Abstract

Handling road damage using the greenroads method is one solution to the problem of natural resources. This method uses a recycling method of dismantling the old pavement layers to be used as a mixture of new pavement layers. This study aims to determine the use of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) material as a mixture of materials to be used again as AC - WC (Asphalt Concrete - Wearing Coarse) pavement and determine the best percentage between recycled asphalt mixture from RAP and new material. The results of this study were obtained for the stability value on the use of 25% RAP, 50% RAP and 75% in a row obtained 1300,320 kg, 1076,468 kg and 966 kg. Of the three variations in the use of RAP it has mixed characteristics and marshall characteristics that meet the General Specifications of Bina Marga. The Optimum Asphalt Content (KAO) value for the percentage of RAP use of 25%, 50% and 75% in a row obtained 5,8%, 5,6% and 5,4%. The higher the use of RAP percentage, the Optimum Asphalt Level (KAO) obtained is getting smaller. Keyword: RAP (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement), Optimum Asphalt Levels (KAO), Asphalt Concrete - Wearing Coarse (AC – WC).

Abstract

Congestion has become a common problem faced by the community. The intersection of Pramuka -Cik Ditiro street is one of the most prone congestion areas in Bandar Lampung. One of the solution that can we do to reduce congestion is to build a fly over, that is expected to reduce congestion so that it will give a good impacts. The purpose of this study is to determine traffic conflicts and the magnitude of travel delays occurring around the Kemiling fly over. This study uses gap acceptance and follow-up methods to calculate the queue of vehicles that rotate at u-turn. The data collection is done by recording a video. The duration of the recording are 4 times with a duration of 1.5 hours in the morning and evening for 2 days (Monday and Saturday). Based on data analysis that has been carried out, after the construction of a fly over, it turns out there are still some congestion conflicts at several points during rush hour (morning and evening). The data obtained is the delay on the u-turn in front of the fly over which is 8.42 seconds for the average gap time and 5.13 seconds for the average follow-up time with the number of vehicles passing as many as 274. Therefore to solving the problem a roundabout being planned with a diameter of 20 m. Keywords: Fly Over, U-Turn, Follow-Up, Gap Acceptance, Roundabout.

Abstract

One of the causes of construction failure on asphalt pavement is segregation. Which  is the separation of small and large aggregate grains within a mixture, so that in a part of the coating of the pavement will be concentrated aggregate coarse and in other part will be concentrated fine aggregate. One of the factors causing segregation is the hauling distance from Asphalt Mixing Plant to the slap location. To understand this, task a study on the impact of the transport process on segregation on hot asphalt mixture from Asphalt Mixing Plant to the location of the spread. The mixture used is the Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course type or the laston coated wear of Asphalt Mixing Plant PT. Gigging Polah Raya for work location which is 28.9 km on Jalan Sultan Agung, Bandar Lampung, Lampung and PT. Rindang Tigasatu Pratama for work location located 53.3 km on Jalan Teuku Cik Ditiro, Bandar Lampung, Lampung. Examination of sample is done trough extraction test and sieve analysis test. From the result of the research, it’s found that there is being segregation during the transport of asphalt mix mixture from Asphalt Mixing Plant to the slap location. For sample PT. Manggung Polah Raya, gradation aggregate is still within the upper and lower limits of the general specification Bina Marga 2010. As for the sample of PT. Rindang Tigasatu Pratama, the aggregate gradation is out of the upper and lower limits of the general specification of Bina Marga 2010. Factors affecting segregation are haulage distances and aggregate density. Keywords: Road Pavement, Asphalt Concrete, Segregation.

Abstract

Asphalt is one of the materials used as a road-making material. Needs for ashpalt modification are caused by restrictions and capabilities of basic asphalt binder material to withstand pressure. Lignin functions as a binding for wood cells. Lignin is used as an additive to improve the quality of bitumen material. The binder used is 60/70 asphalt penetration. The lignin material used comes from palm oil fiber waste. The variation of lignin addition on asphalt levels is 0%, 3%, 6%, 9%. Characteristics test of asphalt carried out is Asphalt Specific Gravity, Penetration, Ductility, Softening Point, Oil Weight Loss, Viscosity. Asphalt in this study experienced an increase in quality. The best mixing of lignin is 3% and 6%. Shown by the Penetration test, the value of asphalt penetration increased to 53.6 mm. The sensitivity of asphalt to rising temperatures is indicated by the softening point test reaching 62˚C. 6% lignin mixing is the highest value for the effect of asphalt viscosity of 827 cst. The value of asphalt density reaches 1.0714 gr / cm3. In the 9% lignin mixture there is a decrease in the Ductility test, Viscosity test, Asphalt Specific Gravity test. Keywords: Asphalt, Lignin, Modification, Penetration, Viscosity.
