Abstract

Abstract

Limited utilization of household yards and low optimization of horticultural crops remain obstacles to strengthening family economies at the sub-district level. Dasawisma (Family Gardening Group) holds a strategic position as a social unit closely connected to household activities and has the potential to become a driver of the local resource-based economy. This community service program aims to strengthen the role of Dasawisma groups as drivers of the family economy through optimizing horticultural crops in their yards. Implementation methods include outreach, short-term horticultural cultivation training, practical planting assistance, and simple financial record-keeping training. The results of the activity indicate an increase in participants' knowledge about horticultural cultivation, an increased interest in managing their yards effectively, and a strengthening of Dasawisma's collective awareness as household economic agents. This program contributes to changing the community's perspective on yards as economic assets. It was concluded that educational interventions and participatory mentoring were effective in encouraging yard optimization and strengthening Dasawisma's role as drivers of the local economy.

Abstract

The utilization of home yard land is one of the efforts that can be undertaken to improve household food security and economic resilience. However, in Buntu Burake Village, the utilization of home yards has not been optimal due to the limited knowledge of the community regarding cultivation techniques and simple farm management. This activity aims to empower the community and farmer groups through education on home yard vegetable cultivation as well as strengthening household-scale farm management. The method used is a participatory and applicative approach that actively involves the community in the planning, implementation, and evaluation processes of the program. The activities were carried out through socialization on yard utilization, training on vegetable cultivation using raised bed technology, and education on farm business analysis and simple financial record-keeping. The results of the activity indicate an increase in the community's knowledge and skills in utilizing home yards productively. The community has begun to apply vegetable cultivation techniques in their yards and understand the economic potential of harvests that can be used for household consumption or sold to surrounding communities. This program provides positive implications for improving household food security and strengthening the household economy in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Background: Remuneration systems in private universities often lack transparency and performance-based incentives, leading to perceived inequity among structural officials—those in formal academic and managerial leadership positions. At Universitas Kristen Indonesia Toraja (UKI Toraja), the existing compensation system is primarily determined by position classification and length of service, without systematically evaluating the actual complexity and responsibilities of each role. This administrative approach fails to reflect genuine contributions, thereby undermining motivation, internal equity, and institutional competitiveness. Objective: This study aims to develop a performance-based remuneration model for structural officials in private universities through a case study at Universitas Kristen Indonesia Toraja. Methods: A qualitative case study was conducted at Universitas Kristen Indonesia Toraja through document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and a limited confirmatory questionnaire. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis following Corbin and Strauss, with triangulation across interview, documentary, and questionnaire data sources to enhance validity. Results: The findings indicate that the application of the Factor Evaluation System (FES) is relevant for objectively assessing positions based on responsibilities and work complexity rather than personal attributes. The adaptation of the nine FES dimensions results in a more holistic assessment of academic and managerial roles in private universities. The nine-level scoring system (1–9) improves fairness, transparency, and accuracy in job grading and strengthens the linkage between performance and compensation. Conclusion: The adaptive FES model constitutes a strategic instrument for merit-based human resource governance in private universities. It offers a replicable framework for institutions seeking to align structural compensation with performance, responsibility, and institutional values.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an integrated strategic budgeting model for Private Universities (PTS) with a case study at the Indonesian Christian University of Toraja. Although UKI Toraja has implemented a digital financial system and activity-based budgeting (ABB), the relationship between budget allocation and strategic objectives has not been fully identified as required in performance-based budgeting (PBB). This study uses a qualitative approach through document analysis, in-depth interviews, and observation of the budgeting process to examine the characteristics of the current budgeting system and the internal-external factors that affect it. The results show that UKI Toraja has a good financial system foundation, but still needs to strengthen performance indicators, consolidate cross-unit planning, and results-based evaluation mechanisms. These findings are the basis for formulating an integrated strategic budgeting model that synergizes ABB, UN principles, and institutional development directions. The novelty of the research lies in the thorough integration between the budgeting system and the institutional strategy designed according to the context of Indonesian private universities. The resulting model is expected to be a reference for private universities in increasing the effectiveness of resource allocation and achieving strategic goals.

Editing and rechecking the collected data, especially regarding completeness, clarity of meaning, and consistency of meaning between variables. 2. Organizing and arranging the data collected into the required structure. 3. Analyzing: applying accepted theories, methodologies, and principles to further analyze the results of data organization to reach conclusions that answer the research objectives. According to the study's findings, employee engagement and organizational culture dimensions interact to generate organizational culture engagement. The work environment that affects employee behavior and attitudes is shaped by aspects of organizational culture, including roles, accomplishments, support, innovation and risk-taking, attention to detail, results orientation, people orientation, team orientation, stability, and aggressiveness.
