Abstract

This article discusses about child welfare issues in a community related to mothers’ behavior child welfare issues of a community related to children of age 6-24 months with insufficient nutrition condition. It also describes about the factors which influenced to this condition that would be base of intervention design to solve the problems. This is an descriptive research. This research stated that parents, especially mother has the most important roles in determining their children’s life quality.

Abstract

This article discusses about the social rehabilitation efforts in handling the homeless and beggars in Jakarta at Panti sosial Bina Insani (PSBI BD 2) Cipayung. Researcher conducting a qualitative descriptive on this study.The findings from this research show that social rehabilitation efforts in homeshelter is not maximized so that the homeless people and beggars in Jakarta tends to return to the street after getting coaching in this homeshalter. This research provide a recommendation to the government to provide a homeshalter which focused for homeless and beggars social rehabilitation, give strict punishment to the homeless and beggars who are back on the street and increases quality and quantity of human resourcesservant.

Abstract

Program pemberdayaan ekonomi untuk menanggulangi masalah kemiskinan perkotaan, salah satu program yang diupayakan adalah  program Koperasi Jasa Keuangan-Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Masyarakat Kelurahan (KJK-PEMK) dan dikelola secara khusus oleh Unit Pengelola Dana Bergulir (UPDB) serta dikoordinasikan di tingkat kelurahan. Selama pelaksanaan program lebih dari 60% wilayah teridentifikasi tidak berhasil. Untuk itu, artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan ketidakberhasilan sebagai refleksi implementasi program. Artikel ini didasarkan pada hasil penelitian menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif dan berfokus pada salah satu kelurahan (X) di DKI Jakarta sebagai salah satu wilayah program yang menempati rangking tertinggi kategori tidak berhasil, dengan mengacu pada indikator kelancaran pengembalian dana bergulir. Penelitian ini melibatkan informan antara lain pengelola dan penerima program KJK PEMK (X) dengan pengumpulan melalui data primer melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi serta data sekunder berupa laporan program. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa ketidakberhasilan program disebabkan faktor manusia dan sosial, faktor non manusia dan sosial, serta faktor penerapan kebijakan dan program yang masih yang mendukung perilaku negatif penerima program. Untuk itu, implementasi program penanggulangan kemiskinan melalui pemberdayaan ekonomi seharusnya perlu menekankan pada keseluruhan aspek, bukan sekedar fokus pada peningkatan modal ekonominya     Kata Kunci: Penanggulangan Kemiskinan, Pemberdayaan, Kredit Mikro

Abstract

Students assigned with field practice (practicum) are prone to experiencing burnout. This study focuses on Social Welfare students who are currently undertaking practicum assignments. Burnout conditions can disrupt their social functioning and impacting target groups, institutions, and universities. One factor related to burnout is social support perceived by students. However, there is still minimal research related to burnout and social support among practicum students from social departments in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to describe the relationship between social support and burnout. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive objectives. The sample in this study was all UI Social Welfare practicum students in the even semester of 2023/2024, with a final sample of 75 students. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires in June 2024. The data analyzed univariately and bivariately using Kendall's tau-b test with SPSS. Univariate analysis showed that 70.7% of students experienced moderate levels of burnout, 73.7% of students had moderate perceptions of peer social support, and 65.3% of students had moderate perceptions of social support from school supervisors. Kendall's tau-b test results indicated a significant but weak negative relationship between peer social support and burnout (T = -.334, p < 0.05) and between school supervisor social support and burnout (T = -.322, p < 0.05).

Abstract

Indonesia has a bonus demography challenge. For this reason, youth development should be prioritized by considering the unproductive migration of rural youth groups. Islamic social enterprise (ISE) offers a strategic approach to empowering the youth. This study investigated youth empowerment through vocational training programs provided by two ISE organizations. This is a descriptive qualitative study. Online interviews were carried out from October 2021 to June 2022 involving eight ISE program participants. The research finding shows that ISE supported intellectual, psychological, spiritual, and social skill development. The results also suggest comprehensive support from the government, private sectors, and local communities to ensure the youth groups can be change agents for their villages. Keywords: change agent, community development, social enterprise, youth empowerment Abstrak Indonesia menghadapi tantangan bonus demografi. Untuk itu, pembangunan untuk kelompok harus diprioritaskan dengan mempertimbangkan adanya masalah migrasi yang tidak produktif oleh kelompok pemuda dari wilayah perdesaan. Kewirausahaan sosial berbasis nilai Islam menawarkan pendekatan strategis untuk memberdayakan kelompok pemuda. Studi ini mendeskripsikan pemberdayaan pemuda melalui program pelatihan vokasi yang dilakukan oleh dua organisasi. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualiatif deskriptif. Wawancara online dilakukan sejak Oktober 2021 hingga Juni 2022 dengan melibatkan delapan peserta program. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kewirausahaan sosial berbasis nilai Islam mendukung perkembangan intelektual, perkembangan psikologis dan spiritual, serta perkembangan keterampilan sosial. Hasil penelitian merekomendasikan dukungan komprehensif dari pemerintah, sektor swasta, dan masyarakat lokal untuk dapat memastikan keberdayaan kelompok pemuda sebagai agen perubahan bagi desa mereka. Abstract

An increasing number of Indonesian families migrate to South Korea with different social and cultural aspects emerge the challenges in child-rearing. This study examines two purposes related to child-rearing barriers and social support of migrant families by utilizing qualitative research with a case study design. In-depth interviews and observation carried out data collection during August-November 2021 involving six (6) Indonesian migrant mothers living in Seoul using purposive sampling. Mothers were chosen as informants by considering them as the primary caregiver for children. Regarding the first purpose, this study identified internal and external barriers in child-rearing. In addition, three themes related to social support are analyzed, including instrumental support in tangible and service assistance, emotional support related to social adjustment support, and informational support to access services for children. The resources of support systems come from spouses and parents, Indonesian and Korean friends/colleagues, social institutions, and social media networks. Therefore, there is a need for comprehensive social interventions to strengthen social support for migrant families.
