Abstract

Venture capital companies (PMV) not only provide financial financing but also participate in providing strategic direction to investee (PPU), thus providing solutions for PPU in carrying out company operations. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method related to PMV conditions in Indonesia for the 2015-2020 period. As a result, the number of PMVs showed a decreasing trend, but in contrast to the number of PPUs, PMV performance, assets, liabilities and equity showed an increasing trend during the study period. This indicates that PMV in Indonesia is able to grow and develop even though the number of PMV has decreased. It is hoped that PMV can increase the financing of shares and convertible bonds, so that PMV is able to bring micro, small and medium companies to successfully exit and enter the expansion stage either through mergers, acquisitions or IPOs in the capital market.

Abstract

The ultimate goal of development in developing countries is to reduce poverty that can be achieved through increasing welfare. Poverty is a multidimensional phenomenon that become a major challenge in all countries. To reduce poverty and increase community welfare, government intervention programs are needed. One of them is through the provision of cash assistance. The Conditional Cash Transfer program has been widely implemented in some countries. In Indonesia, this program is called the Family Hope Program (PKH). This cash transfer program has a lot of debate as an anti-poverty program. This research wants to see the impact of PKH on reducing poverty and increasing welfare in Indonesia. It used raw data from Susenas and analyzed by SEM-PLS method. The results of this research show that PKH has a negative-significant effect on poverty and a positive-significant impact on welfare in Indonesia. In addition, the results of the analysis also show that poverty has a negative-significant influence on people's welfare in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study empirically investigates the impact of digitalization on sustainable development achievement in Indonesia. The investigation draws upon secondary data, covering annual data from 34 provinces of Indonesia spanning from 2013 to 2021. Digitalization is proxied by the subindices of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Development Index (IP-TIK) published by the Central Statistic Agency (BPS), while the achievements of sustainable development are measured by a composite index employing 19 indicators covering economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Utilizing the System Generalized Method of Moment (SGMM), the results show that the promotion of access to ICT and gross fixed capital income appears to be a way of enhancing sustainable development achievement in the short and long run. Conversely, the increase in ICT usage and foreign direct investment have proved to significantly dampen the sustainable development achievement of Indonesia in the short and long run. Efforts are required to ensure equal access to ICT and to promote the utilization of ICT for productive purposes. Furthermore, strategies to attract foreign capital inflow should be paired with the reinforcement of sectoral and environmental regulations to address the adverse effects of foreign investment.

Abstract

This study explores the dynamics of the international cocoa market and its impact on Indonesian cocoa exports by focusing on economic factors such as domestic production, world prices, inflation, and local prices. The main findings show that for cocoa exports to Malaysia, cocoa production and world cocoa prices have a positive and significant influence on export volumes, where an increase in production and world prices increases exports and strengthens bilateral trade. In contrast, domestic inflation shows no significant effect, while local prices have a significant negative impact, reducing exports as producers prefer the domestic market. In the context of exports to India, cocoa production showed no significant effect, due to a mismatch between increased production and international demand or quality and infrastructure issues. World cocoa prices are also insignificant, while local prices are positive and significant, encouraging producers to increase exports to maximize profits. For exports to the United States, cocoa production is positive and significant, reflecting strong demand from the US market. World cocoa prices have no significant effect, suggesting that other factors such as quality and trade policy determine export volumes more. Inflation is positive and significant, encouraging producers to focus on international markets as a way to coordinate exports.

Abstract

The sustainable development paradigm gives rise to the concept of inclusive green growth. It focuses not only on economic growth but also on social inclusion and environmental sustainability. This study aims to measure inclusive green growth at the provincial level in Indonesia in 2013-2021 and investigate the impact of ICT on it. The composite index method is used in this study to measure inclusive green growth. Furthermore, this research uses panel data regression to examine the impact of ICT on inclusive green growth. The results show that Indonesia's inclusive green growth achievements are still in the moderate category. The provinces in the Eastern Indonesia region tend to have lower achievements in social dimensions. However, in the Western Indonesia region, the provinces tend to have lower achievements in environmental dimensions. The regression analysis showed that utilization of mobile phones and the internet had a significant positive effect on inclusive green growth. On the other hand, computer and fixed telephone ownership had an adverse effect on it. Equitable distribution of ICT development, especially in Eastern Indonesia and rural areas, should be continuously encouraged through investment in ICT and its supporting infrastructure.

Abstract

This study analyzes the characteristics of poor households receiving the Family Hope Program (PKH) and those receiving both PKH and Non-Cash Food Assistance (PKHBPNT) in Indonesia in 2023. Data were obtained from the raw data of the March 2023 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas), focusing on 27,747 poor households. Descriptive analysis and binary logistic regression were used to identify factors influencing the receipt of assistance. The results show that the presence of school-age children, elderly members, and persons with disabilities significantly increases the likelihood of poor households receiving PKH and PKHBPNT. Additionally, poor households in rural areas are more likely to receive assistance compared to those in urban areas. However, several indicators, such as the presence of toddlers, the occupation of the household head, and per capita floor area, do not have a significant influence. These findings indicate biases in the distribution of assistance, where poor households with more complex living conditions tend to receive assistance more frequently. This study recommends improving the selection mechanisms and data updating to enhance the targeting accuracy of social assistance programs, thereby increasing their effectiveness in reducing poverty and improving community welfare.
