Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar belakang: Prevalensi stunting di Indonesia pada tahun 2019 sebesar 27,6%, lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan target penurunan dalam lingkup nasional yaitu 19%. Stunting pada balita mempunyai dampak jangka panjang seperti produktivitas yang kurang, kemampuan kognitif yang rendah, dan kenaikan berat badan yang berlebih. Rendahnya asupan zat gizi merupakan salah satu faktor risiko terjadinya stunting, sehingga kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan asupan energi, protein, zat besi, dan seng terhadap kejadian stunting pada balita di Indonesia.Metode: Kajian ini menggunakan literature review. Penelusuran artikel dilakukan melalui jurnal, laporan, dan prosiding dalam 10 tahun terakhir. Ditemukan 606 studi dan diseleksi sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi. Berdasarkan 606 studi didapatkan 40 studi yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi untuk dilakukan kajian.Hasil: Berdasarkan  studi yang dilakukan di beberapa wilayah di Indonesia menunjukkan prevalensi stunting paling tinggi pada tahun 2019 di Nusa Tenggara Timur sebesar 43,82%. Hasil telaah menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara asupan energi, protein, zat besi, dan seng yang rendah terhadap kejadian stunting. Studi menjelaskan asupan energi berisiko 16,71 kali, asupan protein berisiko 26,71 kali, asupan zat besi berisiko 4 kali, dan asupan seng berisiko 9,24 kali lebih besar terhadap kejadian stunting.Simpulan: Asupan zat gizi pada daerah di Indonesia masih rendah, pada umumnya disebabkan karena konsumsi sumber karbohidrat, protein hewani, dan pengetahuan ibu mengenai pola pemberian makan yang masih rendah. Sehingga diperlukan pemantauan status gizi secara berkala dan memperkuat program pencegahan stunting seperti edukasi kepada ibu mengenai pola pemberian makan pada balita.ABSTRACT Title: Macronutrient and Mineral Intake Associated with Stunting among Indonesian Toddlers: A Literature ReviewBackground: The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 2019 is 27,6%, higher than the target of the national reduction of 19%. Stunting has long-term impacts such as less productivity,  cognitive ability, and the risk of chronic disease. Low nutrient intake is one of the risk factors of stunting. This study aims to identify the relationship of energy, protein, iron, and zinc intake with stunting among Indonesian toddlers.Method: This study uses the literature review method. The article search is conducted through journals, reports, and proceedings in the last 10 years. The search result from the article found 606 studies and selected according to the criteria of inclusion. Based on 606 studies obtained 40 studies that meet the criteria of inclusion for review.Result: Based on the result of the literature review in Indonesia showed the highest prevalence of stunting in 2019 in East Nusa Tenggara is 43.82%. The results showed a significant correlation between low energy, protein, iron, and zinc intake with stunting. The study describes low protein intake to be the nutrient intake most associated with stunting, followed by energy, zinc, and iron intake. Risk factors of nutrient intake were 2,52-16,71 times due to low energy intake, 1,6-26,71  times due to low protein intake, 2,87-4  times due to low iron intake, and 1,29-9,24  times due to low zinc intake.Conclusion: Low intake of energy, protein, iron, and zinc has a significant relationship with stunting among Indonesian toddlers. Low protein intake is the most associated nutrient intake for stunting under five.Keywords: Stunting, nutrient intake, toddler

Abstract

Latar belakang: Obesitas merupakan kondisi akumulasi lemak berlebih yang diakibatkan konsumsi makanan yang melebihi kebutuhan dan berdampak buruk bagi kesehatan seperti resistensi insulin dan kematian. Prevalensi obesitas di Indonesia sebesar 21,8% dengan persentase obesitas di Jawa Tengah masih berada di atas capaian yaitu sebesar 6,32%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan kebiasaan sarapan dengan kejadian obesitas.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian observasional dengan desain cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara daring melalui sosial media meliputi instagram, twitter dan whatsapp dengan perhitungan sampel didapatkan 100 mahasiswa aktif tingkat sarjana. Variabel pada penelitian ini meliputi frekuensi sarapan, tingkat kecukupan energi, keragaman jenis pangan, dan obesitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis univariat dan bivariat dengan menggunakan uji chi-square dan fisher exact test. Hasil: Tingkat kecukupan gizi pada mahasiswa didapatkan tingkat kecukupan karbohidrat, lemak dan protein yang lebih sebesar 58%, 71% dan 89%. Sedangkan tingkat kecukupan serat mahasiswa yang cukup sebesar 50%. Hasil penelitian ini menggambarkan mahasiswa dengan tingkat kecukupan energi saat sarapan yang lebih cenderung tidak obesitas dibandingkan mahasiswa dengan tingkat kecukupan energi saat sarapan yang cukup.Simpulan: Penelitian ini menyimpulkan terdapat hubungan tingkat kecukupan energi dengan kejadian obesitas yang berarti semakin besar tingkat kecukupan energi sarapan maka mahasiswa cenderung tidak obesitasKata kunci: asupan sarapan, obesitas, mahasiswa ABSTRACTTitle: Correlation of Breakfast Intake on Adequacy of Nutrition and Incidence of Obesity in Students in Central JavaBackground: Obesity is a condition of excess fat accumulation caused by food consumption that exceeds needs and has a negative impact on health such as insulin resistance and death. The prevalence of obesity in Indonesia is 21.8% with the percentage of obesity in Central Java still above the achievement of 6.32%. This study aims to analyze the relationship between breakfast habits and the incidence of obesity.Methods: This study uses quantitative research with the type of observational research with a cross sectional design. Sampling was carried out online through social media including Instagram, Twitter and WhatsApp with a sample calculation of 100 active undergraduate students. The variables in this study include the frequency of breakfast, the level of energy adequacy, the diversity of food types, and obesity. This study used univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test and fisher's exact test.Results: The level of nutritional adequacy in students obtained levels of carbohydrate, fat and protein adequacy more than 58%, 71% and 89%. Meanwhile, the adequacy level of student fiber is 50%. The results of this study illustrate that students with sufficient energy levels at breakfast are more likely to be less obese than students with sufficient energy levels at breakfast.Conclusion: This study concludes that there is a relationship between the level of energy adequacy and the incidence of obesity, which means that the greater the level of energy adequacy for breakfast, the students tend not to be obese.Keywords: breakfast intake, obesity, college students

Abstract

ABSTRAK Indeks Gizi Seimbang (IGS) pada masyarakat di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi pangan masyarakat belum sesuai dengan pedoman gizi seimbang. Konsumsi masyarakat yang belum sesuai dengan gizi seimbang dapat disebabkan karena adanya faktor rendahnya pengetahuan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan edukasi terkait IGS untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik yang lebih baik. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik yang baik terakit indeks gizi seimbang pada kader posyandu sehingga kader dapat menerapkan konsumsi pangan yang sesuai dengan pedoman gizi seimbang dan dapat menyampaikan kepada masyarakat. Program pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan dengan pendekatan pada kader untuk melakukan edukasi dengan metode ceramah dan menggunakan media booklet serta powerpoint. Kegiatan dimulai dengan pemberian pre test kemudian pemberian edukasi dilanjutkan dengan sesi tanya jawab dan diakhiri dengan pemberian post test. Jumlah peserta edukasi sebanyak 20 kader posyandu di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Sumowono. Rata-rata skor pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik subjek sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan edukasi mengalami peningkatan. Rata-rata skor pengetahuan subjek sebelum dilakukan edukasi adalah 7,74 dan setelah dilakukan edukasi skornya menjadi 8,63 (p=0,466). Rata-rata skor sikap subjek sebelum dilakukan edukasi adalah 5,47, sesudah edukasi skornya 6,63 (p=0,160). Skor praktik subjek sebelum dilakukan edukasi adalah 5,47 sedangkan setelah nya menjadi 9,00 (p=0,003). Tidak terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan dan sikap setelah dilakukan edukasi Indeks Gizi Seimbang, namun terdapat perbedaan praktik kader setelah dilakukan edukasi IGS. Kata Kunci: Edukasi, IGS, Kader, Booklet, Gizi Seimbang, Sumowono  ABSTRACT Healthy Eating Index (HEI) for people in Indonesia is still relatively low. This shows that people's food consumption is not following balanced nutrition guidelines. Community consumption that is not yet by balanced nutrition is caused by a factor of low knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out education related to HEI to increase knowledge, attitudes, and better practices. This community service activity aims to increase knowledge, attitudes, and good practices regarding the balanced nutrition index for posyandu cadres so that cadres can consume food according to balanced nutrition guidelines and can convey it to the community.  The community service program is carried out with an approach to cadres to conduct education using the lecture method using booklets and PowerPoint media. The activity began with giving a pre-test then giving education followed by a question and answer session and giving a post-test at the end of the activity. The number of participants was 20 posyandu cadres in the working area of the Sumowono Health Center.  The average score of knowledge, attitudes, and practice subjects before and after education has increased. The average score of subject knowledge before education was 7.74 and after education, the score was 8.63 (p=0.466). The average score of the subject's attitude before education was 5.47, after education the score was 6.63 (p=0.160). The subject's practice score before the education was 5.47 while after that it was 9.00 (p=0.003).  There were no differences in knowledge and attitudes after education on the Health Eating Index, but there were differences in cadre practices after HEI education Keywords: Education, HEI, Cadres, Booklets, Balanced Nutrition, Sumowono

Abstract

ABSTRAK Air Susu Ibu (ASI) merupakan makanan terbaik untuk bayi. Pemerintah telah mencanangkan program ASI Eksklusif, namun terdapat permasalahan yaitu ibu belum memberikan ASI Eksklusif pada bayinya karena kurangnya pemahaman Ibu mengenai teknik menyusui yang benar. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu menyusui tentang cara pemberian ASI pada bayi yang baik dan benar sehingga ibu dapat menerapkannya agar proses menyusui dapat berjalan dengan lancar dan cakupan pemberian ASI Eksklusif dapat meningkat. Program pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan dengan pendekatan pada ibu menyusui untuk melakukan edukasi menggunakan booklet tentang pemberian ASI pada bayi yang baik dan benar. Kegiatan dimulai dengan pemberian pre test kemudian pemberian edukasi dilanjutkan dengan sesi tanya jawab dan diakhiri dengan pemberian post test. Jumlah peserta edukasi sebanyak 10 ibu menyusui di Desa Dangkel. Monitoring dan evaluasi terkait peningkatan pengetahuan dari ibu kaitannya dengan edukasi dan pendampingan dilakukan dari bagian gizi FKM UNDIP. Rata-rata pengetahuan ibu menyusui mengenai ASI dan pemberian ASI sebelum dilakukan edukasi adalah 70 dengan skor terendah 50 dan skor tertinggi 90. Setelah diberikan materi terdapat kenaikan pengetahuan ibu dilihat dari kenaikan rata-rata pengetahuan ibu menjadi 96 dengan skor terendah 80 dan skor tertinggi 100. Pengetahuan ibu menyusui setelah diberikan edukasi mengalami peningkatan dilihat dari skor yang diperoleh sebelum dan sesudah edukasi. Kata Kunci: Edukasi, Booklet, ASI , Pengetahuan Ibu  ABSTRACT Breast milk is the best food for babies. The government has launched an exclusive breastfeeding program, but several mothers have not given exclusive breastfeeding to their babies due to the mother's lack of understanding regarding proper breastfeeding technique. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of breastfeeding mothers about how to properly breastfeed their babies, so that mothers can apply it, the breastfeeding process can run smoothly, and the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding increase. The community service program is carried out with an approach to breastfeeding mothers to educate using booklets about the properly of breastfeeding for babies. The activity began with giving a pre test then giving education followed by a question and answer session and giving a post test in endline of the activity. The number of participants who involved this activity were 10 breastfeeding mothers in Dangkel Village. Monitoring and evaluation related to increasing knowledge from mothers in relation to education and assistance is carried out from the nutrition department of FKM UNDIP. The average knowledge of breastfeeding mothers about breastmilk and breastfeeding before education was 70 with the lowest score was 50 and the highest score was 90. After being given the material there was an increase in breastfeeding mother’s knowledge seen from the increase in the average knowledge of breastfeeding mothers to 96 with the lowest score was 80 and highest score was 100. Knowledge of breastfeeding mothers after being given education has increased as seen from the scores obtained before and after education. Keywords: Education, Booklets, Breastfeeding, Mother's Knowledge

Abstract

Background: Physical fitness or cardiorespiratory fitness is associated with a person's ability to perform activities or activities effectively and without excessive fatigue. Results of the survey by a team of developers Sport Development Index (SDI) in 2005 shows the level of physical fitness elementary school across Indonesia are comparatively low. Objective: To determine the relationship between energy intake and physical activity with the physical fitness of students from SD-IT Albina Purwakarta in school year 2016 Methods: This study used cross-sectional design with stratified random sampling and systematic random sampling methods in the sampling process.A numberof 33 students from class V SD-IT Albina Purwakarta participated in this study. Data of physical activity was measured using 24-hour recall physical activity, energy intake using 24-hour recall, and physical fitness using the Harvard Step Test.Data analysis using Pearson Product Moment and Rank-Spearman test. Result: Energy intake of the majority of respondents (54.5%) fall into the category deficits, physical activity all respondents (100%) is relatively light and the physical fitness of the respondents (81.8%) included in the low category. There was no significant association between energy intake and physical activity with physical fitness (p=0,413; p=0,297). Conclusion: There was no significant association between energy intake and physical activity with physical fitness.

Abstract

Background: Muscle strength is very important to do activities, not exception for school-aged children. It’s influenced by characteristics of the subject, nutrient intake, and physical activity. Objective: To analyze the correlation between subject’s characteristic, nutrient intake, and physical activity with muscle strength of school-age children in Purwakarta Regency. Method: This study used cross sectional design. Subjects of the study were the students of Junior High School 5 Purwakarta which amounted to 44 people. Muscle strength was measured using a Hand Dynamometer, lean body mass (LBM) using Bio Impedance Analysis (BIA), nutritional intake using a 2x24 hour Food Recall Form, and physical activity using a 24-hour Physical Activity Recall Form. Data analysis using Pearson Product Moment and Mann-Whitney Test. Result: Most of subjects' physical activity was mild (75%). There is no correlation between age (p = 0,228); gender (p = 0,102); LBM (p = 0.350); total energy (p = 0.770); carbohydrate intake (p = 0.968); protein (p = 0.663); sodium (p = 0.890); potassium (p = 0.737); calcium (p = 0.768); magnesium (p = 0,800); and physical activity (p = 0,682) with muscle strength of subjects. Conclusion: There is no correlation between subject’s characteristics, nutrient intake, and physical activity with muscle strength.

Abstract

Background: Physical fitness levels of students can maximize their mind and energy for school activities. Running speed is part of physical fitness. Nutrition is one of the biological factors that influence in supporting fitness .. Adequacy of nutrients, especially macro nutrients as a source of energy and micro nutrients is closely related to the pattern of consumption. To maintain nutritional adequacy, nutritional structuring needs to be done, including the improvement of nutritional status, maintenance of nutritional status, nutrition matching and recovery of nutritional status. Objective: Analyzing factors related to the speed of running students of class VII junior high school. Method: The type of this research is cross sectional research with purposive sampling technique. The number of samples is 42 students of class VII junior high school 5 Purwakarta. Data analysis was performed by Rank-spearman test technique. Result: There is a significant relationship between energy sufficiency level, protein adequacy level and carbohydrate adequacy level with running speed with p value <0,05. There was no significant relationship between fat sufficiency level, intake of Fe, calcium intake, potassium intake, sodium intake, intake of Zink and magnesium intake with runway rate with p> 0,05 . Conclusion: The level of energy adequacy, the level of protein adequacy and the level of carbohydrate adequacy associated with running speed. The level of fat sufficiency, intake of Fe, calcium intake, potassium intake, sodium intake, intake Zink and magnesium intake not related to the level of running speed.

Abstract

Background: High prevalence of anaemia among pregnant women in Indonesia increasing risk of giving birth to low birth weight babies (LBW) and premature. The prevalence of anaemia among pregnant women in Purwakarta Regency was 65% in 2016, whereas in Jatiluhur Health Center reach 5,4%. Objective: Analyze factors that influence the incidence of anaemia among pregnant women in Jatiluhur, Purwakarta. Method: This research used case control design. Subjects were 34 anaemia pregnant women in Jatiluhur Subdistrict, Purwakarta Regency. Data collection using a questionnaire containing questions about characteristics of respondents, distance of the pregnancy, level of education, antenatal care (ANC) visit, knowledge, and adherence of Fe consumption. Analysis data using Chi-Square test. Result: Factors that influence the incidence of anaemia in pregnant women were age (p=0,002, OR=1,956), iron intake (p=0,006, OR=0,16), level of education (p=0,020, OR=0,07), knowledge (p=0,001, OR=1,266), and ANC visit (p=0,001, OR=2,04) whereas the distance of pregnancy (p=0,619, OR=0,942), protein intake (p=0,493, OR=1,193), parity (p=0,494, OR=1,060), LILA (p=0,086, OR=0,658) and adherence of Fe consumption (p=0,0571, OR=0,07) have no influence with the incidence of anaemia in pregnant women. Conclusion: Factors that influence the incidence of anaemia in pregnant women in Jatiluhur Subdistrict Purwakarta Regency were iron intake, age, level of education, knowledge, and ANC visit.

Abstract

Background: Prevalence of pregnant women with iron deficiency anemia in Indonesia reach 37.1% in 2013. Consumption of additional food containing iron (Fe) can be prevention alternative for iron deficiency anemia on pregnant women. One of a kind additional food containing iron (Fe) with affordable price is red kidney beans biscuit. Objective: To developt biscuits containing iron (Fe) and find the effects of red beans addition on the acceptance and the iron (Fe) content of biscuit. Method: First stage of this study were the production and formulation of red bean biscuits. The second stage was analysis (acceptability test and iron content test) of selected biscuit from first stage. The study design used a Completely Randomize Design (CRD) with 1 factor and 3 treatments of different red beans addition (20%, 50% and 80%). Results: Red kidney beans addition didn’t have an effect on the flavour (p=0.539) and taste (p=0.237) parameters of biscuits, but had on the colour parameter (p=0.028). Most preferred biscuits color was sample A1 (wheat flour : red bean flour comparison 80% : 20%) with 96.67% panelist like it (29 out of 30 people). Red kidney beans addition had no effect on the iron (Fe) content of biscuit (p=0.368). Conclusion: The addition of red kidney beans didn’t affect on the acceptability, iron content, flavour, and taste parameters, but only had on colour parameter of biscuits.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is characterized by changes in body composition caused by hormonal conditions and lifestyle. These conditions have an influence on the pattern of food intake consumed by adolescents. Objective: To describe and analyze the correlation of nutritional intake and body composition of adolescents. Method: This study used cross sectional design. Subjects of the study were adolescents in Purwakarta Regency which selected randomly amounted to 44 people. Nutritional intake data used Food Recall Form 2x24 hours and body composition measurement used Bio Impedance Analysis (BIA). Data analysis used Rank Spearman Test. Results: Mean of subjects’s body weight and lean body mass (LBM) were 43.7±8.6 kg, 33.8±5.2 kg, respectively. Most of level of energy intake of subjects were less (59.1±37.8%), so did calcium (159.4±502.9 mg). Intake of energy, carbohydrate, protein, and fat correlated with body composition of subjects (p<0.05), while intake of iron (Fe), calcium (Ca), Potassium (K), Sodium (Na), Magnesium (Mg), and Zinc (Zn) not sigificantly correlated with body composition of subjects (p>0.05). Zn was being the only micronutrient which correlated to fat mass (p=0.032). Conclusion: Macronutrients have significantly correlated with body composition among adolescents in Purwakarta Regency.
