Abstract

Waktu Dalam Lipatan is a work of dance that is inspired from the social phenomenon of deadline. Waktu Dalam Lipatan is defined as the activity of multiplying or minimizing the dimensions of an existing form, or can be equated with a time-bound understanding, which means an activity shortens the distance of time by increasing the speed or shortening the duration that already exists. Focusing on the element of attitudes on the psychological individual in a person undergoing a deadline process, related to the utilization of time is not good. In this dance, in addition to the body as the main media of dance, choreographer uses a companion media to strengthen the concept of presentation of works, one of which is a dance property. The dance property becomes part of the body's response in the delivery of these motion patterns. This article will analyze to what extent the existence of a dance property in the work "Waktu Dalam Lipatan" affects and reinforces the concept of the work.Keywords: choreography, dance properties, semiotics analysis

Abstract

ABSTRACT Several cultural aspects are noticeably clear in human’s behavior and explicitly its manifestation in people’s culture and knowledge can be tangible in customary law, traditions believed by its group of people. Art becomes the part of a culture that exists in society can be the reflection of that region cultural values so usually, the backgrounds of attainments created are cultural activities and people’s condition in a region. Serampang Dua Belas dance in North Sumatera is one of the examples of artwork that represents local culture. This dance was created by Guru Sauti in the 1940s and recreated by its creator between 1950 until 1960. Nowadays, the existence of Serampang Dua Belas dance becomes a very popular dance North Sumatera and it also has been made as national dance in Indonesia. In North Sumatera, the popularity of Serampang Dua Belas dance has become the belonging of all ethnicities in North Sumatera, even though the backgrounds of that dance are the activity and philosophy of Malay cultural values as one of the ethnicities existed in North Sumatera.            Therefore, the writer tries to study aesthetic value found in Serampang Dua Belas dance through the approach of multiculturalism. Abstract

Artikel ini adalah bagian dari hasil penelitian terkait proses kreatif koreografi di Aceh Besar. Diperlukan pengetahuan secara teori dan praktik mendasar untuk pengelolaan gerak sebagai media ungkap tari. Penelitian yang dilakukan di Aceh Besar membahas permasalahan daya kreativitas mencipta motif gerak dalam kajian koreografi garap bentuk. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualititif dengan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan (action research). Mengidentifkasi masalah khusus dan menentukan tindakan sebagai solusi masalah tersebut. Tahapan penelitian antara lain : perencanaan (planning), pelaksanaan (acting), pemantauan (monitoring atau observing), pelatihan terpadu dan penilaian (reflecting atau evaluating). Tindakan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan pengelolaan unsur-unsur gerak tari, kajian koreografi garap bentuk. Menjalin kegiatan kemitraan dengan Bidang Kebudayaan, Dinas Pendidikan dan kebudayaan Aceh Besar untuk melaksanakannya. Menggabungkan 2 (dua) teknik dalam pelaksanaan pelatihan, yaitu : penyampaian materi secara teori dan mendemonstrasikan secara praktik. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi untuk meningkatan kreativitas dalam pengelolaan gerak sebagai substansi dasar tari bagi para pelaku seni tingkat SMP, SMA/SMK maupun komunitas seni di Aceh Besar. Kedepannya peserta pelatihan diharapkan mampu menghasilkan karya-karya seni inovatif dalam peningkatan perkembangan seni tari di Aceh.This article is part of the results of research related to the creative process of choreography in Aceh Besar. Knowledge is needed in theory and fundamental practice for the management of motion as a medium for expressing dance. Research conducted in Aceh Besar discusses the issue of the power of creativity to create motion motives in the study of choreography in terms of form. This type of research is qualitative research using action research methods. Identify specific problems and determine actions as a solution to the problem. Stages of research include: planning, implementation (acting), monitoring or observing, integrated training and assessment (reflecting or evaluating). The action was carried out in the form of training in the management of the elements of dance movement, the study of choreography in the form. Establish a partnership with the Culture field of Aceh Besar Education and Culture Office to implement it. Combining 2 (two) techniques in the implementation of the training, namely: delivering material theoretically and demonstrating in practice. This research is expected to contribute to increasing creativity in the management of motion as the basic substance of dance for junior and senior high school / vocational arts practitioners and the arts community in Aceh Besar. In the future the training participants are expected to be able to produce innovative works of art in improving the development of dance in Aceh.

Abstract

Saman and Bines dance is a traditional art from Gayo Lues, a very inherent existence in the supporting community as a dance that is specifically danced by men for Saman and women for Bines. In this article, the author describes the presentation of the arts at the Bejamu Saman cultural event. As a cultural heritage, the presentation of Saman and Bines in Bejamu Saman activities is the focus of research, how to present Saman and Bines in Bejamu Saman cultural events. This research uses qualitative methods, namely data that has been collected in the field regarding the Saman and Bines dance on Bejamu Saman activities and other data related to the object and focus of the research. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively-analytically with a textual analysis approach. The purpose of this research was to describe the presentation form of the Saman and Bines dance in Bejamu Saman activities. So that the results of this research can be used as supporting material in future Saman and Bines dance research. Understand the differences in the presentation of Saman and Bines as a spectacle and or as a series of cultural activities. Obtain information related to Bejamu Saman, a cultural event of the Gayo Lues community that represents the social identity of the Gayo Lues community in a reflection of the nation's character.

Abstract

Luambek adalah  seni pertunjukan yang diakui sebagai salah satu bentuk seni untuk mensahkan keberadaan Penghulu yang baru diberi gelar Datuk pada masyarakat Sicincin di Minangkabau. Sebagai salah satu bentuk seni pertunjukan, luambek tidak dibolehkan tampil jika tidak seizin ninik mamak (Penghulu) kaum dalam adat masyarakat Sicincin tersebut, sehingga untuk mempertunjukkannya ia memiliki aturan – aturan yang harus dijalankan. Tempat pertunjukan, para pemain, dan waktu pertunjukan merupakan triangle yang tidak bisa dipisahkan satu dengan yang lainnya. Konsep buluih menjadi patokan utama untuk mengharumkan nama baik kaum. Menggunakan data kualitatif, tulisan ini disajikan secara analisis deskriptif

Abstract

Drop Daruet dance as a legacy of regional cultural events still exists today. The purpose of this study was to determine the existence of the Drop Daruet dance in the modernization era, to determine the efforts to preserve the Drop Daruet dance. The research location is in the Cut Nyak Dhien Meligoe studio, the Governor of Aceh. This type of research is a qualitative research with a case study method. The main data sources were obtained from interviews with informants, while other data sources were obtained from observation and documentation study. Data collection techniques used observation and in-depth interviews with informants (administrators, coaches, dancers, musicians and the community). The analysis technique uses an interactive data analysis model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the Drop Daruet dance is a traditional folk dance that is not widely known by the public and there is little information about the existence of this dance. Drop Daruet dance is defined as an art form that has roots and is felt as its own by the Cut Nyak Dhien Meuligoe studio, the Governor of Aceh or its environment. The efforts made in the management of the dance are only based on the taste of the supporting community which is carried out from time to time and is passed on in a regenerative manner. In its development, this dance becomes an entertaining performance art, but it still keeps messages from the form of dance movements that can be easily understood by the public

Abstract

Ratoh Bantai dance is one of traditional dances from South Aceh that has its unique characteristics. According to its name, Ratoh Bantai uses property that is different from ordinary dances in Aceh province namely pillow. In the past, this dance became the popular dance in the society but the appearance of various dances that are more upbeat and energetic make Ratoh Bantai dance starting to become unpopular in the society. This research took the subject “effort of maintaining the existence of Ratoh Bantai dance. The purposes of this research are to know and describe the effort of maintaining the existence of Ratoh Bantai dance. Research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Data were obtained through observation, interview, and library research. Research result obtained is Buana studio as one of studios that maintain the traditional dance of Ratoh Bantai conducts teaching effort to its protégés in the studio every month so the protégés of Buana studio still know the repertoire of dances in Aceh, especially Ratoh Bantai dance that’s almost forgotten by today young generation. Besides that, this research also described the choreography aspect of Ratoh Bantai dance in Buana studio.

Abstract

The Element of Motion and Its Application in Seudati Dance: The Creative Process at Aneuk Metuah Studio, Aceh Besar. This article is the research result which was conducted in Aceh Besar, which led to training activities to solve problems that occurred in the Aneuk Metuah Studio. The problem with the studio is about the dancers’ body resistance when dancing the Seudati dance, namely that the dancers get tired quickly, which impacts the quality of the dance movement. The program is oriented towards increasing creativity in managing the energy element when dancing the Seudati traditional dance. This type of research is qualitative research using the action research method (action research). The researcher identified specific problems and determined actions as solutions to these problems. Furthermore, the research refers to the construction method of creating dance in Jacqueline Smith’s book, translated by Ben Suharto, entitled Dance Composition: A Practical Guide for Teachers. The stages of activity include observation, determination of focus and preparation of training materials, transfer of materials, the performance of the Seudati dance, and evaluation of activities. The action is carried out in the form of training in the management of the energy element when dancing the Seudati dance. The material is delivered through audiovisual media and demonstrates it. Based on the process and the research results, it is found that the potential for the sustainability of the creative process can be carried out by the children of Aneuk Metuah studio in every training process in the future. It is hoped that this activity will have a long-term impact on the trainees in managing the elements of movement energy when dancing and increasing the artistic creativity in the studio.Keywords: dance; training; elements of motion; Seudati

Abstract

This research is entitled "Analysis of Music Recording Process with Digital Methods in Sanggar Buana Banda Aceh during the COVID-19 Pandemic". This study aims to determine the process of recording music using the Digital Method at Sanggar Buana Banda Aceh during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The tracking process of music recording on each instrument is recorded in the track.The overdub process is done by adding a new recording at the same time as the previously made recording is being played.The editing process uses an audio editor to enhance certain parts. The mixing process balances and combines the recorded tracks by prioritizing the principle of necessity. The equalizing process creates the sound character of traditional musical instruments based on the concept of sound frequency. The sound effect process provides an effect to strengthen the sound character of traditional musical instruments. The mastering process sets the standard volume, adjusts the frequency, removes or reduces effects that interfere with the character of the sound, balances and finalizes the audio as a whole. The research method used in this research is qualitative research as a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written information and analysis using Studio One 5 software. The stages of data collection are: observation; literature review; interviews and documentation. The results and discussion of this research are; digital music recorder at Sanggar Buana Banda Aceh using digital recording equipment as follows; the Warm Audio WA 47 JR condenser microphone uses ambient miking techniques, the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 3rd Gen audio interface; uses a multitrack recording technique with separate vocal tracks from Rapa'i; medium for delivering vocals and Rapa'i; the storage media is PreSonus Studio One 5 software. The recording process with the stages of tracking, overdub, editing, mixing, equalizing, sound effects and mastering.Keywords: analysis, recording process, music, sanggar buana. AbstrakPenelitian ini berjudul “Analisis Proses Perekaman Musik dengan Metode Digital di Sanggar Buana Banda Aceh pada Masa Pandemi COVID-19”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Proses Perekaman Musik dengan Metode Digital di Sanggar Buana Banda Aceh pada Masa Pandemi COVID-19. Proses tracking dari perekaman musik pada setiap instrument direkam dalam track. Proses overdub dilakukan dengan menambahkan rekaman baru pada saat yang bersamaan dimainkan rekaman yang telah dibuat sebelumnya. Proses editing menggunakan audio editor untuk menyempurnakan bagian tertentu. Proses mixing menyeimbangkan dan menggabungkan track rekaman dengan mengutamakan prinsip kebutuhannya. Proses equalizing menciptakan karakter bunyi dari alat musik tradisi berdasarkan konsep frekuensi bunyi. Proses sound effect memberikan efek untuk memperkuat karakter bunyi dari alat musik tradisi. Proses mastering menetapkan standar volume, mengatur frekuensi, menghilangkan atau menurunkan efek yang mengganggu karakter bunyi, menyeimbangkan dan finalisasi audio secara utuh. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif sebagai prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa informasi tertulis dan analisis menggunakan software Studio One 5. Tahapan pengumpulan data yaitu: observasi; studi pustaka; wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil dan pembahasan dari penelitian ini yaitu; perekam musik dengan metode digital di Sanggar Buana Banda Aceh menggunakan peralatan rekaman digital sebagai berikut; microphone condenser Warm Audio WA 47 JR menggunakan teknik ambient miking, audio interface Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 3rd Gen; menggunakan teknik perekaman multitrack dengan track vokal terpisah dari Rapa’i; media penyampai vokal dan Rapa’i; media penyimpan yaitu software PreSonus Studio One 5. Abstract

The process of creating dance works cannot ignore motion as the main medium for expressing dance and music as supporting media. So that empirical experience is needed in the creative process including theoretical fundamental knowledge and practical abilities. The difficulty of creating innovative dance works originating from traditional arts has become a problem for several dance communities in Aceh, the tendency that often occurs is that the originality of the new works produced is doubtful. This is because the patterns of traditional dance movements are used without going through processing and so is the music accompaniment. This condition has a negative impact on the productivity of the community and traditional arts as objects of processing. The service partner is the Lembaga Buana with a priority on the problem of lack of insight and skills of human resources in creating innovative dances sourced from traditional arts, especially the use of digital audio technology as a stimulus for the creative process. In order to provide solutions to solving partner problems, service implementers will carry out knowledge and skills transfer activities in the use of digital audio workstation. The auditory stimulus is used as a stimulus in the process of creating innovative dance movement patterns in the community. The choice of solutions to respond to the development of digital technology and its use in dance. The form of activity includes training on the application of digital audio workstation in creating dance music and managing elements of dance movements. Methods for implementing activities include: planning, implementing, monitoring and, assessment. Applying project based learning models and performance assessment instruments in the implementation of training. The results of the written post test showed an increase in insight into the method of creating dance and musical accompaniment from an average value of 36.6 to 82.6 with a difference of 46. While the practice test showed an increase from 80% to 7% for poor criteria, 20% to 46% for good criteria and 0% to 47% for very good criteria. Service activities produce Intellectual Property Rights of registered sound or sound recordings entitled Kesatuan Bunyi with registration number 000390015.
