Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh waktu perendaman dan waktu hidrodistilasi yang paling optimum untuk mendapat minyak esensial gaharu dengan kualitas paling baik. Perlakuan perendaman dilakukan dengan memvariasikan waktu perendaman yang terdiri dari 14,16,18,20 dan 22 hari. Dari perlakuan tersebut diketahui bahwa waktu optimum untuk perendaman gaharu adalah 18 hari hal ini terjadi akibat air rendaman yang mulai menjadi lebih asam seiring berjalannya waktu sehingga membuat bubuk gaharu menjadi terkorosi atau biasa disebut efek hidrasi. Waktu terbaik untuk menghasilkan rendemen yang banyak adalah 10 jam karena semakin lama bahan baku mengalami proses pemanasan maka proses difusi menjadi semakin meningkat sehingga proses hidrodistilasi menjadi lebih optimal.

Abstract

Development and innovation for both antimicrobial functional packaging (active packaging and nanocomposite materials) from renewable polymers. This study aims to include ZnO nanoparticles in PLA (Polylactic Acid) paper layers in antimicrobial packaging applications. The method used for the manufacture of ZnO nanoparticles is the precipitation method and heating method in the manufacture of PLA-ZnO nanocomposite by varying 0.5%, 2% and 3.5% ZnO NP. The results obtained are in SEM images showing that the nanoparticles are distributed homogeneously on the surface. Antimicrobial tests showed that nanocomposite worked effectively in deactivating E. coli and S. aureus. Furthermore, E. coli was found to be more susceptible to this type of nanocomposite, showing a reduction of 3.4 log to 3.5% ZnO loading in the PLA layer. Based on the results, it can be explained that the ZnO nanoparticles have several active mechanisms, and different antimicrobial testing methods can only activate some of the mechanisms. In addition, nano-activated packaging materials for food contact applications and market prospects are analyzed.

Abstract

Research on the development of plastic wrap cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) aims to study the elasticity and anti-bacterial properties of the plastic produced. Functionally, CNC is needed to increase the dispersion of the nanofiller in the polymer matrix and influence the final properties of the nanocomposites. The method used for the particle dispersion process is the grafting method. This method integrates the chemical structure of the monomer grafted onto cellulose which will affect the properties of grafted cellulose such as hydrophilic and hydrophobic characters, increased elasticity, absorption of dyes and water, the ability to exchange ion and heat resistance. Another material added is Poly ε-caprolactone (PCL) because it is an interesting biodegradable polymer and has been widely used because it increases the flexibility of PLA, avoids the effect of plasticizers during processing and avoids the phenomenon of migration. The novelty of this research is the addition of fragrant lemongrass oil as an anti-bacterial agent. Chemical components such as geraniol and linalol are the main components that act as anti-bacterial agents based on positive and gram-negative bacterial tests using Bacillusubtilis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonia and Escherichia coli. To determine the final properties of the product in the form of recyclable plastic wrap, mechanical tests such as thermal resistance (TGA), XRD, tensile strength and SEM were performed. The results of these tests will be used as parameters prior to their application in the extractive industry.Keywords—  Citronella, Plastic, PLA, PCL, Plasticizer

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kemasan aktif, juga dikenal sebagai Kemasan Cerdas dan Kemasan Cerdas, dimaksudkan untuk mendeteksi dan memperingatkan pembusukan atau kemungkinan masalah dalam makanan kemasan. Sistem ini berfungsi sebagai indikator kualitas untuk menjamin keamanan pangan dan dibagi menjadi dua jenis: langsung (kelembaban, waktu-suhu, kesegaran, kerusakan, dan biosensor) dan pasif (ketertelusuran dan pelacakan). Karena perbedaan kimia, informasi kualitatif yang diberikan oleh penanda ini berbeda. Reaksi atau perkembangan mikrobiologi sebagai akibat dari waktu dan proses. Interaksi antara metabolit yang dihasilkan oleh pertumbuhan mikroba dan bahan kimia indikator memberikan sinyal visual serta informasi tentang degradasi. Bahan polimer telah menjadi bagian dari peradaban kontemporer selama beberapa dekade, memungkinkan pengembangan bidang kegiatan baru dan penerapan bidang kerja baru. Komposisi 0,9 g Kitosan: 0,1 g Katekin dengan gugus C - H, O - H, C = O, dan C - O memberikan hasil terbaik. Tes SEM menunjukkan permukaan yang halus dengan ikatan antarmuka yang baik terbentuk antara matriks dan pengisi; namun masih terdapat residu kitosan yang tidak larut karena proses pencampuran yang tidak homogen dan penggunaan pelarut yang tidak kompatibel. Kata kunci : PLA; PCL; Kitosan; katekin; FT-IR

Abstract

ABSTRACT Along with the development of modern industries such as the perfume, cosmetic, food, aromatherapy and pharmaceutical industries, the world's need for essential oils is increasing every year. Several parameters developed in this article include the effect of pressure (1, 2, 4, 6, 8) mmHg and time (20, 40, 60) minutes until final boiling point on the volume of oil produced and geraniol concentration. The analysis carried out was GCMS analysis and bacterial activity in the application of perfume products. From the research results it was found that at 1 atm pressure the geraniol concentration increased by 50% to 80.11%. Apart from these compounds, other compounds were also obtained such as citronellol, rhodinol and cheprol. at this pressure also produced the highest product volume of 21.2 ml. The application of the product resulting from the vacuum distillation process in the form of an anti-bacterial perfume at an incubation time of 48 hours has the strongest anti-bacterial activity with a diameter of 10.13 mm against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.Keywords: Characterization, Citronella Oil, Vacuum Distillation, Perfume, Terpene

Abstract

Abstract Tutoring is guidance that aims to assist individuals in facing difficulties when studying. There are many teaching methods used by an educator to make children interested and enthusiastic in learning. These methods include singing and playing methods. The purpose of this study was to find out the benefits of free tutoring using the singing and playing method. This study uses a qualitative approach. In collecting data, this study used the observation method. Observations were made to find out the benefits of the singing and playing method when carried out in tutoring. Abstract

By applying literature study to several journals and books, this article aims to urge collaboration among many other recordkeeping professionals, not only archivists, through an establishment of School of Information (iSchool). Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an infectious disease transmitted through the Aedes aegypti mosquito. DHF cases in Cirebon City show a significant increase every year. This study aims to classify dengue prone areas based on case data per health center in 2020-2024 obtained from the Cirebon City Health Office. The method used is the K-Means algorithm with the Knowledge Discovery in Database (KDD) approach, which includes data selection, preprocessing, data transformation, data mining, evaluation, and knowledge. Evaluation using Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI) showed optimal results at k = 6 with a DBI value of -0.445. The clustering results produced six clusters: cluster 5 (437 dengue cases in 34 health centers) showed high risk; cluster 0 (244 cases), cluster 2 (129 cases), and cluster 3 (279 cases) showed medium risk; while cluster 1 (69 cases) and cluster 4 (86 cases) showed low risk. This study shows that the K-Means algorithm is effective in identifying DHF risk distribution patterns and provides a strategic basis for the Cirebon City Health Office to prioritize interventions and develop more effective prevention strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate how effective group counseling is in developing students' self-confidence, as well as identifying various techniques that can be used in the process in the school environment. The research method uses a literature review, which focuses mainly on the analysis of various library sources. The results of the review found that group counseling has indeed been proven to be able to develop students' self-confidence. There are various techniques that can be applied in group counseling sessions to support the development of students' self-confidence, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Self-Instruction, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Group Discussion, Cognitive Restructuring, Self Talk, Cinema Therapy, Experiential Learning, and the Client Centered approach. The application of these techniques in group counseling sessions is believed to be able to help students in forming and strengthening their self-confidence.
