Abstract

Every year the admission of new students with various backgrounds implies that students have different abilities. The difference in student abilities corresponding to student learning habits. Student learning habits maybe different if viewed from the gender and student's years class. Based on differences of student abilities is necessary to conduct research to determine the relationship between student's years class and gender toward student learning habits. This study was an ex post facto study with a sample of 203 students as the sample was selected by simple random sampling technique. Based on analysis of variance statistical analysis of two paths obtained by students' learning habits do not different in terms of gender this can be seen from Fscore = 0.008 with sig = 0.93 > 0.05, while students' learning habits are different if viewed from the year of the student's class this can be seen of the value Fscore = 3.537 with sig = 0.008 < 0.05. Post hoc test indicated that students’ 10th semester difference with student 4th semester and 2th semester. Students 2th semester difference with 6th semester and 8th semester.

Abstract

Students usually have difficulties in visualizing images that are caused by the lack of students’ conceptual understanding. We need learning which is able to help the students’ conceptual construction. One of them is by using technology in learning. This study aimed to develop students’ worksheets using a scientific approach based on GeoGebra for the eleven-grade of senior high school in Mataram-Indonesia. This study type was Research and Development (RD) using Plom model. The developed product was validated by experts and tested for its practicality by mathematics teachers and students. The quality of the product refers to the validity and effectiveness of the product. The results of expert validation and field try out indicated that the developed worksheet is valid and practical. The result of the research showed that students’ worksheet is valid and effective with validation average score is 4.44 and effective. The students’ average score is 86.84% (above the minimum standard) and the average of students' responses is 87.72% (positive category). It can be concluded that the developed worksheet can be used in the classroom

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan secara komprehensif perbedaan bukti yang membuktikan dan bukti yang menjelaskan berdasarkan pertimbangan implikasi kedua bukti tersebut sebagai dasar konstruksi penalaran dan bukti dalam matematika. Kajian dijalani dengan kegiatan menguraikan perbedaan spesifik antara keduanya serta memberikan contoh kasus kedua bukti, dan memberikan justifikasi atas pentingnya pengenalan kedua bukti dalam kelas matematika. Kedua bukti digambarkan dengan permasalahan konsep barisan bilangan ganjil. Bukti yang membuktikan hanya menunjukkan dengan menggunakan induksi matematis, sementara bukti yang menjelaskan menunjukkan dengan bukti Gauss, representasi geometrik bangun titik, dan garis zig-zag. Perbedaan antara keduanya tampak pada pemberian alasan yang berasal dari bukti itu sendiri. Hasil kajian mengindikasikan bahwa peran bukti dalam kelas matematika pada tingkat perguruan tinggi adalah membuktikan/meyakinkan, pada tingkat menengah atas adalah membuktikan dan menjelaskan, dan pada tingkat sekolah menengah pertama dan dasar peran utamanya adalah menjelaskan. Akibatnya bukti matematis tidak hanya membuktikan/menyakinkan, melainkan juga menjelaskan. Karenanya penting mempertimbangkan implikasi bukti dalam kurikulum matematika di sekolah, serta perlunya menyajikan bab materi kepada mahasiswa pendidikan matematika tidak hanya bukti yang membuktikan, melainkan juga bukti yang menjelaskan.Proofs that Prove and Proofs that Explain in Mathematics ClassroomAbstractThe purpose of this study was to comprehensively describe the differences of the proofs that prove and proofs that explain based on the consideration of the implications of the two proofs as the basis for the construction reasoning and proofs in mathematics. The study was undertaken with the activity of describing the specific differences between the two and providing examples of cases of both proofs; and provide justification for the importance of introducing both proofs in mathematics classrooms. Both proofs are illustrated by the problem of the odd number sequence concept. Proofs that prove is only shown using mathematical induction, while proofs that explain shows with Gaussian proof, a geometric representation of point shape, and zigzag line. The difference between the two appears to be the reasoning that comes from the proof itself. The results of the study indicate that the role of proof in mathematics classes at the tertiary level is proving/convincing, at the senior secondary level it is proving and explaining, and at the junior and elementary school level its main role is explaining. As a result, mathematical proof does not only prove/convince, but also explain. It is therefore important to consider the implications of proof in the mathematics curriculum in schools, as well as the need to present chapter materials to mathematics education students not only proofs that prove but also proof that explain.

Abstract

Mahasiswa pendidikan matematika FKIP Universitas Mataram harus mengusai matematika sekolah sebagai bagian dari kompetensi professional calon guru. Fakta menunjukkan pemahaman matematika mahasiswa sangat rendah sehingga penting untuk mendapatkan data tentang kriteria faktor-faktor internal yang mempengaruhi tingkat pemahaman matematika sekolah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika FKIP Unram. Untuk itu dilakukan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan populasi mahasiswa pendidikan matematika angkatan 2015 sampai 2019 dengan sampel sebanyak 214 mahasiswa dipilih dengan metode Cluster Random Sampling. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh sikap mahasiswa terhadap matematika berada pada kategori positif dengan rata-rata 80,7, Minat mahasiswa terhadap matematika berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dengan rata-rata 64,9,  motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dengan rata-rata 112,9, dan kebiasaan belajar mahasiswa berada pada kategori baik dengan rata-rata 58. Korelasi antara masing-masing faktor diperoleh minat mahasiswa memiliki korelasi yang kuat dengan kebiasaan belajar yaitu 0,61 sedangkan faktor-faktor internal lain memiliki korelasi sedang dan sikap terhdap kebiasaan belajar memiliki korelasi lemah. Berdasarkan data-data terkait dengan sikap, minat, motivasi berprestasi, dan kebiasaan belajar menunjukkan hal yang positif disebabkan karena sampel penelitian adalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika. Sehingga perlu diadakan penelitian lanjutan untuk mendapatkan faktor lain yang menyebabkan rendahnya pemahaman mahasiswa pendidikan matematika terhadap matematika sekolah.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguraikan permasalahan yang dihadapi mahasiswa pendidikan matematika FKIP Universitas Mataram selama proses pembelajaran secara online serta untuk mengaitkan antara gambaran nyata terkait kesiapan mahasiswa dalam beradaptasi pada pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Jumlah responden yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah 53 responden yang terdiri dari mahasiswa aktif pendidikan matematika FKIP Universitas Mataram angkatan 2018/2019. Sampel yang diambil menggunakan teknik Proportional Stratification Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik angket. Teknik analisis data meliputi data reduction, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.  Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat berbagai macam kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Mataram selama pembelajaran secara online. Adapun kesulitan dalam proses pembelajaran online yang di alami oleh mahasiswa terletak pada efektifitas proses belajar mengajar dan juga faktor kendala teknis seperti jaringan internet yang tidak stabil, kuota yang terbatas dan juga Interaksi yang minim ketika proses pembelajaran online berlangsung

Abstract

Cipher hill adalah algoritma cipher poligrafik berdasarkan transformasi linear, yang ditemukan oleh Lester S. Hill pada tahun 1929. Algoritma cipher Hill mengenkripsi plainteks dengan kongruensi linier C≡KP(mod 26) dan mendekripsi cipherteks dengan kongruensi linier P≡K^(-1) C(mod 26). Enkripsi atau enciphering adalah proses mengubah plainteks (pesan asli) menjadi cipherteks (pesan tersandi), sementara proses balik mengubah cipherteks kembali menjadi plainteks oleh penerima yang dituju, disebut dekripsi atau deciphering. Banyak kode atau karakter dalam cipher Hill adalah sebanyak huruf dalam alphabet (A, B, C, ..., Z). Jumlah atau banyak karakter kode dalam cipher Hill, sangat berpengaruh terhadap kekuatan suatu cipher, sehingga diperlukan modifikasi dengan menambahkan atau mengganti karakter kode dengan karakter kode ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) (desimal) 33-126.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kategori pemahaman siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Labuapi pada materi relasi dan fungsi tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 ditinjau dari empat jenis pemahaman Polya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Labuapi tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 30 orang pada kelas VIII D. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes. Tes diberikan untuk mengukur pemahaman yang dimiliki siswa terhadap materi relasi dan fungsi yang terdiri dari tujuh soal dan dikerjakan dalam waktu 60 menit. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data pada penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kategori pemahaman siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Labuapi pada materi relasi dan fungsi ditinjau dari empat jenis pemahaman Polya yaitu pemahaman mekanikal, induktif, rasional dan intuitif berkategori sangat rendah dan untuk hubungan antara tiap jenis pemahaman rata-rata memiliki hubungan kuat.

Abstract

The research aims to describe students' critical thinking ability in terms of social arithmetic problem problem 2020/2021. As for the indicators of critical thinking ability covering clarification, furtherment, strategy, and inference. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The method of data collection includes a test of the critical thinking ability of 3 items of description and interview. Based on data analysis, it could be concluded that: (1) the high category of subjects of 3 students, indicating that in the clarifying, subclassification, strategy, and inference parts can state the problem perfectly and completely (2) the only moderate number of subjects at 5 students, pointing out that in the clarifying, subclassification, strategy, and inference sections can present the problem less completely (3) next, the low number of subjects of 12 students, I will be able to explain that in the clarification,assement, strategy, and inference will be unable to declare the problem.

Abstract

In the 2013 curriculum teachers are required to use diverse learning strategies so that students' learning outcomes improve, but during the math learning process, students' attention is still lacking, and have no interest in the subject. The purpose of this research is to find out the influence of learning interest, and motivation on the results of learning mathematics subjects grade VIII SMP Negeri 11 Mataram Year Lesson 2020/2021. The research method used is the Questionnaire and Documentation Method, which is used to obtain data in accordance with respondents' opinions related to information about learning interests and learning motivation, as well as collecting UAS grades of grade VIII students of SMPN 11 Mataram odd semester of the 2020/2021 school year, which is then processed with descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results showed that there is a significant influence on the interest of learning on the results of learning mathematics, There is a significant influence on the motivation of learning on the results of learning mathematics, and there is a significant influence on the interest and motivation of learning on the results of learning mathematics students grade VIII SMP Negeri 11 Mataram School Year 2020/2021.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find mathematical concepts in the cultural heritage of songket cloth and how to apply them as a medium for learning mathematics in junior high schools. The results of this study can be used as a reference for junior high school teachers to choose culture-based learning media related to student life, especially in Lombok. This research is an ethnomathematical research with the research method used is a qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. The research was conducted in September, October, and November 2021 in Sukarara village, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The subjects in this study were craft works in the form of songket cloth and songket weavers who were active in the village of Sukarara which consisted of three weavers. Data were collected by documentation, document observation, and interviews. The documents obtained were then analyzed related to the content of the mathematical concepts contained therein. The conclusion of this study is that the quality of mathematics learning can be improved by using the traditional songket subahnale cloth as a medium or learning aid. Some mathematical concepts that can be learned with songket subahnale as the medium are congruence, similarity, perimeter of flat shapes, area of flat shapes, folding symmetry, comparisons, pattern tracing. Songket fabrics that can be used as media are songket subahnale woven fabrics with geometric motifs such as diamond motifs, rang-rang motifs, and hexagons
