducation is required to produce natural resources and quality education. One way toimprove the quality of education is to use teaching materials. The limitations of existinglearning resources in the form of teaching materials specifically for protists make theteaching and learning process less effective and become an obstacle in achieving protistmaterial, moreover the scope of protist material is quite large with a relatively shortduration of protist material delivery. This study aims to determine the potential of thedesign of the biology module on the protist material for class X senior high school. Thisresearch was conducted at the Bina Widya Campus, Riau University in August -November 2020. The design of this module refers to the ADDIE development modelwhere the stages used are only the analysis and design stages. The analysis stage wascarried out by analyzing the 2013 curriculum and analyzing the learning material.Thedesign stage is done by designing learning tools in the form of a syllabus and lessonplans first and then designing modules. Based on the potential analysis of the researchresults, it can be used as a design for biology modules on special material for plant-likeprotists of class X SMA KD. 3.6 Grouping protists based on general characteristics ofthe class and their role in life and KD 4.6 Presenting reports on the results ofinvestigations about the various roles of protists in life.Key Words: Module, Protista

Abstract

Abstract: Booklet are print media in the form of leaflets or magazines that function as media to convey messages or information. A booklet is a small book that has at least five pages but no more than forty-eight pages outside the cover count. This study aims to determine the potential of booklet design in class X protista high school learning material. This research was conducted at the Binawidya Riau University in August-December 2020. The design of this booklet refers to the ADDIE development model, the stage used is only the analysis and design stage. The analysis stage was carried out by analyzing the 2013 curriculum and analyzing the learning material. Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to know the level of suitability coverage of materials and components of material presentation Plant Classification in Biology textbook of Senior High School 10th Grade with Curriculum 2013 based on standard of BSNP. This research is a descriptive research with content analysis design. The content analysis in this study aims to describe the level of suitability coverage of materials Plant Classification from aspects coverage of material; consists of the breadth of material and the depth of material, and of the component of material presentation; consists of aspects techniques of material presentation, aspects supporting of material presentation, and aspects of learning presentation. Sampling of Biology textbook is conducted with purposive sampling technique, which should contain the concept of plant classification and written based on Curriculum 2013. The instruments used in this research were adopted from the BSNP assessment instruments in evaluating a textbook, by modifying and describing instrument descriptions according to the research objectives. The data collection technique in this study is documentary study. Plant Classification material contained in the Biology Textbook is then analyzed by researchers by analyzing each text, image, and table. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed the percentage suitability of the scope of the Plant Classification material in the book A was 93.59% and book B was 81.13%. While the presentation component of Plant Classification material in the book A is 92.5% and book B is 93.75%. Based on the results it can be concluded that the level of suitability of the scope of the Plant Classification material in the book A is very suitable and book B is suitable. The component of presentation of Plant Classification material in the book A and book B are very good.Key Words: Plant Classification, Coverage of Materials, Components of Material Presentation

Abstract: This study aims to determine the potential of handout design in class X protista high school learning material. This research was conducted at the Binawidya Riau University in August-December 2020. The design of this handout refers to the ADDIE development model, the stage used is only the analysis and design stage. The analysis stage by analyzing the curriculum, syllabus, KD, and the material in accordance with the results of the study. The design stage is designing learning tools in the form of a syllabus and lesson plans, and designing a handout consisting of a cover, foreword, contents, study instructions, (KI, KD, and IPK), introduction, elaboration of subject matter, evaluation, and reference sources. The conclusion is the biology handout design on KD 3.6 and KD 4.6 specifically for protista topic can be used as handout teaching materials for Senior High School student Grade X.Key Words: Handout, Protista

Abstract

Abstract: Research has been carried out which aims to determine the types and benefits of yard plants in Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan and to design a pocket book on the types and uses of yard plants by the community in Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan for high school biology learning. The research was conducted in the community yard of Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan and the PMIPA FKIP UNRI laboratory from March to April 2022. Research data collection was carried out through a preliminary study to the field to determine the state and enviromental conditions in the research location, direct observation to each resident’s house that was used as the research location, interviews with residents, and identification of yard plants. The result of the study were used to design a Biology pocket book for high school students. This handbook is designed for biodiversity materials. The design of the pocket book was carried out in April 2022 until the data collection stage. There are two stages of pocket book design research, namely the analysis stage and the design stage. The analysis phase consists of curriculum analysis and subject material analysis. The design steg includes making lesson plans and designing a pocket book. The conclusions obtained from the results of an inventory of the types and benefits of yard plants by the Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan community as a pocket book design for high school biology learning are the types of plants found around the residents’ yards, namely 20 types of ornamental plants, 5 types of medicinal plants, 23 types of fruit plants, 6 types of spice plants, and 7 types of vegetable plants. In addition, a pocket book design is producet that can be used as an additional reference for Biology learning, especially biodiversity material.Key Words: Yard Plants, Desa Sungai Banyak Ikan, Pocket Book
