Abstract

This dedication’s to society activity that have been conducted in Pait Village, Kasembon District, Malang take the theme building and strengthening multicultural relations. The method used in dedication to society is the Participation Action Research (PAR) method, taking into account the conditions of assistance in the beginning and the conditions of assistance that are expected. Assistance was carried out in a number of Focus Group Discussions (FGD), socialization and some workshops. Strengthening multicultural relations in the people of Pait Village is very necessary given the diversity of different community backgrounds, especially from the religious aspect. This dedication program has resulted in the formation of a Multicultural Literacy Concern (PLM) community. In addition, the authorship assistance program was also carried out for the community members. Even expanding its influence by spreading their ideas through the website ikipait.com. This assistance resulted in a pretty good web design, displaying the writings of PLM community members. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilakukan di Desa Pait, Kecamatan Kasembon, Kabupaten Malang ini mengambil tema membangun dan menguatkan relasi multikultural. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah metode Participation Action Research (PAR), dengan memperhatikan kondisi dampingan di awal serta kondisi dampingan yang diharapkan. Pendampingan dilakukan dalam beberapa Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan juga dalam bentuk sosialisasi serta pelaksanaan beberapa workshop. Penguatan relasi multikultural pada warga masyarakat Desa Pait sangat diperlukan mengingat keberagaman latar belakang masyarakat yang berbeda, terutama dari aspek agama. Program pengabdian ini menghasilkan terbentuknya komunitas Peduli Literasi Multikultural (PLM) yang berfungsi untuk menguatkan relasi multikultural. Selain itu, juga terlaksana program pendampingan kepenulisan kepada warga masyarakat. Bahkan meluaskan pengaruhnya dengan menyebarkan ide dan gagasan mereka melalui website ikipait.com. Pendampingan ini menghasilkan desain web yang cukup baik, dengan menampilkan tulisan-tulisan karya anggota komunitas PLM.

Abstract

Abstrak: A song is one of the literary works that became a part of social life representation. This research discus about “the sadness” in the song titled Ya Quds by Nawal Az-Zaghbi with sociological approach of literary work. This song tells about expressions of sadness occurred in Yarussalem society because of unendless war that caused many damages. The theme of the song is about nationalism in idealism and culture in sacrifice. The research question in this research is how the lament of sadness is contained in the song Ya Quds by Nawal az-Zaghbi according to George Lucass. This research uses descriptive qualitative method which explains a research by words with explanation that defines how the condition is. The purpose of this research is to describe how the threnodies of sadness occurred in Yarussalem society, either the sadness of decay or the sadness of pain. The data in this research is known by sociological theory of literary work which assumes that literary work is a result of the real condition of society and representation of their live. Depends on this research, it is concluded that expressions occurred in the song Ya Quds is what happened in Yarussalem society. Yarussalem society who are sad because of lossing their family and missing to the peaceful of their country.  Kata Kunci : The Sadness, Song of Ya Quds, George Lucas

Abstract

The period of Arab literature was divided into the political age, the pre-Islamic period, the Islamic era, the Umayyad era, the Abbasia era, the Andalusian era, the era of the Mamalik, and the modern era. Because of the Umayyah caliphate and the Abbasia caliphate, the long period of politics extends. Political problems emerged from within the caliphate and therefore have a lot to do with Arab literature. The researcher used the descriptive and historical method. The result of this research on the characteristics of the Arabic literature in the period between the Umayyah and Abbasia Caliphate, are: 1) The poetry expresses the conditions obtained from the historical facts of war, 2) encouraging in its later stages, 3) the use of clear words and structures in the body Poem and poetry.Keywords: Arab literature, period of transition of government, Umayyah caliphate, Abbasih caliphate

Abstract

This study aims to describe, analyze the cause, and offer some alternative solutions to the problem of Arabic pronunciation disorders in the students of the madrasah ibtidaiyah in Malang city. With the consideration that the earlier the problem of pronunciation disorders in madrassa students is known, the sooner the cause and solution can be known. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive analysis method, with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The results obtained in this study are a) there are four types of Arabic pronunciation disorders in madrasah ibtidaiyah’s students in Malang city, namely: omission, substitution, distortion and addition. The most numerous forms are omissions, and the least are additions; b) there are three factors that cause pronunciation disorders in students of madrasah ibtidaiyah in Malang city: psychiatric factors, physical factors and social factors; c) the solutions that can be used to overcome pronunciation disorders in students also involve three factors: psychiatric factors, physical factors, social factors, and learning factors.

Abstract

This community service aims to build a perception of Islamic family relations for the administrators of Mahad Sunan Ampel Al-Aly Malang.  This is very important to do because today's millennial generation really needs coaching related to building husband and wife relationships in the family.  Coaching program to the administrators of Mahad Sunan Ampel Al-Aly is a very strategic step, because they will pass on this perception to the students whoare  under their responsibility. This community service is carried out with two cycles of Participatory Action Research (PAR) methods that manifests in two main activities, namely focus goup discussions together with the management of Mahad Sunan Ampel Al-Aly and implementing pre-marital training.  From the pre-marital training conducted, 64.1% increased the perception of Islamic family relations in the administrators of Mahad Sunan Ampel Al-Aly Malang. In addition, a joint commitment was also produced as a follow-up to activities in the form of delivering training materials to  the assisted students of each participant.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the various forms and functions of the illocutionary speech acts that contained in the Kāmil Kīlānī’s short story Lu’lu’at al-Ṣabāḥ. This research uses pragmatic approaches in descriptive qualitative studies. Using reading and taking notes as data collection techniques, and data reduction, data presentation techniques and making conclusion as data analysis techniques. The results of this study showed that there are five forms of speech act contained in conversations between the short story’s characters of Lu’lu’at al-Ṣabāḥ by Kāmil Kīlānī, namely assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declaration. The details are that there are 10 assertive speeches, 10 directive speeches, 2 commissive speeches, 1 expressive speech, and 1 declarative speech. And there are 11 functions of illocutionary speech act contained in the short story Lu’lu’at al-Ṣabāḥ by Kāmil Kīlānī: there are 2 speech functions of explaining, 3 speech functions of stating, 2 speech functions of telling, 3 speech functions of affirming, 4 speech function of advising, 4 speech function of requesting, 2 speech function of warning, 2 speech function of offering and threating, 2 speech function of sadness and setting.

Abstract

Caricatures are one of the effective ways to convey information, messages, and criticism because it considered more attractive. This study aims to identify the kind of sign present in the caricatures about the murder of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh on the Instagram @hajjaj_cartoons account and describe its sign interpretation. This qualitative and descriptive research obtained the data sources from caricatures about the murder of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh on the Instagram account @hajjaj_cartoons, and news stories relevant to this tragedy. These two data sources are collected by observation, screenshot, and take notes technique, and analyzed using Peirce's semiotic theory. The results are found: (1) There are 16 icons, 9 indexes, and 13 symbols; (2) the interpretations are about criticism and condemnation of the murder of Shireen Abu Akleh, Israel's act of not wanting to admit her actions that killed Shireen Abu Akleh, the actions of Israeli police attacking mourners during the funeral process of Shireen Abu Akleh, and the U.S. action declaring Israel innocent of the shooting of Shireen Abu Akleh.

Abstract

The ceasefire proposal between Israel and Palestine shocked the world's residents because of the pros and cons of several related parties. Israel and Hamas as the target parties showed different responses to the proposal agreement presented by President Biden in his speech. So, this research is certainly considered interesting because it concerns the most important world phenomenon that has succeeded in shaking the global community. This research uses a qualitative method that aims to describe and analyze the discourse on this ceasefire proposal with the reactions of certain parties as stated in the Al-Arabiya news text based on Teun van Dijk's critical discourse analysis through the text dimension. The results showed the following data findings: 1) macrostructure (theme); 2) superstructure (scheme) includes summary (title and lead) and story (comment and situation); 3) microstructure four studies include semantic (background, detail, intent, presupposition, and nominalization), syntax (sentence form, coherence, and pronoun), stylistic (lexicon), and rhetoric (graphic, metaphor, and expression). The three structures have various elements with their characteristics to form the entire discourse content cohesively and relate to each other. Especially in the title and lead of the discourse, Al-Arabiya journalists have indirectly summarized the responses of those who accept or reject President Biden's statement after understanding the news content.

Abstract

The song Falasthin Biladiy by Humood AlKhudher emerged from the context of the Palestinian people's resistance in their struggle for independence and national identity. This study aims to examine how patriotic values are represented in the lyrics of the song, using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach, focusing on two levels of meaning is denotation and connotation. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method with the Miles and Huberman data analysis model, which includes data condensation, data presentation, drawing conclusion and verification. The findings reveal that the song’s lyrics successfully represent eight forms of patriotic values, including Love of country, Solidarity of unity, Willing to sacrifice, the spirit of resistance, among others. The lyrics function as a medium for expressing collective awareness and constructing national identity through powerful narrative and poetic symbolism. This research is centered on textual analysis without directly examining the listeners’ responses or reception. Therefore, this study contributes to the field of semiotics and cultural analysis, particularly in understanding how contemporary Arabic music texts serve as symbolic communication media within political and national discourse.
