Abstract

The number and distribution of TPS in the City of Banjarmasin currently does not meet the waste service needs of the City of Banjarmasin. The unequal distribution of TPS facilities has caused rubbish to pile up at several TPSs due to the lack of number of TPSs and the lack of TPS services. The step needed to overcome this problem is to identify the existing condition of the Banjarmasin City waste transportation system. Data collection was carried out by observation and interviews, then the data was processed by descriptive analysis. The research results show that the existing condition of the Banjarmasin City waste transportation system currently has 70 waste transport fleets which are divided into 3 types, namely 27 units of armroll trucks, 33 units of dump trucks, and 10 units of compactor trucks. The waste transportation pattern in Banjarmasin City uses the HCS transportation pattern for the Armroll truck fleet and the SCS transportation pattern for the dump truck and compactor truck fleet.

Abstract

Coal in Indonesia is used as fuel for power plants to support the availability of electricity. Besides that, several industries such as the cement, paper, textile, and fertilizer also use coal as fuel for production process. Due to that the coal waste such as ash was generating as increasing coal usage. Therefore, further research was carried out to investigate ash content and chemical composition of coal with various types of calories in the South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan. In addition, this study provides information about management and potential processing of coal ash so that environmental pollution able to minimized. The method used to obtain primary data to determine the content of each parameter is by direct testing on each parameter for variations in the type of coal calorie. As a result, coal with low to high value has a percentage of ash content, respectively 2.5%; 2.3% and 9.7% and mineral content, respectively 77.40%; 0,96% and 95.06%. As well as the chemical composition of coal for SiO2, respectively 26.56%; 30;50% and 58.76%, Al2O3 respectively 11.14%, 12.41% and 28.86%, Fe2O3 respectively 16.12%, 16.40% and 4.24%. CaO and TiO2 respectively 0.50%, 0.64% and 1.53%. The results obtained, namely the value of ash content and the amount of minerals show an increase in each variation of the type of coal calories as well as the economic value shows a graph that always increases.

Abstract

The study aims to design an Android-based Waste Bank Application that is user-friendly and not eliminate the value of education regarding waste management. The study based on the problem of waste management within the campus which is still less regarded. Most of the waste in the campus environment will be directly disposed to a landfill. The implementation of conventional waste bank method has begun to be applied in several areas and campuses, yet there are obstacles in the activities of the conventional waste bank. The research method used in the study are written interviews and field observations, the application will be designed based on the data and processed from these methods. The application was made by colleagues from Information Technology, Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarmasin which was designed by the author from the problem points obtained and according to the management of the Waste Bank HMTL FT ULM Banjarbaru. The results of the design of the Android-based waste bank "Serasah" in this study have an integrated database, making it easier for administrators to archive customer savings data so that it is managed properly, and the waste that is saved in this application must be done first with predetermined conditions. In addition, this application requires a complete user identity in order to be used. The menu in the waste bank application, such as creating new account and logging in to customer accounts, choosing the type and weight of waste to be saved, printing transaction receipts, asking admins, and changing account passwords. Abstract

The use of plastic is increasing as the population increases, while plastic has properties that are difficult to decompose, efforts are needed to reduce plastic waste into other useful products. One alternative that is used is to make plastic waste into a mixture of paving blocks, which is a purpose of this resarch. In this studi using descriptive data analysis. . In this study using descriptive data analysis. In this study, paving blocks were used with a mixture of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) & Polyethylene Terephthalate(PET) plastic waste and additional used oil as fuel and thinner. To obtain 1 paving block made from plastic waste, it takes 2 kg of plastic with a composition ratio of 1.4 kg HDPE, 0.6 kg PET plastic, and 0.66 L used oil. The rasults of the compresive strength test of the 3 paving blocks obtained an average value of 11.37 MPa, then based on the quality requirements based on SNIi 03-0691-1996 they met the requirements and entered the D quality category for garden and sidewalk purposes.
