Abstract

Prescribing drugs is now growing, as evidenced by the existence of electronic prescribing that have been applied in several hospitals and pharmacies. The development of this prescribing method does not rule out the possibility of increasing the incidence of medication errors in prescribing. So, it is necessary to identify the prescribing that has been implemented, especially in drugstore at Palu City. The purpose of this study was to look at the comparison of medication errors at the prescribing stage which included aspects of prescribing completeness and therapeutic errors in electronic prescribing at Drugstore X and manual prescribing at Drugstore Y in Palu city in 2018. This type of research is a descriptive study with retrospective data collection. Samples taken in the form of secondary data are prescribing using purposive sampling method. The results obtained in this study are, the prevalence of medication error at the prescribing stage of electronic prescribing in drugstore at Palu City includes data,  patient's body weight is 2%, doctor's license 100%, doctor's telephone number 100%, doctor's initial 100%, dosage form 97% and 90% strength of the drug. While the prevalence of medication error at the prescribing stage of manual prescribing in Drugstore Palu City is data, the patient's age is 2%, the patient's body weight is 99.1%, the patient's sex is 100%, the doctor's license is 91.6%, the doctor's telephone number is 80% , initial doctor 42.7%, 88% dosage form and 65% drug strength. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of electronic prescribing is better than manual prescribing.

Abstract

One of the chronic complications of diabetes mellitus is a disorder of macrovascular as hypertension so that in it’s medicinal treatment required therapy with multiple drugs all at once that can lead to drug interactions. Drug interactions can result in increased toxicity and decrease the effectiveness of drugs that interact. This study aims to determine the prescription profile of DM patients with hypertension include the number of drugs prescribed, dosage forms, classes and types of drugs and the incidence of drug interactions theoretically, based on the mechanism drug interactions in outpatient installations of RSUD Undata Palu 2014. This design research is a non-experimental study with descriptive. Retrieval of patient data performed prospectively during the period from March to June 2014. Subjects who fill the inclusion criteria is adult patients that attain age of 18-60 years and diagnosed diabetes mellitus with hypertension are interview to obtain primary data while the secondary data such as medical records and prescriptions. Retrieved 61 sample. Based on dosage forms prescribe profile that most often given to the DM patients with hypertension was tablets (94.5%). Class of diabetes drugs most widely used is a sulfonylurea (21.1%) and hypertension drug classes beta blocker (12.2%). Types of diabetic drugs most widely used was glimepiride (14.2%) and hypertension was bisoprolol (9.2%). The percentage result of drug interactions theoretically was 85.2% (52 patients), drug interactions type that the most occured was pharmacodynamic interactions 72.7%. Diabetes melitus Patients with hypertension in outpatient installations of RSUD Undata Palu 2014 were most potentially subjected to drug interactions

This was a prospective observational study done by collecting primary data from the observation and secondary data from medical records of pediatric inpatients aged from 1 month to 14 years and diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis with or without dehydration. Data were then analyzed and descriptively presented including drug use without indication, wrong drug, drug dose too low, drug dose loo high, and untreated indication. The results showed that there were 115 cases of DRPs. The most DRPs found was drug use without indication as many as 56 cases (48.7%), while the others successively were drug dose too low 26 cases (22.6%), untreated indication 16 cases (14%), drug dose too high 15 cases (13%), and wrong drug 2 cases (1.7%)

Abstract

Repellents are substances that can provide protection from nuisance insects by interfering with its sensory function. Lanzones fruit is known to contain triterpenoids which have activity as repelan. This study was to examine the repellent activity and to determine protection capacity of lotion containing ethanol extract of lanzones (Lansium parasiticum) peel against  Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. The ethanol extract was obtained by macerating the peel with 96% ethanol. The lotion is prepared in three extract concentrations, 15%; 20%; and 25% followed by its physical stability evaluation and activity examination. Data of pH, viscosity and dispersive capacity evaluation obtained were statistically analyzed using paired samples t-test. The results showed that the lotion preparations are stable on organoleptic observation and homogeneity evaluation. The statistical analysis of pH, viscosity, and the dispersive capacity evaluations showed that their results are significantly different after day 0 to day 28 storage (p> 0.05). Repellent activity examination of the lotion was carried out for 4 hours, using the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Of the three concentrations examined, each concentration has different repellent activity that concentration of 15% and 20% indicated a 100% protection up to 1 minute, and concentration of 25% indicated up to 135 minutes

Abstract

Increased blood pressure above normal will result in increased morbidity and mortality by improving risk factor for other diseases. Data obtained from Undata General Hospital Palu, showed the number of hypertensive patients died in 2016 as many as 513 patients, this number increased in 2017 as many as 637 patients. This study aims to determine the accuracy of the selection of antihypertension therapy and dose as well as determine the effect of antihypertension drugs to decrease blood pressure in hypertensive patients in hozpitalized Undata Generala Hospital Palu in 2016-2017. This study uses a quantitative method with retrospective approach. The results showed that the most significant decrease in blood pressure based on length of stay occurred in patients with 4-7 days of stay ie 42.64/21.17 mmHg and the most significant reduction in blood pressure based on the treatment regimen occurred in three combination antihypertension 57.14/28.57 mmHg with a significance value of<0.05. So we concluded the accuracy of therapy and dose in hypertensive patients based on the guidelines JNCVII showed a patient diagnosed with mild, moderate, and severe hypertension overall proper drug selection and dose received by all patients with hypertension better use of antihypertension drugs singly or in combination in accordance with the standards of the JNCVII, and paired t-test for hypertensive patients with a single drug decreased blood pressure 37.80/16.19 mmHg (p=<0.05), hypertensive patients with two combinations of drugs decreased blood pressure 29.26/18.94 mmHg (p=<0.05) and hypertensive patients with three combinations of drugs decreased blood pressure 57.14/28.5 mmHg (p=<0.05).Keywords: Effectivenes, Drugs Therapy, Undata General Hospital, Hypertension.

Abstract

From year to year, the amounts of gangrene patients continue to gradually increase. This is due to lack of consistent routines in checking blood sugar levels which result in blood sugar levels being uncontrolled. In gangrene patients who do not receive treatments, this will lead to amputation and can reduce the patient's quality of living. This study aims to determine the blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus with gangrene complications in hospitals in Palu City. The method used in the study is cross-sectional with prospective data collection, in which for examination of GDP is implemented using the auto check tool. The results of this study utilized the wilcoxon test to see a decrease in blood glucose levels before and after receiving antidiabetic and insulin therapy. The total research samples consisted of 30 patients within 1 month monitoring duration. From the results of research conducted for 3 months, it showed a significant decrease in fasting patients' blood glucose levels, with an average value before and after using antidiabetic therapy indicated as 285.87 mg / dl and 173.07 mg / dl. It is then concluded that there is a decrease in blood sugar levels in patients who suffer from diabetes mellitus with gangrene complications due to the use of antidiabetic therapy, namely insulin. Keywords: Blood Sugar Levels; Diabetes Mellitus; Gangrene; Insulin.
