Abstract

The role of supervision in education is crucial for fostering teacher professionalism, necessitating a supervision model tailored to teachers' needs. The current supervision models often fall short of meeting these needs and lack efficacy and efficiency. This study aimed to devise a scientific-based academic supervision management model, evaluate its viability, and determine its impact on supervisor competency in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. Using the ADDIE model, a scientific-based academic supervision management model was crafted. Data were gathered through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, involving principals and supervisors in Tulang Bawang Regency. A mixed-methods approach was applied for data analysis. The developed model, encapsulating the principles of Observing, Questioning, Experimenting, Associating, and Communicating (OQEAC), underwent evaluation by experts in content, language, and media, and was found suitable for field testing. Subsequent trials with principals and supervisors in both small and large groups affirmed the model's high effectiveness and its capability to enhance supervisor competence. This research corroborates that the OQEAC model, grounded in scientific principles, significantly improves education supervisors' skills, thereby elevating teaching and learning quality. The OQEAC-based academic supervision represents a potent strategy for augmenting educational quality and empowering teachers to lead learning outcome improvements.

Abstract

The perception of a school represents how society evaluates an institution or organization based on experiences and observations, creating either a positive or negative impression that impacts the institution's sustainability. Students’ interest can be defined as their intrinsic inclination to select the best educational institution, which emerges consciously from within. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic school perception on students’ interest in continuing their education at MAN 1 Lampung Tengah for the 2023/2024 academic year. A quantitative research method was employed, using random sampling techniques and Slovin's formula. The study population comprised 427 tenth-grade students, with a sample size of 207 students. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire with four response options. Validity tests utilized the Pearson Product-Moment correlation, and reliability tests were conducted using Cronbach's Alpha, supported by SPSS software version 20. Data were analyzed through simple linear regression and coefficient of determination. The results revealed a calculated t-value of 4.587 with a significance level of 0.00, while the critical t-value at df = 205 and α = 0.05 was 1.652. Since tcalculated > ttable (4.587 > 1.652) and the significance level of 0.00 < 0.05, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. The correlation coefficient was 0.307 with a constant of 37.458, indicating that a 1% increase in school perception (X) would enhance student interest (Y) by 0.307. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 28.7%, showing that school perception positively influenced students' interest, while the remaining 71.3% was attributed to other factors not examined in this study. In conclusion, the perception of Islamic schools significantly affects students’ interest in continuing their education at MAN 1 Lampung Tengah. These findings underscore the importance of efforts by Islamic schools to build a positive image to enhance their appeal and attract prospective students

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the condition of national and regional leadership in Indonesia through a SWOT approach to map the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that influence the effectiveness of policy formulation and implementation. Using a descriptive qualitative method and document analysis, this study draws on various secondary sources, including national and international policy reports, scholarly articles, academic books, and governance data such as the World Governance Indicators and the Corruption Perceptions Index. The analysis was carried out through data reduction, categorization, synthesis, and source triangulation to ensure information validity. The findings reveal that Indonesian leadership possesses several internal strengths, such as democratic legitimacy through direct elections, a wide and potentially powerful bureaucratic structure, progress in government digitalization, and strong social capital. However, structural weaknesses remain dominant, including political fragmentation, overlapping bureaucratic authorities, disparities in regional capacity, limited use of data in policymaking, and a tendency toward personalized leadership. Externally, Indonesia faces significant opportunities such as the demographic bonus, digital transformation acceleration, increased civil society participation, and international cooperation. Nonetheless, leadership also confronts threats such as global economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions in the Indo-Pacific, political polarization and digital disinformation, widening social inequality, and the risks of natural disasters and environmental crises. The implications of this study emphasize the need for more adaptive, data-driven, and long-term-oriented leadership strategies through strengthened bureaucratic meritocracy, political consolidation, integrated digital governance, and strategic diplomacy in responding to global pressures. The novelty of this research lies in integrating leadership analysis with the SWOT framework into a systematic evaluative model, along with the use of contemporary empirical cases in the post-bureaucratic reform and digital governance era as the basis for strategic mapping. This approach provides a deeper understanding of the strategic position of Indonesian leadership amid increasingly complex global socio-political dynamics and offers relevant policy recommendations for strengthening governance in the future.
