Use of pesticide is widely used in palm oil plantation industry. Pesticide exposure can affect pesticide-spraying workers' health. This study aimed to determine acetylcholinesterase enzyme (AChE) activity levels and identify of poisoning risk factors on pesticide-spraying workers in a palm oil plantation Comanditaire Venootschap (CV) unit in Parenggeran, Kotawaringin Timur, Central Kalimantan. The cross-sectional study design was conducted to examine cholinesterase enzyme activity levels on 15 pesticide-spraying workers. The cholinesterase levels were measured using an automated photometric technique. This study found that all workers have normal cholinesterase activity levels. The average cholinesterase activity levels were 7065,36 U/L and 6528 U/L, respectively for male and female workers. It was also found that two male workers cholinesterase activity levels of using glyphosate pesticide were almost close to the lower limit of the normal levels range, 4720 U/L, and 4958 U/L, respectively. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during the pesticide spraying and maximum time allowed of pesticide spraying in a day have to be considered as an important rule to avoid excessive pesticide exposure.

Proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase Src is also known as simply Src is a tyrosine kinase protein which is one of the targets in various cancer therapies such as leukemia. Meanwhile, akar kuning (Arcangelisia flava) has gained significant attention as a medicinal plant that has a cytotoxic effect on various types of cancer cells. This study aims to determine the potential of secondary metabolites of akar kuning as Src inhibitors. Molecular docking was carried out using Autodock Vina 1.1.2 with 2HCK receptors, that quercetin and dasatinib were used as reference ligands. The docking results showed that the highest affinity was shown by berberine with a ΔG value of -9.0 kcal/mol, exceeded quercetin and dasatinib. However, the highest amino acid similarity to quercetin and dasatinib was produced by jatrorrhizine, with 93.33% and 73.91%, respectively. Interestingly, berberine is the ligand with the third-highest similarity after jatrorrhizine and palmatine, while jatrorrhizine has the second-highest affinity after berberine. The results concluded that the combination of berberine and jatrorrhizine is predicted to be optimally used as an Src inhibitor in cancer therapy.

Severe dengue or Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) occurrence in Palangka Raya frequently becomes epidemic. The morbidity rate (incidence rate) of DHF cases in Central Kalimantan in 2016 reached 69.1 per 100,000 population with the mortality rate (fatality rate) of 1.4%. The morbidity rate reached 278.4 per 100,000 population in Palangka Raya, the second place after North Barito regency. Based on the Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia’s Strategic Planning (Renstra), targets for dengue fever in 2016 should be <49 per 100,000 population, Central Kalimantan Province has not achieved the target yet. The Central Kalimantan Provincial Health Office reported the epidemy of DHF in 2017 occurred in the working area of Menteng Community Health Center. The report found a case that all family members of a household suffered from DHF. This community service aimed to educate the community to survey of dengue larvae independently, to develop the community’s knowledge and awareness about the importance of support from larvae monitoring speculator Juru Pemantau Jentik (also briefly known as Jumantik) and to increase community participation in DHF prevention movement in Palangka Raya. The method of this community service used site survey, observation, interview, larva examination and reporting of results. The survey activity of larvae showed that Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae were identified in 13.3% of the houses, mostly found in bathtubs, water shelters and water container of water dispensers.
