Abstract

This community service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the professionalism of senior high school teachers at SMAN 7 Mataram through Classroom Action Research (CAR). This training activity is intended for teachers at SMAN 7 Mataram. The implementation of activities is presented in a workshop approach through lectures, discussions, questions and answers, and simulations. The presentation includes material on CAR, data analysis in CAR accompanied by several examples of proposal drafts and scientific publications related to CAR. The very high motivation of the participants was seen during the implementation of community service activities, in addition to the very positive response of the participants with an enthusiasm level of 90% seen during the implementation of this community service. The level of teacher satisfaction is very high with this activity and they have high hopes that further activities will be held as assistance for CAR activities in schools and are able to produce scientific papers that are worthy of publication.

Abstract

Salah satu tujuan matematika dalam kurikulum 2013 yaitu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep yang baik dalam matematika. Namun, pemahaman terhadap konsep matematis yang menjadi salah satu tujuan dari pembelajaran matematika tidak sejalan dengan kemampuan pemahaman matematis yang telah dicapai peserta didik saat ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecemasan matematika dan motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas XII IPA Negeri 1 Praya Barat tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ex post facto. Populasi penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 1 Praya Barat tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dengan jumlah 66 siswa. sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel jenuh dimana seluruh populasi menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode angket dan metode tes. Instrumen penelitian ini berupa angket kecemasan matematika, angket motivasi belajar , dan tes prestasi belajar matematika. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis regresi sederhana dan teknik analisis regresi ganda. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa : (1) terdapat pengaruh yang negatif kecemasan matematika terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 1 Praya Barat tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dengan kontribusi sebesar 15,9%; (2) terdapat pengaruh yang positif motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 1 Praya Barat tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dengan kontribusi sebesar 41,9%; (3) terdapat pengaruh secara bersama-sama kecemasan matematika dan motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 1 Praya Barat tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dengan kontribusi sebesar 29,5%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving ability of the flat-sided geometry based on the initial mathematical abilities of the IX grade students of SMPN 6 Mataram. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects of this study consisted of two students in the categories of high, medium, and low mathematics early abilities. Data collection techniques using test and interview methods. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed (1) 2 students with high early mathematical abilities were able to fulfill the three stages of Polya’s indicators, namely understanding the problem, planning problem solving and implementing problem solving plans. So students’ mathematical problem solving abilities are in a good category. (2) 2 students with moderate early mathematics abilities are only able to meet the indicators of understanding the problem. So that students’ mathematical problem solving abilities are in the less category. (3) 2 students with low early mathematics abilities are only able to fulfill the indicators of understanding the problem. So students’ mathematical problem solving abilities are in the very poor category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of reasoning errors made in solving number pattern problems. Based on mathematical reasoning procedures, error analysis was carried out based on student learning styles. The stages of mathematical reasoning in this study include the stages proposing conjectures, finding patterns, and drawing conclusions. The research subjects for class VIII A of SMPN 8 Mataram for the academic year 2021/2022 were selected by purposive sampling. To deepen the research results, two students were selected from each type of learning style. The instruments in this study are learning style questionnaires, number pattern tests, and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique used quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. From the results of the study, we obtained the percentage of mathematical reasoning errors, namely: (i) students with visual learning styles at the stage of proposing a guess made 42%, finding patterns 72%, and drawing conclusions 71%; (ii) students with auditory learning styles stage proposed 53% conjectures, finding patterns 67%, and drawing conclusions 70%; (iii) students with a kinesthetic learning style stage proposed 56% conjectures, finding patterns 67%, and drawing conclusions 70%; (iv) the causes of student errors with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles are a lack of understanding of number pattern material, a lack of thoroughness in calculations, a lack of thoroughness in understanding questions, and a lack of experience with concluding final results.

Abstract

Elementary school teachers in Cluster II of the Gerung sub-district are very rare and some have never even used teaching aids in teaching mathematical concepts. That makes students have difficulty understanding abstract mathematics subject matter, while elementary school children are still in the stage of concrete or semi-abstract thinking. Therefore, this activity aims to empower elementary school teachers in Cluster II of the Gerung sub-district in implementing Kopermatik teaching aids (Math Game Box) by providing training to elementary school teachers on how to make and use Kopermatic props. Kopermatik is a set of elementary school mathematics teaching props that include teaching aids for learning algebra, geometry, and numbers. The training methods include (1) presentation of material, (2) demonstration, (3) making of teaching aids in groups, (4) presentation of group work results, and (5) evaluation and follow-up. The service activity was located at SDN 2 Dasan Geres, with 18 elementary school teachers as participants. all participants actively practice making props for number cards and fraction cards in groups of two. The results of this activity are : (1) all participants practice making props for number cards and fraction cards in groups of two, and (2) 95% of participants can demonstrate the props they made correctly. The results of the questionnaire showed that all participants were happy with this activity and hoped that it would be held again for a longer time and with more materials. Participants can understand the training material because it is interesting and easy to understand

Abstract

The class action research and scientific article writing activity was done to increase teachers’ professionalism. This training was carried out for the teachers of SDN 2 Sesela, West Lombok. The program was presented in SDN 2 Sesela in the form of workshop through discussion, question and answer session, and speech. The presentation covered class action research and its urgency for the teachers, teaching models that support free learning curriculum, making innovative instructing tools as teaching media in class. The importance of CAR scientific article writing for teachers and its publication in scientific journals. The high motivation and enthusiasm of the participants was obvious during the program. In addition, the participants’ response was positive with enthusiasm rate at 90 percent. The satisfaction rate of the teachers for this activity corresponds to the positive result of this project. Eventually, the teachers hope that further activities like in class CAR implementation will be held following this program.

Abstract

This study aims to describe errors in solving indefinite integral problems of algebraic functions based on Newman's procedure in terms of the category of mathematical ability. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research subject is class XII IPS 1 SMAN 5 Mataram in the academic year 2022/2023. The results showed (1) High-ability students made mistakes at the process skill stage due to the lack of giving practice questions using the partial method. (2) Students who are capable are making mistakes at the transformation stage due to incorrectly substituting the values ​​obtained at the example stage, and errors in the process skill stage because they cannot simplify terms containing the variable x. (3) Low-ability students make mistakes at the reading stage because they don't know the mention of the "∫" symbol, errors in the comprehension stage because they don't understand the question commands, and errors in the process skill stage because they can't operate fractions. errors at the reading stage because they could not read the symbol "∫", errors at the comprehension stage because they did not understand the meaning of dy and did not understand determining the term to be used, errors at the transformation stage due to not being able to change the form of the question to match the formula for the substitution method and partial as well as errors at the process skill stage for not understanding the steps of the substitution and partial method.

Abstract

Mathematical creativity provides space for students to express their ideas. Hence, the mathematical activities should support their ability to pose and solve problems. However, students are not used to them and have difficulty in proposing and solving creative problems. The ideas proposed are in the form of problem-posing with free situational and semi-structural types and their solutions. This study aims to describe the level of creativity of students in problem-posing and problem-solving conditional probability problems. The research method used was qualitative, and participants were 35 second-year preservice mathematics teachers. The result indicates that, in posing a free situational type problem, students were generally at level 3 (creative) while, in posing a semi-structural problem, students were generally at level 0 (not creative). Although, the students in each type of problem-posing task were at the category of level 4 (very creative), level 3 (creative), level 2 (quite creative), level 1 (almost creative), and level 0 (not creative). This shows that there is a need for habituation for students to pose and solve problems, especially those that are related to semi-structural type problems.

Abstract

Elementary school teachers in Cluster II Gerung District are still very rare in using visual aids in teaching mathematical concepts. As a result, students have difficulty understanding abstract mathematical material, while elementary school children are still at the concrete thinking stage. Therefore, this activity aims to train and assist elementary school teachers in Cluster II Gerung District in implementing Kopermatik teaching aids (Mathematics Game Boxes) for classroom learning. The training method includes discussions and demonstrations in making and using Kopermatik teaching aids as well as simulations in utilizing the Kopermatik teaching aids. This service activity was carried out at an elementary school in Gerung District, with 18 elementary school teachers participating. The results of the data analysis show that the teachers participating in the activity: (1) are enthusiastic and communicative in participating in the activity, (2) can practice making Kopermatik mathematics teaching aids with quite good and varied results, (3) give positive response to the usefulness of Kopermatik teaching aids, and (4) more than 65% of teachers were able to answer each evaluation question correctly
