Abstract

The Research and Development (R & D) method was used in this study to develop interactive mathematics learning media using the Android-based MIT App Invemtor application on the Pythagorean subject which consisted of: (1) needs analysis, (2) initial media development, (3) media validation and media revision, (4) media testing and media revision, (5) final product. Data collection is used through a questionnaire/questionnaire. Validation was carried out by a team of material experts, a team of media experts, and students to determine the feasibility of the media. The results of the assessment given to material experts and media experts use the Guttman scale. While the results of the media assessment to students using a Likert scale with a value range of 1-5. Respondents were students from class IX at SMP Putra Juang, Cianjur, totaling 8 students. The data analysis technique in this research is using descriptive qualitative. The average value of 90.27% was obtained from two media experts in the appropriate category. The average value of 87.5% was obtained from two material experts in the appropriate category. The average value of 93.02% was obtained from the results of field trials with a very feasible category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the problem solving skills of junior high school students based on student gender. This research is descriptive qualitative. Data from the research results obtained from the results of writing written questions and the results of oral interviews of 14 students of class VIII from Waringin Middle School, Bandung. The instrument used is 3 numbers of material questions that are in accordance with indicators of cognitive aspects. The results of this study indicate that from the problem description given and from the results of interviews about problem solving abilities of junior high school students with female gender on average, it is better than the problem solving ability on average junior high school students have a way to solve while solving problems. So that researchers can conduct research using active student learning methods to get better results, and also be able to understand other factors related to problem solving problems of junior high school students, both male and female students.

Abstract

The method used in this reserach is descriptive qualitative research which intends to examine the mistakes made by studens when working on social aritmhetic story problems. The data collection technique used Google forms and the subjects of this study were students of class VIII-A junior high school of Mahardhika Batujajar, West Bandung Regency, totaling 22 people. This study uses a written test consisting of five essay questions that have been tested for validity, reliability, discriminating power and difficulty. After that, the data was processed using Microsoft Excel to process test results and calculate the level of errors made by srudents. The results of the calculations are then analyzed, which is then described by the students’ errors in each number of questions. The highest percentage of errors is found in the indicator of question number 2, which is 77,2%, while the lowest percentage of errors is found in the indicator of question number 4, which is 18,1%. Based on the results of the study, it showed that there were several student errors in solving social arithmetic story problems, including errors in writing calculations, understanding the material or describing information on questions and concepts in the material given.

Abstract

The question is in the form of a description test on the implementation of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic which shows that most students have difficulty answering questions about mathematical logic material, this underlies the research. This problem occurs because students do not understand the existing statements and the concept of determining the truth value of a compound statement. The purpose of the research is to find out more about students' mistakes when answering mathematical description questions through analysis and description of some students' mistakes when answering questions on mathematical logic material, therefore this study uses descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were students of class XI OTKP (Office Automation and Governance) at one of the Vocational High Schools in Cimahi with a total of 18 students. The stages in this research are planning, implementation, and reporting. The results of the student description test of three questions were used to collect data. The analysis technique used is data reduction, presenting the data and then drawing conclusions. The results and discussion of this study indicate an average of 33.33% of students with low abilities. The percentage of student errors is 44.44% with moderate criteria and 22.22% with low criteria.

Abstract

Calculus is one of the basic subjects that must be mastered by every student of the mathematics education study program, if students cannot understand other mathematics-related courses, students will experience difficulties and will hinder their professionals from becoming good teachers. Because, a teacher must be able to convey information that is important for mathematics to be applied to daily life to students, this encourages students to be motivated to develop mathematics in the future related to technology. In current developments, teachers are trying to make mathematics learning strategies by using teaching aids to improve students 'reasoning abilities, so that students can provide based on students' experiences when doing it, but the biggest obstacle by teachers is the cost that is too large and the time is too long. And as a consideration, making ICT-based media is more effective in overcoming these two factors by developing Javascript geometry.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of mathematical problem solving of high school students who need a learning approach to overcome the problem. Alternative approach used is problem-based learning approach. This study aims to examine whether the problem-solving ability of mathematical students using problem-based learning is better than using ordinary learning. The research method used is experimental method. At the end of the learning the two classes were given a test. The population in this study were high school students in SMAN 2 Cimalaka class XI, while the sample consisted of two classes chosen at random. The data collection in this research is a test of five questions, then the scores of mathematical problem solving abilities are analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistic using two difference test average. Based on the results of research, both from data analysis and hypothesis testing, the authors conclude that the problem solving ability of mathematical students using problem-based learning is better than using ordinary learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the student's mistake in solving the problem of mathematical problem solving. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted in class IX-G SMP Negeri 3 Cimahi with the number of students as much as 38 people. The data obtained from the written test about the problem solving ability of mathematics as much as 5 questions. Based on the results of research conducted from the test 5 problem solving mathematical problems only 29% of students who master the problem of solving mathematical problems, means 71% of students do not master the problem of problem solving mathematics. The average value of students is 5.68 with highs of 13 and lows one of the maximum value of 20. From the analysis of the responses of the students, there were some mistakes made by the students in solving the problem is: The process of settlement is not systematic, not No settlement process, directly to the answer, many do not wear the unit of length and wide, mistakenly write unit area and length, some even wearing unit volume, do not understand the problem, the conclusions are not relevant to the result of the settlement, mistaken in identifying the image, settlement which is not complete, so it can be concluded that the mathematical problem solving ability of grade IX-G students in SMP Negeri 3 Cimahi is still low.
