Abstract

This study analyzes the mental health and quality of life of Mount Lawu climbers from the perspective of elderly climbers. Using quantitative descriptive methods, we included 17 participants who filled out the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) questionnaire to measure mental health and the Older People's Quality of Life (OPQOL-35) questionnaire to measure quality of life. The results showed that the average OPQOL score was 38.66 with a standard deviation of 4.52, while the average CESDR score was 21.60 with a standard deviation of 2.22. These findings showed that there was variation in quality of life and depression levels among participants, with quality of life more varied than depression levels. These results underscore the importance of interventions that support physical and mental health to improve the well-being of the elderly. A more detailed study is needed to know more about the factors that affect mental health and quality of life in this population.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Generation Z's digital reading literacy skills in identifying hoaxes in the digital era, where information spreads rapidly across various platforms. Employing a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods, this research involved 74 respondents from Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2012. Data were collected via a questionnaire to evaluate their understanding and practices regarding hoax news. The research findings indicate that 98.6% of respondents are aware of hoaxes, and 89.2% verify information before accepting it. However, only 64% feel confident in their ability to assess the credibility of information sources. Social media, particularly WhatsApp and TikTok, were identified as the main news sources, which potentially increases the risk of exposure to inaccurate information. These findings indicate a gap between awareness and evaluative skills possessed by Generation Z. Therefore, developing more comprehensive digital literacy programs in schools and communities is deemed necessary to enhance their critical abilities in confronting potentially misleading information. This study proves that without adequate digital reading literacy skills, Generation Z is at risk of being caught in the tide of misinformation that could influence political views, health perspectives, and other social issues.

Abstract

Keterbacaan buku teks merupakan faktor krusial yang mempengaruhi pemahaman siswaterhadap materi pelajaran. Studi-studi sebelumnya telah menunjukkan bahwa banyakbuku teks yang digunakan di sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) memiliki tingkatketerbacaan yang tidak sesuai dengan kemampuan siswa. Permasalahan ini dapatmenghambat proses belajar siswa dan berdampak pada prestasi akademik merekaPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tingkat keterbacaan teks menggunakan grafikRaygor. Penelitian ini berupaya untuk memeriksa bahan ajar yang digunakan guru disekolah agar keterbacaan teks pada buku teks yang digunakan sesuai untuk tingkatsekolah menengah pertama. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analisis. Beberapatahapan prosesnya antara lain (1) pengumpulan data, (2) mendeskripsikan data, (3)menganalisis data, dan (4) menyimpulkan. Teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalahobservasi lapangan dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perhitungan grafikRaygor terhadap 11 teks yang dijelaskan menunjukkan bahwa data grafik perpotongankelas 12 mempunyai satu teks (teks 10), grafik titik potong kelas 13 mempunyai 1 teks(teks 8), dan sisanya berada di kelas 14 sebanyak 9 teks (teks 1, teks 2, teks 3, teks 4, teks5, teks 6, teks 7, teks 9, dan teks 11). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa analisis tingkatketerbacaan teks menggunakan formula Raygor pada buku teks bahasa Indonesia di SMPKota Tasikmalaya mempunyai tingkat keterbacaan belum sesuai kelasnya. Oleh karenaitu, perbaikan atau penyederhanaan pada buku teks kelas VIII tingkat sekolah menengahperlu dilakukan.

In this paper we consider the solution formula for Stokes equation system without surface tension in half-space.
