Community service in the form of utilization of yard with longan planting was held in Klambir Lima Kebun Village from May to July 2017. The main purpose of this activity was to plant the fruit in the house yard of villagers. In addition, the specific target was to increase knowledge about the benefits of longan fruit by utilizing yard, and the expected results were the fulfilment of vitamin intake and the beautiful environment for people in the village.It is expected that the implementation of this activity would encourage villagers to utilize land around the yard of their houses. A yard in the village has not been utilized optimally to plant fruits by the villagers.Various sizes and forms of the yard can be used to plant healthy fruits, such as longan fruit. Methods used in this community service were lectures, discussions, and implementation of longan planting. The result of this activity was that the villagers planted longan seedlings in their house yard.

The main problem in ricefields on North Sumatra has been changing function of this area to oil palm plantations which continuities every year, on the other hand, we need foods are increase with following the increase of population from year to year. Although the North Sumatra food data’s shown that it has been fulfilling in self-sufficiency food, instead of rice production surplus for the region, but the program to increase production must be continuously, in order to survive with the surplus or more increase for the future. Some of efforts are, like using marginal land, planting rice under oil palm plants and rubber as well as using the house roof to planting the rice. This research was used a Split Plot Design (RPT) with 5 replications. As Main Plots (PU) are rice varieties (Inpari Sidenuk and Mekongga) and Sub Plots (AP), namely application time (one week before IM, during IM and one week after IM). PBZ was applied at concentration 400 ppm evenly distributed to plants. Fertilizers were used N (urea), P (TSP) and K (KCl) with government recommended doses, where P and K fertilizers were applied as basic fertilizer while N was applied at 3 times. Control of pests, diseases and weeds were carried out according to basic standards, namely using pesticides if the attack has exceeded the economic threshold. Vegetative growth was measured; plant height, stem diameter and flag leaf area. For plant height before application PBZ was given the same results (not significantly different) but after application, the best time was founded a week before IM. Likewise the measurement results for the diameter of the stem was given significantly different results among the time of application before IM compared to IM and after IM. Unlike results with the parameters of flag leaf area, which was the highest number founded in the application after IM and significantly different compared before IM and at IM, respectively. Interactions between varieties and time application of PBZ did not given significantly different. The conclution that the PBZ application before IM was given good and significantly results as compared to after and during IM, respectively.

Tujuan pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat adalah melakukan pebinaan kepada masyarakat desa untuk memanfaatan lahan pekarangan rumah, dengan penanaman tanaman sirsak yang bermanfaat bagi keluarga dan dapat menambah pendapatan keluarga. Hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah masyarakat desa mendapat pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan rumah, yang mana selama ini pekarangan rumah di Desa Durin Tonggal kurang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat. Lahan pekarangan dengan berbagai bentuk dan luas dapat dimanfaatkan dengan tanaman yang berguna, salah satunya tanaman buah sirsak. Keluarga dapat langsung mengkonsumsikan, bila berlebih dapat dijual untuk menambah pendapatan keluarga.Lahan pekarangan rumah bisa bertambah nilai keindahanya bila di tanam dan ditata dengan baik. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat berupa diskusi dan praktek penanaman pohon buah sirsak lahan pekarangan rumah.

Abstract : Housewives usually only do activities around the house, such as washing, sweeping, cooking, taking care of children and others. The income received in the household is usually only waiting for the husband's income, which may be mediocre. Like the activities carried out by the people in Berastagi Kab. Karo who only depends on the income of her husband. Even though the opportunity to get additional income is very large, such as in the tourism & agricultural sector. With the internet, mothers can do online business as a sideline. Online business can include promotion of lodging, sales of accessories/souvenirs, sales of fruit, vegetables, etc. However, the situation analysis obtained by the PKM team found that the Lau Gumba community lacked knowledge, especially mothers, about the use of science and technology and online business. Therefore, the PKM program by optimizing online business opportunities carried out by housewives makes it possible to increase additional income during the current covid pandemic. Keywords: online business; housewife; internet. Abstrak : Para ibu rumah tangga biasanya hanya mengerjakan kegiatan di seputaran lingkungan rumah, seperti mencuci, menyapu, memasak, mengurus anak dan lain sebagianya. Pendaptan yang diterima dalam rumah tangga biasanya hanya menunggu penghasilan suami yang mungkin pas-pasan. Seperti kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh para ibu di Berastagi Kab. Karo yang hanya bergantung dari pendapatan para suaminya. Padahal peluang untuk mendapatkan pendapatan tambahan sangatlah besar seperti pada sektor wisata & pertaniannya. Dengan adanya internet maka para ibu dapat melakukan bisnis online sebagai pendapatan sampingan. Bisnis online dapat meliputi promosi tempat penginapan, penjualan asesories/cendramata, penjualan buah, sayuran dll. Namun analisa situasi yang di peroleh tim PKM mendapatkan minimnya pengetahuan masyarakat Lau Gumba khususnya para ibu tentang pemanfatan IPTEK dan bisni Online. Maka dari itu program PKM dengan mengoptimalkan peluang bisnis online yang dilakukan oleh para ibu rumah tangga memungkinkan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan tambahan di masa pendemi Covid-19 seperti sekarang ini.Kata Kunci : bisnis online; ibu rumah tangga; internet.

Abstract: One of the family businesses that can be done during the COVID-19 pandemic is to utilize the land around the residence. Land use can be done using hydroponic technology. The use of the yard as a family business in people's homes in Lau Gumba Village is very less. So it needs to be used more optimally. The location of service is held in Lau Gumba Village, Berastagi District, Karo Regency. The method carried out in the service is by way of lectures and direct practice about hydroponics. The results of the service that has been carried out are that the people of Lau Gumba Village respond by attending lectures and hydroponic practices. Holding this service, knowledge, and information about hydroponics can help them in hydroponics. This simple hydroponics is easy for the people of Lau Gumba Village to do.Keywords: empowerment; hydroponics; of the yard.Abstract: Salah satu usaha keluarga yang dapat dilakukan pada masa pademi covid-19 adalah dengan memanfaatkan lahan-lahan disekitar tempat tinggal. Pemanfaatan lahan dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknologi hidroponik. Pemanfaatan pekarangan sebagai usaha keluarga di rumah-rumah masyarakat di Desa Lau Gumba sangat kurang. Sehingga perlu dimanfaatkan lebih maksimal lagi. Lokasi Pengabdian dilaksanakan di Desa Lau Gumba Kecamatan Berastagi Kabupaten Karo. Metode yang dilakukan pada pengabdian dengan cara ceramah dan praktek langsung tentang hidroponik. Hasil Pengabdian yang telah dilakukan bahwa masyarakat Desa Lau Gumba merespon dengan mengikuti ceramah dan praktek hidroponik. Dengan diadakan pengabdian ini maka pengetahuan dan informasi tentang hidroponik ini dapat membantu mereka dalam berhidroponik. Soursop plants is a plant that grows wild, then developed into a yard plant. Soursop plants (Annona muricata L.) grow in tropical climates and can adapt well to lowlands up to 800 m above sea level. This study aims to determine the effect of multi-functional liquid fertilizer on soil fertility in soursop plants (Annona muricata L.) from shoot joints. This research was conducted on Jl Madura, Kelurahan Pahlawan, North Binjai District, Binjai City, Noorth Sumatra Province, from January 2023 to March 2023. This study used the Non-Factorial Group Randomized Design (GRD) experimental method with 4 leves of treatment (without liquid fertilizer treatment, 2 ml/ liter of water, 4 ml/ liter of water, and 6 ml/ liter of water) so that there were 16 experimental units. Each experimental unit consists of 3 sample plants, so that the total plant size is 48 experimental units. Observation variables in this study include plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of branches, trunk diameter, and branch length. The result showed that the effect of applying multi-functional liquid fertilizer at a dose of 6 ml/ liter of water had a significantly different influence on the age of soursop plants three months after transplanting on plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of branches, trunk diameter, and branch length. This is significantly different from the dose of liquid fertilizer 0, 2 ,and 4 ml/ liter of water.

Applying organic fertilizers can improve the physical and biological properties of the soil. One of the organic fertilizers that can be used is chicken manure with the addition of POC vegetable waste. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying organic chicken manure and POC vegetable waste on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays Saccharata). This study used a factorial randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors with 16 combinations and 3 blocks. The first factor is the application of organic chicken manure (A), which consists of 4 levels. 0 g/plot, 700 g/plot, 1400 g/plot, 2100 g/plot. The second factor is the provision of POC of vegetable waste (S) which consists of 4 levels, namely, 0 ml/liter of water/plot, 300 ml/liter of water/plot, 500 ml/liter of water/plot, 700 ml/liter of water/plot.The parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), cob length (cm), cob diameter (cm) and production weight using klobot per plot (g). The results showed that the application of organic chicken manure had a significant effect on Production weight parameters used husks per plot (g) and had no significant effect on plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), cob length (cm) and cob diameter (cm).

Tanaman sirsak (Annona muricata L.) tumbuh pada daerah beriklim tropis dan dapat beradaptasi baik dataran rendah sampai 800 m dpl. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pupuk cair multi fungsi terhadap kesuburan tanah pada tanaman sirsak (Annona muricata L.) hasil sambung pucuk. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jl Madura, kelurahan Pahlawan, Kecamatan Binjai utara, Kota Binjai, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, pada bulan Januari 2023 sampai dengan Maret 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode percobaan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Non Faktorial dengan 4 taraf perlakuan (tanpa perlakuan pemberian pupuk cair, 2 ml/ liter air, 4 ml/ liter air, dan 6ml/ liter air) sehingga terdapat 16 satuan percobaan. Setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 3 tanaman sampel, sehingga total keselurah tanaman 48 unit percobaan. Variabel pengamatan pada penelitian ini meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, jumlah cabang, diameter batang, dan Panjang cabang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh pemberian pupuk cair multi fungsi pada dosis 6 ml/liter air memberikan pengaruh berbeda nyata pada saat umur tanaman sirsak tiga bulan setelah pindah tanam terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, jumlah cabang, diameter batang, dan panjang cabang. Hal ini berbeda nyata dengan dosis pemberian pupuk cair 0, 2, dan 4 ml/ liter air.

Durian (Durio zibethinus) is an annual plant that requires nutrients for its growth. This research was conducted from August 2022 to November 2022 on Jl. Madura, Pahlawan Village, North Binjai District, Binjai City, North Sumatra Province with an altitude of 28 meters above sea level. This study used a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 4 treatment levels. The level of treatment of multi-function liquid fertilizer (D) consists of 4 treatment levels, namely: D0 = 0 ml/liter of water, D1 = 2 ml/liter of water, D2 = 4 ml/liter of water, D3 = 6 ml/liter of water. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of branches, branch length, stem diameter. The results of the research on giving multifunctional liquid fertilizer to durian plants had a very significant effect on the plant height parameter at the level of D3 = 6 ml/liter of water. INTISARI Durian (Durio zibethinus) merupakan salah satu tanaman tahunan yang membutuhkan unsur hara dalam pertumbuhannya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2022 sampai November 2022 di Jl. Madura, Kelurahan Pahlawan, Kecamatan Binjai Utara, Kota Binjai, Provinsi Sumatera Utara dengan ketinggian 28 mdpl. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Non Faktorial dengan 4 taraf perlakuan. Taraf perlakuan pemberian pupuk cair multi fungsi (D) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu: D0 = 0 ml/liter air, D1 = 2 ml/liter air, D2 = 4 ml/liter air, D3 = 6 ml/liter air. Adapun parameter yang diamati yaitu Tinggi Tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, jumlah cabang, panjang cabang, diameter batang. Hasil penelitian pemberian pupuk cair multifungsi pada tanaman durian berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman pada taraf D3 = 6 ml/liter air.

Desa Naman Jahe merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Salapian, Kabupaten Langkat. Desa ini termasuk dalam pantauan pemerintah Kabupaten Langkat karena adanya masalah stunting. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan penulis berkeinginan melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan memberikan suatu pengetahuan kepada masyarakat tentang bagaimana budidaya hidroponik, manfaat hidroponik dan jenis media tanam hidroponik yang dimanfaatkan dari limbah padat tanaman kelapa sawit yaitu tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKS) yang banyak terdapat di sekitar desa. Sosialisasi disampaikan pada masyarakat yang tidak memiliki lahan ataupun mempunyai lahan yang tidak luas. Selain dapat menyelesaikan masalah stunting, hidroponik juga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan Masyarakat apabila dilakukan secara berkelanjutan. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini yaitu sosialisasi agar pengetahuan yang disampaikan dapat lebih dipahami oleh masyarakat. Dari Kegiatan sosialisasi pemanfaaan TKS ini dilanjutkan dengan pelaksanaan budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik di desa Naman Jahe.
