Abstract

Abstrak-Fenomena TikTok ‘persalinan’ membuat ketakutan dan keraguan tersendiri bagi kaum perempuan.  Hal ini dikarenakan viralnya konten TikTok yang berdurasi 15 detik mengenai pemeriksaan vagina saat persiapan persalinan yang dikecam sebagai pelecehan seksual. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis tanda dan mengungkap makna dibalik tanda yang membentuk tudingan sebagai unsur pelecehan seksual.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis semiotika tokoh Roland Barthes mengkaji  tigapeta tanda, yakni: makna denotatif, makna konotatif, dan mitos.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tanda denotatif berupa gerakan visual, verbal, dan audio sebagai  petanda.  Ekspresi-ekspresi yang ditimbulkan saat pemeriksaan vagina mengandung makna konotatif yang merepresentasikan  aktivitas-aktivitas seks menggunakan jari tangan sehingga membentuk mitos yang berpotensi hilangnya rasa kepercayaan perempuan Indonesia untuk ke dokter obgyn lelaki dan kekhawatiran tindakan yang memalukan saat persalinan. Abstract

Abstrak-Komunikasi secara virtual memainkan peran penting di era digital. Situasi pandemi ini menuntut remaja  berperan aktif dalam komunikasi virtual. Kurangnya kemampuan public speaking pada remaja di Forum Anak Medan (FAM), hal ini terlihat dari video inspiratif  pada laman media sosial Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan, Perlindungan Anak, dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Kota Medan.Terlihat potensi kemampuan berbicara di depan umum remaja FAM yang berlum terarah secara maksimal. Kondisi ini terlepas dari menurunnya rasa kepercayaan diri remaja menghadapi perkembangan teknologi. Mengatasi masalah tersebut, diadakan pelatihan yang bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan kemampuan public speaking secara virtual dengan konten edukatif dengan bantuan aplikasi  TikTok. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah ceramah, diskusi, dan demonstrasi.Angket digunakan sebagai tolak ukur ketercapaian kegiatan.Hasil pelatihan menunjukan bahwa aplikasi TikTok dapat dijadikan alternatif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan public speaking, hal ini menambah kreativitas remaja FAM dalam menghasilkan konten edukatif yang bermanfaat.Selama kegiatan remaja FAM berperan aktif dalam pelatihanpublic speaking virtualdengan sangat baik.Hal ini diketahui dari hasil angket sebesar 88% peserta memahami teknik berkomunikasi virtual.  Keaktivan para remaja diimplikasikan padalaman media sosial  TikTok mereka yang menggunggah konten edukatif  yang bermanfaat dengan empat tema, yakni: (1) life hack, (2) Tips do-it-your-self (3) memasak, dan (4)  informasi inspiratif dengan kemampuan public speaking yang bagus. Abstract

Aplikasi TikTok sebagai media komunikasi representatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap tagar #ghosting sebagai kritik sosial dan mengkaji asumsi ideologis masyarakat digital, sebagaimana yang direpresentasikan dalam konten beranda (FYP). Mewujudkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan studi deskriptif dan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis wacana kritis tokoh Teun A. Van Dijk mengkaji tiga dimensi, yaitu: teks, kognisi sosial, dan konteks sosial. Masalah penelitian, meliputi: bagaimana tagar #ghosting direpresentasikan sebagai konten TikTok. Hasil penelitian, menemukan #ghosting sebagai media kritik sosial dalam konteks hubungan percintaan. Selain itu, dimensi teks mewakili wacana #ghosting pada berita Kaesang Pangarep yang dikabarkan menghilang, menghentikan seluruh komunikasi secara tiba-tiba kepada kekasihnya, Felicia Tissue, setelah 5 tahun bersama. Fenomena ghosting membentuk corak dari paradigma: dimensi kognisi sosial sebagai citra diri Kaesang yang dominan cenderung mempunyai tujuan tertentu untuk memperoleh keinginan khusus dan dimensi konteks sosial sebagai budaya masyarakat digital sebagai kritik penolakan. Kebermanfaatan penelitian menjawab eksistensi masyarakat demokratis di sosial media menanggapi isu ghosting.

Abstract

Pembelajaran jarak jauh membuat rawan tindakan plagiarisme, dikarenakan rendahnya kemampuan menulis siswa. Dibutuhkan implementasi kurikulum yang mengubah paradigma terhadap peran manusia dan digital. Tujuan penelitian ini mengkaji peningkatan dan keefektifan kemampuan menulis cerpen genre sosio-religi menggunakan aplikasi ACT sebagai learning society. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif pada metode eksperimen. Desain penelitian dalam bentuk One-Goup Pretest-Postes Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi dan test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) aplikasi ACT sebagai learning society meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerpen genre sosio-religi, dibuktikan dengan peningkatan hasil belajar pada nilai pretest 66,8 meningkat menjadi 87 pada nilai posttest. (2) aplikasi ACT menerapkan konsep learning society terbilang efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerpen genre sosio-religi, dibuktikan dengan perbandingan nilai thitung (13,3) lebih besar dari pada ttabel (1,67), (thitung 13,3 lebih besar dari ttabel 1,67), maka hipotesis diterima.

Abstract

Abstract Verbal and non-verbal communication plays a vital role in delivering messages. Therefore, this study examines the level of students’ ability to convert oral information into non-oral information. The type of this study was quantitative research using a descriptive method. The population was all students in SMKN 4 Padangsidimpuan, while the samples were grade XI students of SMKN 4 Padang Sidimpuan, totaling 75 students. The applied data analysis techniques were tests and documentation. The results of student learning outcomes showed a mean value of 89.67, indicating that students could convert verbal information into non-verbal information, as evidenced by the percentage of students’ abilities in the “capable” category greater than that of students in the “incapable” class. The percentage of students in the capable category was 77.14%, while students in the incapable class were 30%.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the persuasive language on Starbucks advertisements on Instagram posts. The category of persuasive language was referred to Lamb's theory (2014). By using descriptive qualitative method, the researcher collected seventy data of Starbucks advertisements on Instagram posts. Then, the data were analyzed by categorizing and interpreting them into the correct categories. The research result and discussion showed that from 70 data which were taken from Starbucks advertisements on Instagram posts, there were 60 data found by the distribution as follow: 5 data of Alliteration, 6 data of Colloquial Language, 7 data of Connotation, 6 data of Evidence, 6 data of Hyperbole, 8 data of Inclusive Language, 5 data of Imagery, 7 data of Pun, 4 data of Repetition, and 6 data of Simile. The most used of persuasive language on Starbucks advertisements on Instagram posts was Inclusive Language because the company often use everyday or informal language to connect closer with the customers.

Abstract

Learning literature in the digital form makes instilling character values in students easier. Learning to write moral stories as a potential alternative to imitating good behavior may foster literary appreciation through the publication of the results of writing moral stories. This study examined the effectiveness of e-paper in improving the ability to write moral stories and students’ productivity in learning. The type of this study was quantitative-descriptive research using a pre-experimental design, specifically in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design. In this study, data were collected using a written test and documentation. The results showed that (1) e-paper was effective in improving the ability to write moral stories. (2) the learning process involved e-paper as a medium for student productivity in writing moral stories, as reviewed from students’ learning outcomes published in the mass media.

Abstract

The Ular Market in Medan facilitates buying and selling of antiques, making this place often visited by antique connoisseurs. This study examines the sociolects of antique merchants in the Ular Market, Medan. Sociolect is identical to language variations that are formed due to social factors. The purpose of this study was to describe the forms of sociolects and the factors causing the creation of the language variation of the antique merchants in the Ular Market. In this study, the researcher applied a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. Results showed that sociolects of antique merchants in the Ular Market were formed in three varieties: (1) lexical variations in Medan Malay vocabulary, (2) phonological variations indicated by the clarity of vowels /a/ and /e/ and the shift of the pronunciation of vowel /?/ to vowel /e/, and (3) syntactic variations established by the Medan dialect in which the language develops in the local socio-cultural environment. Furthermore, the factors that cause the sociolects are educational factors (merchants come from mountainous areas so they do not receive high education) and socio-cultural factors (merchants stick to the strong family sense so that the duration of using their local language is longer).

Abstract

The maintenance that occurs in language arises because there are causes that are very closely related to changes in language observed in certain elements found in dialect varieties, regional boundaries, number of speakers, place of residence, identity and cultural pride, and good economic conditions. This study aimed to determine (1) lexical forms of phonology and (2) the geographic distribution of phonological forms that experience variations in Riau Malay in Kampar Regency. This study uses a descriptive method with listening techniques, interviews, and recordings. The results of this study are based on its embodiment; the determination of phonetic innovation is based on the discovery of a variant that indicates a phonotactic change from the original variant at the Riau Malay observation point in Kampar Regency. The study results noted that there were 24 glosses with 67 variants indicating this type of innovation.

Abstract

Overcoming speech delays are the most frequently complained about by parents. Delays in speaking for children will have an impact on their learning process at school, including: difficulties in reading, writing and adapting. The aim of this study was to find out the process of fables through finger puppets as an effort to deal with children's speech delays. Role playing using finger puppets is an alternative in handling children's speech delays. The method used is field research which is descriptive qualitative in nature, located in the Kelompok Belajar IT Alwashliyah. The research subjects included 14 students and class teachers. Data collection was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study found, (1) Symptoms of children who experience speech delays, such as: difficulty speaking, speech disorders which include searching vocabulary lists in memory (finding words), difficulty identifying elements in a story, difficulty in building sentences, the vocabulary is unclear, and the child doesn't want to talk at all. (2) Efforts made in dealing with children who are late in speaking have had a direct impact on children, providing affection with animal roles to foster self-confidence, creating direct interaction between children and teachers to establish stimulating communication in children. (3) The fable method uses finger puppets which affect children's language development, one of which is speech delay caused by a lack of language stimulus. Gradually, children who experience speech delays begin to open up and want to interpret words even though they are still stammering.
