Abstract

Batubara alami (unburnt coal) mengandung polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) dengan kadar yang tinggi dan tingkat penyebaran relatif cepat. PAH sulit didegradasi karena bersifat toksik sehingga berpotensi mengkontaminasi tanah, terutama di wilayah pertambangan batubara tetapi belum mendapatkan perhatian yang serius. Kontaminasi tersebut dapat ditangani menggunakan salah satu teknologi bioremediasi yaitu co-composting. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi proses co-composting adalah pH. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pH tanah terhadap biodegradasi PAH dalam proses co-composting dengan penambahan sampah organik. Co-composting dilakukan secara aerobik selama 98 hari dalam skala laboratorium. Variasi penelitian meliputi rasio tanah terkontaminasi PAH dengan sampah organik (100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75, dan 0/100) dan pH tanah (asam dan netral). Analisis kadar 16 EPA-PAH dilakukan menggunakan metode Gas Chromatographic Mass Spectrometric (GC-MS). Proses co-composting berlangsung dalam kondisi lingkungan yang optimal yaitu suhu mesofilik (30-31°C), pH netral (6,5-7), dan kadar air optimum (50-60%).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biodegradasi PAH yang terjadi tidak dipengaruhi oleh kondisi pH tanah. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan persentase kadar PAH yang terdegradasi tidak berbeda jauh antara pH tanah awal asam dan netral di rasio T/s 25/75 yaitu 75,15% dan 76,21 %.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to update the distillation system by designing an internet of things for monitoring water conditions, so that water conditions can be monitored via a smartphone. This design uses the Arduino Uno microcontroller as the main control of the distillation system and in designing the internet of things, it uses an ESP8266-01 module as a component of sending data from the system to the Blynk application on the smartphone. Monitoring water conditions in this distillation system, there are several conditions, namely, the condition of the pH content in the water, the water concentration (salt content) and it is also equipped with monitoring the water level in the reservoir. Based on the results of the tests carried out, the implementation of the internet of things for monitoring the condition of the distilled water is going well where there is no difference in the appearance of sensor parameters between the LCD and the Blynk application, but the ESP8266-01 module only has a maximum distance of 25 meters, as for the delay. The ESP8266-01 module with the system off condition has an average delay of 8 minutes at night, 10 minutes in the morning, and 12 minutes at night with a provider that has an average internet speed of 12Mb / s. From the data generated in the process of sending data from the system to the blynk application, it requires a bandwidth of 93B and an average of 57bps of input.

Abstract

This study aims to design an automatic pump control system and assess the effectiveness of using pumps in seawater distillation systems. The system uses an Arduino Uno microcontroller for central control of all system activities and a relay as a pump switch. Ultrasonic sensors, pH sensors and TDS sensors as input to provide information on the condition of the water in the storage container, the water pump as an output for pumping and flowing sea water and distilled water. The water pump in the seawater distillation system is used to drain seawater to the initial reservoir with a water level set point >20cm, if the set point is met, the pump will turn on. The second mini pump is used to flow the distilled water to the final reservoir with a set point value of pH <8 and a TDS value <1400, so the pump will turn on. The third mini pump is used to flow distilled water to the second basin with a set point value of pH >8 and a value of TDS >1400, so the pump will turn on, therefore the use of a pump in an automatic seawater distillation system is needed and its use can be said to be effective. Abstract

The abundance of plastic waste is caused by inadequate management. The element of plastic waste consists of crude oil and natural gas that can be reuse as fuel. The conversion technique which can be applied is thermal cracking as known as pyrolysis that combined with a catalyst. The addition of a catalyst can accelerate the process of crude oil formation so that the volume increases and makes the quality better. The pyrolysis can convert waste into oil up to 81% that are consist of paraffin, isopropyl, olefin, naphthal and aromatics so feasible to use as fuel. Abstract

The behavior of people who depend on the Citarum River Watershed (DAS Citarum) in disposing of waste has a direct impact on the damage and pollution experienced by the Citarum River. Therefore, the Citarum Harum program by the government is expected to change the Citarum River Watershed (DAS Citarum) community more importantly in terms of waste management. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the behavioral intention of the Citarum watershed community to realize the Citarum Harum. This research was conducted by surveying through questionnaires to 170 respondents. After collecting data, the data then processed using Partial Least Square (PLS) method with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of this study indicate that the Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC), Incentive Measure (IM), and Personal Norm (PN) factors significantly influence the Behavioral Intention (BI) respectively amount 16.3%, 15.9%, and 19.1%. While the Knowledge Theory (ETK) and Environmental Practices Knowledge factors influence the Attitude Towards Behavior (ATT) to understand in actualize citarum harum program respectively amount 38.4% and 21.7%.

Abstract

Waduk Jatiluhur, salah satu objek vital negara, yang berada di zona tengah DAS Citarum merupakan penyuplai air baku air minum untuk Provinsi Jawa.  Status kualitas air DAS Citarum yang tercemar hingga tahun 2018 berpotensi mengganggu pemanfaatannya sehingga menjadi fokus perhatian nasional dengan adanya upaya implementasi Peraturan Presiden No. 15 tahun 2018.  Guna mengoptimalkan upaya tersebut, maka dibutuhkan kajian menyeluruh mengenai kondisi air di Waduk Jatiluhur.  Pengujian kondisi fisik-kimiawi air dilakukan pada 3 sampel komposit yang diambil dari 3 titik berbeda. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa upaya pengendalian yang dilakukan berdampak positif.  Sebagian besar kondisi fisik-kimiawi air yaitu TDS, TSS, pH, DO, nitrat, nitrit, amonia, As, Co, Ba, B, Se, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Pb, Mn, Cl-, F, SO4, Cl2, MBAS, fenol, dan total P memenuhi baku mutu air kelas II.  Meskipun demikian, air Waduk Jatiluhur tidak layak menjadi air baku air minum karena konsentrasi BOD, COD, Zn, H2S, serta minyak dan lemak masing-masing sebesar 4,00-9,00 mg/L; 26,00 mg/L; 0,06-0,08 mg/L; 0,011-0,013 mg/L; 1,30-4,80 mg/L telah melebihi baku mutu.  Kondisi ini disebabkan oleh akumulasi pakan dari 24.415 keramba jaring apung untuk budidaya ikan di Waduk Jatiluhur dan berpengaruh pada timbulnya penyakit diare, kulit, typhoid, dan malaria. Kata kunci: DAS Citarum, diare, pencemaran air, Waduk Jatiluhur. Jatiluhur Reservoir, one of Indonesia vital objects which located at the middle of Citarum Watershed, provides public water supply in West Java Province.  Until 2018, the watershed was polluted and potentially disrupting its utilization.  It becomes the state focus with Presidential Regulation No. 15 of 2018 implementation.  In order to optimize these efforts, a comprehensive study for controlling the water quality in Jatiluhur Reservoir is needed.  Determination of physicochemical properties was carried out on 3 composite samples which taken from different location.  The results showed that treatments from government had positive impact. Mostly, the physico-chemical properties of water, in terms of TDS, TSS, pH, DO, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, As, Co, Ba, B, Se, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Pb, Mn, Cl-, F, SO4, Cl2, MBAS, phenol, total P met class II water quality standards.  Nevertheless, the water is not suitable to be used as drinking water because the BOD, COD, Zn, H2S, and oil and grease concentrations were 4.00-9.00 mg/L; 26.00 mg/L; 0.06-0.08 mg/L; 0.011-0.013 mg/L; 1.30-4.80 mg/L, respectively, has exceeded the standard.  This condition is caused by fish farming activity of 24,415 floating nets which influences the occurrence of diarrhea, skin, typhoid, and malaria.  Keywords: Citarum Watershed, diarrhea, Jatiluhur Reservoir, water pollution.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan pemilihan kualitas buah Jeruk Pontianak dengan menggunakan metode ke ilmuan pencitraan digital. Ektrasi nilai citra RGB dan di konversi ke dalam bentuk HSV. Penggunaan nilai Hue sebagain indikator warna dan identifikasi warna citra Jeruk Ponitanak. Rentang nilai Hue (0.627 - 8.991), data ini diambil dari 10 buah sample jeruk terlalu matang, nilai Hue (11.914- 29.688), data ini diambil dari 10 sample buah jeruk matang, dan rentang nilai Hue (30.224 - 68.68) digunakan sebagai 10 buah sample jeruk mentah. Proses klasifikasi citra kulit jeruk menggunakan Aplikasi GUI MATLAB agar proses klasifikasi citra dapat dilakukan dalam waktu singkat

Abstract

Organic waste bioconversion through maggot cultivation is believed to be a solution for managing organic waste based on a circular economy. Maggot cultivation has been widely carried out by Bank Sampah managed by the community in Indonesia, one of which is located in Bengle Village, Karawang District. Bank Sampah (BS) of Bengle Village has been able to reduce organic waste and produce Kasgot, reaching 75.00% and 25.00%, respectively. This study aims to examine nutritional content of maggot and characteristics of kasgot produced by BS of Bengle Village. The results showed that fresh and dried maggot contained quite high fat and protein, of 38.99%; 29.65% and 40.94%; 34.75%, respectively. These values make both maggots feasible as sources of animal fat and protein for poultry. Furthermore, Kasgot contains N-total, P2O5, K2O, Fe, and Pb each of 3.98%; 2.80%; 3.32%; 332.18 ppm; and 0.26 ppm has met the minimum specifications for solid organic fertilizer and compost from organic waste. However, the C/N ratio (6.40) and moisture content (22.77%) did not meet these standards and indicated that Kasgot was not stable as an organic fertilizer. Despite that, the quality of Kasgot can be improved through advanced fermentation processes such as vermicomposting so that it can be used as a substitute for inorganic fertilizers for plant growth and improve soil conditions.

Abstract

Sampah organik merupakan salah satu sampah dengan komposisi timbulan tertinggi di Desa Bengle, Karawang yang belum dikelola dengan baik. Dalam rangka mendukung kebijakan pengurangan sampah di Karawang, masyarakat peduli lingkungan di Bank Sampah Desa Bengle memanfaatkan sampah organik sebagai pakan maggot. Maggot dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ikan dan unggas sehingga memiliki nilai ekonomis. Namun dalam prosesnya ditemukan kendala, antara lain kurangnya teknologi perajang mekanik yang mendukung masyarakat dalam menyediakan pakan maggot. Tujuan dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengimplementasikan mesin perajang sampah organik melalui sosialisasi teknologi disertai dengan pelatihan pemanfaatannya bagi masyarakat. Melalui program ini, masyarakat Bank Sampah Desa Bengle telah memperoleh sampah organik berukuran 1,00-2,00 cm untuk pakan maggot dengan mengoperasikan mesin pencacah sampah organik berkapasitas 100kg/jam dengan baik.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi adanya permasalahan lingkungan yang berasal dari limbah sekam padi, serabut kelapa, dan gulma eceng gondok yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, pemanfaatan limbah sekam padi, serabut kelapa, dan ecenggondok dalam upaya pelestarian dan pengembangan pertanian berkelanjutan di Kabupaten Karawang. Pemanfaatan sekam padi, serabut kelapa, dan eceng gondok tersebut bertujuan untuk mengurangi limbah pertanian , dimana Sistem pertanian berkelanjutan ditujukan untuk mengurangi kerusakan lingkungan, mempertahankan produktivitas pertanian, meningkatkan pendapatan petani dan meningkatkan stabilitas dan kualitas kehidupan masyarakat di pedesaan. Libah pertanian tersebut selain untuk subtitusi media tumbuh jamur merang juga dapat menjadi pupuk organik bagi tanaman sayuran. Hal ini sesuai dengan usaha tani yang dilakukan BUMDes dan Koperasi Desa Kutaampel yang dimana membina petani dalam usaha taninya. Pelatihan dilakukan melalui tutorial, simulasi, praktek dan pendampingan. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah Kegiatan PKM mampu memberikan perubahan Prilaku, Sikap dan Keterampilan para peserta yang berasal dari Desa Kutaampel Kec. Batujaya Kab. Karawang Provinsi Jawa Barat dalam memanfaatkan limbah pertanian (sekam padi, serabut kelapa, dan gulma eceng gondok), menjadi sumber pendapatan usaha Tani dan UMKMnya seperti WOGKA, Pupuk Organik TERCINTA dan MAGONIKA.
