Abstract

Students’ challenging behavior becomes one of the big issues in education nowadays and language education is not an exception. Therefore, preparing teachers insight towards the issue is essential as the first step to prevent the issue grows in the future. Positive Behavior Support appears as one of the solutions to this issue in developing countries such as Australia and Singapore in 2011. Supporting this system, the researcher perceived that it is vital to apply this system in the EFL classroom in Indonesia. This paper aims to investigate the instructors’ Reflection using Positive Behavior Support (PBS) in EFL classroom. The research used qualitative study and involved 3 instructors in an institution which applies EFL teaching as the program, also conducted an interview after the workshop and teaching to find more detail information in the data obtained. The finding of the study indicated that PBS in form of workshop positively supported the instructors’ teaching application when they were experiencing real teaching class situation using the support system. The instructors also perceived that having PBS workshop added their knowledge to support students’ behavior in their classroom and in the future positively. Unfortunately, two instructors denoted that they could not apply all the PBS parts in their teaching application since most of the students are adult learners. However, the instructors reported that through the workshop and teaching period they perceived a change in students’ positive behavior and PBS changes their paradigm toward teaching management system.

Abstract

The real condition of the world today is in a phenomenon that brings governments to make a policy in the world of education. The distance learning policy (PJJ) during the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, turned out to be a new problem for education. The implementation of education and learning has undergone drastic changes. Learning is no longer using conventional face-to-face meetings, but is starting to be integrated with online learning. This paper aims to describe learning during a pandemic. This paper also shows that good collaboration between teachers, students, and parents can overcome problems in adapting blended learning methods during a pandemic. The application of the blended learning method in learning requires teachers to be creative in providing a learning platform. The activeness of students in the learning process and parents accompanying students during online learning greatly help the progress and creativity of students during the pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a model for improving people's living standards in Lallonggombuno Village, Kapoila District, Konawe Regency by looking at how it is implemented to help the community in order to increase people's income to improve people's living standards. This study was conducted using a development research model design carried out in the village of Lalonggombuno, one of the villages where the community is classified as having a low income compared to other villages. The results of the study show that the developed model can increase people's income through vocational education by implementing several skills education. Skills education in question is, (1) milkfish processing into, (2) management skills and (3) marketing skills. By providing assistance programs related to basic skills education, the less fortunate can concentrate more on work and as a result can send their children to school. The application of this model is proven to be able to help the community to improve their standard of living in general to be better than the previous conditions. Related to this, it is suggested that local governments pay more attention to the skills of the less fortunate by providing concrete programs through objective observation-based skills education to the field so that the treatment provided can help improve their standard of living.

Abstract

Background. The increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into higher education has transformed students' approaches to learning, particularly in academic writing. While previous studies have primarily examined the effectiveness of AI-assisted writing, limited attention has been given to students' own narratives and lived experiences regarding how these technologies shape their creativity, confidence, and writing practices. Purpose. This study explores student narratives on the use of artificial intelligence tools to enhance creativity and academic writing skills. Specifically, it examines how undergraduate students at Halu Oleo University, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, describe their experiences of using AI writing tools in academic writing courses, focusing on idea generation, writing organization, language improvement, creative engagement, and self-confidence. Method. This study employed a qualitative narrative approach involving fifteen undergraduate students enrolled in an Academic Writing course. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and analysis of students' reflective writing samples. Results. The findings reveal that students consistently described AI tools as valuable learning companions that facilitated idea generation, improved text organization, refined language quality, and strengthened confidence throughout the writing process. Their narratives also demonstrated increased creative engagement and greater willingness to revise and develop academic texts.   Conclusion. Student narratives suggest that artificial intelligence can serve as a meaningful pedagogical resource for enhancing creativity and academic writing skills when integrated within a supportive instructional framework. The findings emphasize that AI should complement rather than replace students' critical thinking and creative processes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The relationship between students’ personal characteristics and English language achievement does not always emerge uniformly in a hybrid learning environment. This study examines the relationship between self-efficacy, learning styles, and English learning outcomes among tenth-grade students at MAN 1 Kendari. A total of 36 students participated in this correlational study, with data collected through self-efficacy and learning style questionnaires as well as documentation of students’ learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using descriptive and correlational statistics with the assistance of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings indicate that students’ self-efficacy generally fell within the moderate category, while the kinesthetic learning style was the most prevalent preference. Overall, self-efficacy did not show a significant relationship with English learning outcomes, nor did learning style. However, when the relationship between self-efficacy and learning outcomes was examined across learning style groups, a different pattern emerged among students with a visual preference. Within this group, self-efficacy showed a strong and positive correlation with learning outcomes (r = 0.630; p = 0.028), whereas the relationships within the kinesthetic and auditory groups were not significant. These findings indicate that the relationship between self-efficacy and English achievement is not independent of context but may vary according to students’ learning characteristics and the learning environment they experience.
