Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between physical literacy and the physical fitness levels of ninth-grade students in junior high schools across Garut Regency. This study employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. Physical literacy refers to the integration of motivation, confidence, knowledge, and understanding that enable individuals to engage in lifelong physical activity. Data were collected through the APLQ questionnaire and the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI), employing a survey and physical assessment method with 127 participants. The findings revealed a significant correlation between physical literacy and physical fitness, with a significance value of p = 0.013, indicating that physical literacy plays a role in supporting fitness levels. The conclusion that students with higher levels of physical literacy tend to achieve better physical fitness, while lower levels of physical literacy are often associated with poorer fitness outcomes. This study emphasizes the importance of fostering physical literacy as a means to promote active and healthy lifestyles among students.

Abstract

Research and publications on positive youth development through sport instruction have been widely conducted in various countries. However, this trend does not always reflect the existing conditions. In fact, positive youth development through sport has a significant positive impact on the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the visualization metrics of publications on positive youth development through sport over the past ten years (2013-2023) using the literature review method. Examination using Scopus through the Publish or Perish (PoP) application found only twelve articles (out of a total of 74 articles) that met the VOSviewer visualization analysis criteria. The results of the study showed that the highest publications occurred in 2021 with 56 citations, and in 2018 with 55 citations from two articles each year. VOSviewer visualization confirms that positive youth development through sport instruction has great potential to be further developed with other terms, so that it can more effectively meet the needs of the younger generation. This study presents the results of computational bibliometric mapping of data published in research articles. Future research could consider broader aspects of PYD teaching and link it to other terms to enhance the various aspects that support positive adolescent development.

Abstract

Bibliometric analysis study of published research subjects to see the trend of the number of publications, citation trends, journals with the most publications, researcher trends, and network visualization, overlay visualization and density visualization on the topic of sports in tourism. This research design is in the form of a content analysis based on an Internet search conducted using the Dimensions application, with VOSviewer software, version 1.6.20. The flowchart is used as a reporting item for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA), with step 1 (identification) stage 2 (screening), stage 3 (study eligibility), scopus database taken from 2015 to 2024. Which publications on sports in tourism from year to year increase, then, network visualization identifies areas that emerge from the research domain, namely sports are connected to tourist activity, but sports are not connected to active sport tourism. Thus, novelty for further research on the topic of sports in tourism can be obtained through research on sports associated with active sport tourism. Overlay visualization to see current research trends are yellow terms. For example, recreational sport, sport tourism industry. Furthermore, the visualization of the research density level is shown around the yellow dot, which means that the topic has been widely used in previous research such as sports events, tourism industry, conversely, low weight and density are around the blue dot, which means that the topic is still little used in previous research such as active sport tourism and event tourism. The conclusion, level of scientific article publication shows significant development as seen from the increasing graph from year to year. Likewise, article citations also show an increase.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to determine the development of leadership abilities through a volleyball practice program that is integrated with leadership for positive youth development. The method used is Quasi Experiment Design with The Matching-Only Pre-test-Post-test Control Group Design. The research population consists of school volleyball clubs in Garut Regency which are divided into three groups: 1) a group that takes part in volleyball training with integrated leadership; 2) a group that takes part in volleyball training without leadership integration; and 3) a group that does not participate in volleyball training and is not integrated with leadership. The research samples are teenagers aged 12-25. The instrument used is the Inventory Leadership Identity (ILI). The average pretest score of group A is 43.93, and the average posttest score is 88.48. For group B, the average pretest score was 38.40, with the same average posttest score of 41.48. As for group C, the average pretest score was 25.54, and the average posttest score was 26.08. Based on the results of data processing and analysis, it proves that the group that took part in volleyball training with leadership integration shows a better leadership development for the structured and intentional leadership program.
