Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the timing and thickness of the manggar flower stalk cutting on the production of coconut sap water produced by Pasar IV Namo Terasi Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with the first factor consisting of 2 levels, namely W1 (slashed in the morning) and W2 (slashed in the afternoon). The second factor consists of 5 levels including K1 (slice thickness 2.0 mm), K2 (slice thickness 4.0 mm), K3 (slice thickness 6.0 mm) K4 (slice thickness 8.0 mm) and K5 (slice thickness 10.0 mm and 3 test. Data analysis results show that the tapping time in the afternoon is better and the production is more than in the morning. While the thickness of the incision on the stem of the coconut flower manggar is the best at a thickness of 10 mm.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the internal factors and external factors that influence the strategy for developing management of shallot (allium ascalonicum) farming management in Minta Kasih Village, Salapian District, Langkat Regency. The problem is focused on how internal factors and external factors influence the management strategy of shallot farming management. In order to approach this problem, a theoretical reference from Management is used as art containing aesthetic meaning, beauty, harmonization, and making us more efficient for its users. Onion plants can be planted in the yard of the house to produce onions that can be used by the family. The data were collected through a survey and analyzed qualitatively. This study concludes that the internal factors of strength are natural resources, house yards, human resources, harvest season, group of mothers, and access to transportation. Internal factors of weakness are seeds, marketing, farmer partnerships, processing, and plant maintenance. External factors are opportunities, namely: the location of the cultivation yard, demand, farming profits and onion quality. External threat factors are: climate change, pests and diseases and prices.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development model of sustainable shallot farming in Payung Village, Payung District, Karo Regency. The research method uses qualitative and quantitative approaches with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, field observations, and surveys. The research sample includes shallot farmers, agricultural extension workers, and related stakeholders. The results of the study show that the development of sustainable shallot farming requires a comprehensive strategy that pays attention to ecological, economic, and social aspects. The key factors identified include: Implementation of environmentally friendly cultivation practices, Efficient management of land resources, Use of superior seeds and appropriate agricultural technology, Access to adequate capital and markets, and Institutional empowerment of farmers. Internal factors that become strengths are natural resource parameters, farmer experience parameters, shallot production parameters and land area parameters. The dominant force influencing the development of shallot farming in the research area is natural resources. Internal factors that are weaknesses are farmer capital parameters, onion seed parameters, input use parameters and farmer partnership parameters. The most dominant weakness is farmer capital. External factors of opportunities are market demand parameters, farming profit parameters, agroindustry infrastructure and supporting facilities parameters and support parameters for groups and extension workers. The most dominant opportunity is market demand. Recommended development models include: ongoing technical assistance, farmer capacity building, product diversification, and strengthening partnerships between farmers, the government, and the private sector. This research is expected to contribute to increasing productivity, sustainability, and welfare of shallot farmers in the region

Abstract

Eggplant production in Indonesia is still low and only accounts for 1% of the world's needs, this is because the cultivation culture is still not intensive. Infertile soil is also a factor in low eggplant production. In order for growth to be good, it must look at the ideal growing conditions and nutrients in the soil. This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of liquid organic fertilizer in increasing the growth and production of purple eggplant plants. The research design applied is a non-factorial Randomized Group Design (RGD) consisting of 1 factor, namely Liquid Organic Fertilizer, with 4 experimental levels, namely P0 (0 ml /l water), P1 (50 ml /l water), P2 (100 ml /l water), P3 (150 ml /l water). The results showed that the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer had a very significant effect on all variables observed, except the number of fruits, fruit weight and production weight were not significantly different. LOF treatment with a concentration of 150 ml/l water gave the best results on the parameters of plant height, stem diameter, number of flowers, number of fruits, fruit length, fruit weight, production weight and production ha/ton
