Abstract

Partial discharge is a very serious problem that should be monitored quickly. The cause of Partial discharge failure is due to the presence of voids filled with gas/air in the insulation material. Partial discharge can also be regarded as losses because it can reduce the quality of the insulation material. This study aims to detect partial discharge using the Fluke ii910 Sonic Industrial Imager. Tests in this study using descriptive quantitative research methods. From the tests that have been carried out, it can be concluded that using the Fluke ii910 Sonic Industrial Imager can make it easier to find partial discharges on the insulator and minimize the impact of interference caused by partial discharges

Abstract

The distribution line is the section of the electricity line that is closest to the community; it is divided into two parts: primary and secondary distribution lines. PLN primary distribution voltages are 20 KV, 12 KV, and 6 KV. The primary distribution voltage that PLN typically produces is 20 kV. The purpose of this study is to use FTA to determine the main causes of disturbances in the electricity distribution line at ULP Binjai Timur (Fault Tree Analysis). The large difference between the electrical energy sent from the substation and the electrical energy obtained from customer consumption demonstrates the study's findings. The following are the causes of these disturbances: component JTM (I1) with as many as 55 faults (12.5 percent), JTM equipment (I2) with as many as 30 faults (6.7 percent), transformer faults (I3) with as many as 8 faults (1.8 percent), natural disturbances (I4) as many as 1 disturbance (0.2 percent), external disturbances (E1) as many as 15 disturbances (3 percent), natural disasters (E2) as many as 61 disturbances (13.7 percent), the work of other parties/animals (58.2 percent). After conducting research on the causes of disturbances in the electricity distribution line at ULP Binjai Timur and analyzing the data with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), it was discovered that the main cause of disturbance is a human disturbance, manifested as kites, banners, and digging PDAM channels

Abstract

THe electric current limiter serves to limit the use of electricity in each room so that it does not affect electricity usage activities that occur outside the room. Restrictions can be done using an Arduino microcontroller by utilizing the ACS712 sensor in reading the use of current passing through the cable. This prototype is made with the ability to withstand a 200-watt electrical load so that in the event of excessive use, the Arduino will signal to the relay to take the action of disconnecting the electric current. The relay will disconnect the electric current within a few seconds to give the user the opportunity to reduce the load used through the cable. The relay will then turn on again and Arduino will check the electric current again and if there is no decrease in the use of electric current, then Arduino will again give a breaker signal to the relay.

Abstract

The power system disturbance that occurred at the Nias power plant due to overcurrent caused a trip to the Nias Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG) generator. This causes a decrease in frequency due to the system losing power supply. Frequency interference can be detected automatically with UFR (Under Frequency Relay). The working principle of UFR is to compare the value of the frequency system and the value of the frequency setting which determines the amount of load removed. This study analyzes the performance of UFR on the Nias island power system by simulating a decrease in UFR resulting in a decreased frequency system state.

Abstract

The Generator Set consists of the Engine (Motor Propulsion) and also the Generator / Alternator, as previously explained. This engine uses fuel in the form of Diesel (Diesel Engine) or can also use Gasoline, while the Generator itself is a coil of wire made of copper consisting of a static coil or stator and is also equipped with a rotating coil or rotor. In the process of working, according to physics, the engine rotates the rotor in a generator which then causes a magnetic field in the coil section of the generator. Furthermore, this magnetic field will then interact with the rotor which will then rotate and will produce an electric current which is in accordance with Lorentz's law.

Abstract

Direct torque control(DTC) of the induction motor is inclined to a specified value of torque. The torque provided is a speed output regulator, therefore it is mandatory to continue tuning to adjust the Kp, Ki parameters. In conventional proportional-integral (PI) speed controllers, motor performance may differ over time which may lead to torque disturbance uncertainty, causing sluggishness of the flux response so the choice of PID parameters is important for DTC systems. In this paper we present a control technique using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to improve the parameters (Kp, Ki) of the speed controller to reduce torque ripple, stator flux distortion ripple and fast response of rotor speed. Unlike conventional designs, this method is capable of achieving the desired control performance. The closed-loop speed control in DTC for induction motors uses the PSO technique thus providing a practical level of accuracy. The results show good features and strong exemplary in dynamic system response and reduction in motor torque and transients.

Abstract

Power plants that are located far from community settlements produce their advantages and advantages for electrical energy providers. The non-strategic position makes the producers of electrical energy have to deliver electrical energy to the users or customers who use electrical energy. The power flow calculation system is used to find out how much voltage, current, real power, and reactive power are received by the receiving side. The research method used is the research data approach so that it is by the data in the field. From the results of the above calculations, it can be seen that the difference in the calculation between the MATLAB M-file and the MATLAB Simulink there is a difference in the calculation of the voltage on the bus load 2 of -0.0012 Pu. The difference in calculation data can also be seen in the slack bus which has an active power of 0.02 Pu and reactive power of 0.03 Pu. The difference in calculation data can also be seen in bus load 1 which has an active power of 5.89 Pu and reactive power of 47.29 Pu. The difference in calculation data can also be seen in bus load 2 which has an active power of 60.89 Pu and reactive power of 38.79 Pu.

Abstract

In today's era, the need for telecommunication, information and entertainment facilities that can be accepted and have high performance is definitely very much needed. To fulfill this, a network that supports its performance is needed. For now the network that is able to provide the best performance is optical fiber. In Indonesia itself, there is a rise in the deployment of fiber optic cables directly to the house or called FTTH. The city of Medan is one of the cities that is densely populated, especially for the North Sumatra area. With these conditions, the FTTH network design is suitable to be implemented in this location. In the design, a survey using GPS will be developed into Google Earth and AutoCad data. In the design data can be estimated about the number of devices, specifications and position of the placement of the device from the STO to the position of the customer. This data is to be developed along with calculation data based on FTTH GPON. In the design of the FTTH GPON network, the direct measurement results obtained the Power Link Budget value of -18.283 dBm for the downlink (-8.248) ns for the uplink at the farthest point, and the Rise Time Budget, which was measured at the farthest point. The Rise Time Budget is <70% with a value of (0.363) nm for Downlink and (0.251) ns for Uplink.

Abstract

Modernization is essential for technology, including electricity billing procedures, so PLN applies two systems, namely the prepaid system and the postpaid system. So this requires PLN to record customer meter data to each customer's house in an efficient way so that a system is needed to record customer meter data and can send it directly to a server called the Centralized Meter Record Application (ACMT) with a system that has been now integrated with AP2T and can be accessed online. This application is designed to be used on the android platform. This ACMT system, will be able to speed up the distribution of meter record data to the server. It can make it easier to evaluate and correct customer meter data.
