Abstract

This article describes children health’s issue as primary need to achieve their basic rights. In general, children are vulnerable to get nutrition inadequacy because they tend to consume unhealthy foods. Healthy food is a basic right that must be fulfilled to support children’s growth and development. I examined two research areas identified that the problem of children in consuming unhealthy foods does not always related to the family poverty problem. This article also describes the conditions in the poor communities in North Jakarta and the intermediate community in Depok, use descriptive studies. The findings showed that children’s behavior in consuming unhealthy food was due to several factors, including lack of knowledge and skills of parents or caregivers and also negative support from the social environment around children. In addition, cultural change and dynamic information technology development has greatly affected the children consumption habit. This article discusses the process description in implementing communication strategies applied for those two research areas which have different characteristics through the social marketing approach. This approach emphasizes the development of the role of all elements in the community and the intervention strategies applied in each area of the study.

Abstract

The aging group in society faces challenging situations in most countries. This paper discusses comparing the aging challenge and pension policy to overcome the problems. As one of the most aging population countries globally, South Korea has become a good representative to learn about the aging context. Meanwhile, Indonesia as a populous country with a gradually growing aging population from year to year. The article analyses that even though South Korea and Indonesia have a similar threat for aging population growth, these two countries face different situations. South Korea faces a low fertility threat, and Indonesia faces poverty in the aging population. Therefore, pension policy as social security and protection are discussed through the state and corporate pillars in implementing the pension scheme. However, the pension policy implementation in South Korea should be supported by strengthening social networks to enhance the elderly group. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, there is a need to increase people's awareness in participating in the pension plan to enhance life quality in the old ages.

Abstract

Gender equality issue requires attention in Indonesia. To overcome the problem of gender inequality, women empowerment programs can be one of the strategic approach. This paper focuses on how the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program that focusing in women empowerment contribute the gender equality movement. Therefore, this paper highlights the contributions through women’s lens.. The research used data collection in-depth interviews technique with 10 informants from 3 areas in Jakarta. The research results various aspects such as changing perceptions regarding gender equality, understanding women's roles in the family and society, recognizing social support networks, and recognizing women's skills to support household income. Finally, this paper contributes to enrich the studies and practical work related to the implementation of CSR program in the framework of targeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Pariwisata desa semakin banyak diminati sebagai alternatif destinasi wisata yang dapat menawarkan pengalaman autentik dan juga unik, salah satunya ialah Rammang-Rammang, Maros. Tetapi, seiring dengan meningkatnya jumlah wisatawan, muncul tantangan dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan dan budaya setempat. Peningkatan kesadaran lingkungan dan pemahaman tentang konsep sustainable tourism sejak usia dini menjadi kunci dalam mendukung keberlanjutan pariwisata di kawasan desa wisata.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengimplementasikan board game “Save The Planet” sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif bagi kelompok anak-anak di desa wisata Rammang-rammang Kabupaten Maros Sulawesi Selatan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan partisipatif guna memahami pengaruh board game edukatif pada peningkatan pengetahuan lingkungan anak-anak di desa Salenrang, Maros. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa board game ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman anak-anak terhadap pentingnya menjaga kelestarian lingkungan serta mengadopsi perilaku ramah lingkungan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Melalui mekanisme permainan yang menyenangkan, anak-anak dapat belajar tentang dampak positif dan negatif dari tindakan manusia terhadap lingkungan. Permainan ini memiliki potensi untuk digunakan dalam konteks pendidikan yang lebih luas, menjadi media untuk memperkenalkan konsep ekosistem, daur ulang, dan efek perubahan iklim dalam kurikulum IPA. Dengan sedikit modifikasi, permainan ini bisa digunakan untuk mengajarkan konsep ekonomi berkelanjutan, seperti efisiensi sumber daya dan tanggung jawab sosial. Dengan demikian, permainan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu pendekatan inovatif dalam pendidikan pariwisata berkelanjutan di desa wisata dan berpotensi memperkuat peran masyarakat lokal dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan.  Board Game ‘Save The Planet’ as an Educational Tool for Sustainable Tourism Among Children Abstract Rural tourism is increasingly favored as an alternative travel destination, offering authentic and unique experiences, such as those found in Rammang-Rammang, Maros. However, with the rising number of tourists, challenges emerge in preserving the local environment and culture. Enhancing environmental awareness and understanding of sustainable tourism concepts from an early age is crucial for supporting tourism sustainability in rural areas.This study aims to develop and implement the board game "Save The Planet" as an interactive learning medium for children in the tourism village of Rammang-Rammang, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. Employing a descriptive qualitative method with a participatory approach, the community service activity sought to explore the influence of this educational board game on improving environmental knowledge among children in Salenrang Village, Maros. The findings revealed that the board game effectively increased children's understanding of the importance of environmental preservation and encouraged them to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors in their daily lives. Through engaging game mechanics, children learn about the positive and negative impacts of human actions on the environment. This game has the potential to be applied in broader educational contexts, serving as a medium to introduce concepts such as ecosystems, recycling, and the effects of climate change in science curricula. With slight modifications, the game can also teach sustainable economic concepts, such as resource efficiency and social responsibility. Thus, this board game is expected to become an innovative approach to sustainable tourism education in rural areas, strengthening the role of local communities in environmental conservation.

Abstract

This article discusses about the process of community development included in planning, program implementation, and evaluation of behavior change program in women community in child feeding. The application of these processes were based on the result of community problems, needs, and capitals through participatory planning. It mapped on quality of life assessment scheme which related on malnourished children of 6-24 months old in urban poor families. This research conducted by action research method which based on analysis result of look 1 phase. This article discusses about think, act, and look 2 phases. Think phase describes planning process included formulating the aim, strategy, and intervention program. Act phase describes the implementation of social marketing program. Look 2 phase describes the results of community behavior change in 3 (three) behavior variations, i.e. continued adoption, process of adoption, and continued rejection related to the supporting and inhibiting factors within them.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the social marketing of Mother Support Group Program in Rawa Buaya as the way to improve breast feeding practice for pregnant mothers and to describe the obstacle of the program. The qualitative data were collected by conducting in-depth interview and direct observation. Based on the result of this study, social marketing of Mother Support Group Program has done various social marketing steps and it is one of the way to achieve the change of pregnant mother’s behavior in order to implement breast feeding practice for the further life. This social marketing is implemented with education and participation for community development.

Abstract

This article discusses about child welfare issues in a community related to mothers’ behavior child welfare issues of a community related to children of age 6-24 months with insufficient nutrition condition. It also describes about the factors which influenced to this condition that would be base of intervention design to solve the problems. This is an descriptive research. This research stated that parents, especially mother has the most important roles in determining their children’s life quality.

Abstract

This article discusses about the social rehabilitation efforts in handling the homeless and beggars in Jakarta at Panti sosial Bina Insani (PSBI BD 2) Cipayung. Researcher conducting a qualitative descriptive on this study.The findings from this research show that social rehabilitation efforts in homeshelter is not maximized so that the homeless people and beggars in Jakarta tends to return to the street after getting coaching in this homeshalter. This research provide a recommendation to the government to provide a homeshalter which focused for homeless and beggars social rehabilitation, give strict punishment to the homeless and beggars who are back on the street and increases quality and quantity of human resourcesservant.
