Abstract

TOEFL and Abstract is the title of whatsapp group made by UPT Bahasa Inggris Unived to communicate between admin and students who wants to graduate. This is also as the alternative way during the pandemic of Covid-19. This study aimed to analyze students’ politeness strategies from all faculties are in UNIVED and admin of UPT Bahasa Inggris in whatsapp group. Type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected through the the transcript during the conversation between admin and undergraduate students. The results of this research showed that there were 144 conversations used by students in whatsapp grup. The researchers found 34 were used bald on record, 48 used positive politeness, 53 used negative politeness, and 9 used off-record. Negative politeness was dominant types of politeness among the other types of politeness, that oriented by the speaker as undergraduate students with admin of UPT Bahasa Inggris UNIVED Bengkulu. Question Hedge with 100% were as a form of negative politeness used by undergaduate students. From the results aboves, it shows that the dominant type of Politeness Strategies used by teacher and students in Whatsapp Group are Positive Politeness and Negative Politeness. Abstract

TOEFL is a Test of English as a Foreign Language which is a test of basic English language skills which is also one of the requirements for prospective graduates at the University of Dehasen Bengkulu. In the last few years after the Covid 19 pandemic, the TOEFL test as a graduation requirement at the University of Dehasen Bengkulu was carried out using Google Forms and information media such as websites and YouTube as intermediary media in conveying important material to prospective graduates. Apart from that, prospective graduates need to be provided with material about the importance of Scientific Writing abstracts which are related to the student's final assignment, namely the thesis. The thesis’s abstract is translated into English at UPT Bahasa Inggris to make it easier for readers to search for research reference titles through the abstract. Apart from this aim, the title of the scientific writing abstract at the University of Dehasen Bengkulu, will be translated as a reference for the thesis title in the English transcript. In the context of community service carried out by a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education who collaborated with the UPT English Language Team at the University of Dehasen Bengkulu as managers and organizers of TOEFL and Thesis’s abstract translation which raised the title "Utilization of Video Media on Websites and YouTube to Improve TOEFL Skills and Scientific Writing Abstracts for Prospective UNIVED Graduates". The stages of service activities are carried out starting from preparation, needs analysis, implementation and preparation of activity reports. Delivery of socialization material by utilizing videos uploaded on the UPT Bahasa Inggris website and YouTube channel. Apart from that, the initial introduction to TOEFL was carried out through the Zoom application and WhatsApp Group management. Apart from that, test technical briefings and simulations on the use of Google Form media for the TOEFL test are carried out face-to-face alternately for prospective graduates who have difficulty and do not understand how to operate the LJK Google Form. With this activity, it is expected that there will be increased knowledge and preparation for prospective graduates before taking the TOEFL test and prospective graduates can understand the strategy of scientific writing abstract, then it is expected that this activity will continue in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the UAS questions in physical education lessons are made by sports teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Bengkulu Tengah. This research is a qualitative research. The subjects in this study were sports teachers who made UAS questions in class VII. The instruments in this research are content validity test instruments and construct validity tests. The results of the study show that the questions made by the sports teacher at SMP Negeri 3 in Central Bengkulu have not been said to be good. Because the teacher is not consistent in making questions for example in the content validity test. It says on the lattice that the questions contained in the indicators are 10 but in fact only 5 items are contained in the indicators, and it is also said on the lattice of questions that are contained in the indicators from No. 1-10 while in fact on the questions of No. 26 – 30 . on the items that are not contained in the lattice indicators totaling 25 items. Analysis of the questions on the construct validity test on the rules of writing a good question at No. 14 which contains each question must use language that is in accordance with the Indonesian language rules. In the problems analyzed, the researchers found that the writing of foreign language words was not italicized.

Abstract

This study aims to: determine the effect of hand grip and pull up exercises on service skills on volleyball extracurricular at SMK Negeri 3 Seluma. The approach method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative research type, namely research based on calculations in the form of numbers using statistical calculations. The population in this study were 15 students. The sampling technique in this study used a side total technique, namely the sampling technique taking all members of the population as samples or respondents, namely 15 students. The data collection used in this study was by using a service test on volleyball. The data analysis technique used in this research is the t-test analysis technique. From the results of the analysis using the t-test, the value of t-count is = 6.410. When compared with the value of t table with a significance of 5% at n = 15, found a value of 2.145. From this value, it is known that t count is greater than t table (6,410 > 2,145), then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that in this study there is an effect of hand grip and pull up exercises on service skills for volleyball extracurricular at SMK Negeri 3 Seluma.
