Abstract

Gal manjakani (Quercus infectoria) is one of the most popular medicinal plants in Asia. This plant is found in Turkey, Syria, Persia, Cyprus, and Greece. This study aims to determine the compounds contained in the non-polar fraction and to determine the antibacterial activity and toxicity of the fraction. Gal Manjakani was extracted by maceration method with acetone then fractionated with n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol. Non-polar fractions were analyzed using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GCMS). The antibacterial activity test used disc diffusion and microdilution methods based on the CLSI standard method against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. Toxicity test was conducted using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. The GC-MS identification results showed that the non-polar fraction of gal manjakani contained 27 compounds, with the main compounds being cis-vaccenic acid = 35,19%, n-hexadecanoic acid = 16,66%, 1-heptadecanecarboxylic acid = 5,03%, dodecanoic acid = 4.73%, bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate = 4,35%, hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester = 2,14% and tetradecanoic acid = 1,31%. The results of the antibacterial activity test showed activity with an inhibition zone of 6.26 ± 0.6 mm against S.aureus bacteria and 8.23 ​​± 0.21 mm against E.coli bacteria, with a percentage of effectiveness against S.aureus bacteria of 15.34% and for E. coli 44.24%. The MIC and MBC values ​​of S.aureus bacteria were> 5000 (µg / mL) and> 5000 (µg / mL) and E. coli was 312.5 (µg / mL) and> 5000 (µg / mL). The results of the toxicity test showed that the non-polar fraction of gal Manjakani was toxic with an LC50 value of 2.1527 ppm.

Abstract

Langka dan mahalnya bahan bakar minyak tanah untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga merupakanmasalah yang dihadapi oleh sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia saat ini, demikian juga halnyadengan  masyarakat  di Desa Tanjung Rejo dan desa Tambak Bayan Sentis,Kecamatan Percut Sei TuanKabupaten Deli Serdang. Program Iptek sbagi Masyarakat IbM Kelompok Tani Kelapa Sawit danPalawijadi desa Tanjung Rejo bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok tani dalam mengolah limbah pertanian menjadi briket bioarang dan memanfaatkan briket bioarang tersebut sebagai energi alternatif pengganti BBM khususnya minyak tanah untuk keperluanrumah tangga. Pada kegiatan IbM ini yang menjadi mitra adalah kelompok tani “Paluh 80” DesaTanjung Rejo dan kelompok tani “Subur” dari desa Tambak Bayan.  Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputitahapan: Penyuluhan pemanfaatan limbah pertanian, Pelatihan pengarangan biomassa limbahpertanian, dilanjutkan demonstrasi pembuatan briket bioarang dengan menggunakan mesinpenggiling arang dan alat  pencetak  briket.  Pelatihan dan  pendampingan  langsung  pembuatan briket bioarang oleh kader dari kedua mitra. Tahapan evaluasi proses kegiatan, motivasi oleh timpelaksana terhadap kader dari kedua mitra untuk produksi briket bioarang dilanjutkan analisis mutubriket. Hasil yang telah dicapai dalam kegiatan IbM ini juga merupakan target dan luaranpelaksanaan kegiatan IbM yaitu : 1) Anggota (kader) dari kelompok Tani “Paluh 80” dan “Subur” telahmemiliki pengetahuan tentang sumber bahan baku energy alternatif dari limbah hasil kegiatanpertanian (biomassa), yang selama ini belum termanfaatkan secara maksimal, 2) Anggota (kader)dari kelompok Tani “Paluh80” dan “Subur” telah memiliki pengetahuan keterampilan teknikpembriketan meliputi proses pengarangan, penghalusan arang, dilanjutkan dengan  pencetakan arang  dengan  penambahan  bahan  perekat,  dan  terakhir  proses pengeringan briket bioarang,3) Anggota (kader) dari kelompok Tani “Paluh80” dan “Subur”  telah memiliki keterampilan dalam proses pembuatan briket bioarang dari beberapa sumber bahan baku limbah hasil pertanian,4)Produk briket bioarang sebagai bahan bakar alternatif pengganti minyak tanah.Kegiatan IbMkelompok tani kelapa sawit dan palawija di desa Tanjung Rejo telah dilaksanakan dengan hasil yangbaik. Indikator dari keberhasilan kegiatan ini dapat terlihat dari kedua kelompok mitra telah berhasilmembuat briket bioarang dari beberapa sumber bahan baku yang merupakan limbah dari hasilkegiatan pertanian. Peran serta kedua kader mitra dalam setiap kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakansangat aktif,terlihat dari jumlah peserta yang hadir >90%. Hasil analisis mutu produk briket bioarangdiperoleh nilai kalor tertinggi dihasilkan oleh beriket bioarang dari limbah kayu yaitu sebesar 6072,32kal/g.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan e-modul berbasis inkuiri terstruktur pada pokok bahasan ikatan kimia di SMA berdasarkan validasi ahli materi dan ahli media serta respon siswa terhadap e-modul yang dikembangkan. Pengembangan e-modul dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model 4D yang terdiri dari 3 tahap yaitu: tahap define (pendefinisian), tahap design (perancangan), dan tahap develop (pengembangan). Subjek penelitian adalah e-modul berbasis inkuiri terstruktur. Objek penelitian adalah materi ikatan kimia. Instrumen penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan lembar validasi dan lembar angket respon siswa yang telah memenuhi standar BSNP yang memuat beberapa aspek yaitu aspek kelayakan isi, aspek kelayakan peyajian, aspek kelayakan kegrafikan, dan aspek kelayakan bahasa. Penilaian validasi dan respon siswa menggunakan penilaian skala Likert dengan rentang skor perbutir 1-5. Produk yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh 5 validator yang terdiri dari 3 dosen kimia dan 2 guru kimia. Proses uji coba respon siswa terhadap e-modul yang berikan kepada 10 siswa SMA Swasta PAB 4 Sampali. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh persentase rata - rata penilaian pada validator ahli materi sebesar 88,2%, validator ahli media sebesar 90,2 % dengan kriteria penilaian valid/layak, dan persentase penilaian respon siswa berdasarkan aspek kemenarikan, aspek materi, dan aspek bahasa diperoleh nilai sebesar 90,1 dengan kriteria sangat tinggi

Abstract

Low results study students and motivation student in learning chemistry during the Covid-19 pandemic at Baitul Aziz Private High School Deli Serdang. This research aim for knowing outcomes learning students who are taught with contextual-based chemistry electronic textbook more high from score criteria minimum completeness (KKM = 75); knowing student’s learning motivation who are taught with contextual-based chemistry electronic textbook. This research using the ADDIE model (Analysis; Design; Development; Implementation; Evaluation) in the article this will discussed at the implementation. Population in study this is is student class X MIPA Baitul Aziz Private Senior High School Deli Serdang 2021/2022 as many as 50 students, sample study this student class X MIPA2 Baitul Aziz Deli Serdang Private High School as many as 24 people were selected with using purposive sampling technique. Instruments used in research including: instruments test as many as 10 essay questions and questionnaires motivation study students. Research results show that results study student higher from KKM value (test one sample t-test obtained result value sig. α = 0.002 0.05; score tcount ttable = 8.087 1.714) and students motivated (81.7%) to study chemical with use contextual-based chemistry electronic textbook very effective used in learning chemistry at school to improve learning outcomes and student’s learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perspectives of mathematics students in general chemistry classes. on the use of butterfly pea flowers (Clitoria ternatea) and vinegar as basic ingredients for making environmentally friendly natural ink. This innovation is expected to be an alternative to the use of chemical inks and to encourage environmental awareness among students. This study uses a descriptive analysis method with data collection through questionnaires distributed to students. The results of the analysis show that most students gave a positive response to the use of butterfly pea flowers and vinegar as natural ink, especially in terms of loss, material safety, and potential application in the campus environment. These findings indicate an opportunity to develop environmentally friendly products based on local wisdom in the world of education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perspectives of mathematics students on mixing aloe vera extract with weak acid solution for hair health and softness. The research method used is descriptive quantitative through the distribution of questionnaires to 43 mathematics students at Medan State University and other universities in North Sumatra. The questionnaire consists of 19 statements covering aspects of knowledge (12 items), environmental awareness (4 items), and psychomotor (4 items) with a Likert scale of 1-5. The results showed that the majority of respondents had good knowledge about the benefits of aloe vera for hair care (mean = 4.02), but the understanding of weak acid solution and its mechanism of action was still moderate (mean = 3.12). The environmental awareness aspect showed a high value (mean = 3.76) which reflects the tendency of students to choose natural products. Meanwhile, the psychomotor aspect showed a moderate value (mean = 3.44), which indicates the limitations of respondents' skills in applying hair care products optimally. This study found a positive correlation between knowledge about natural ingredients and the tendency to use natural-based products for hair care. The results of this study are expected to be the basis for developing hair care product formulations based on natural ingredients that suit the needs and preferences of students.

Abstract

This study is an experimental study that aims to measure the differences in student learning outcomes taught using the project-based learning and problem-based learning models. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan in the 2024/2025 academic year. The population in this study were all class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. Sampling was carried out using random sampling techniques and the classes used were class X-6 as experimental class I and class X-8 as experimental class II. The independent variables are the project-based learning and problem-based learning models. The dependent variable is student learning outcomes in chemical bonding material. The research design used is the pretest-posttest control group design. Data collection was carried out by giving 20 questions with five answer choices. The average student learning outcomes in experimental class I were 81.76 and the average student learning outcomes in experimental class II were 74.55. The requirements for parametric testing on questions are normally distributed and homogeneous so that hypothesis testing can be carried out using a two-tailed t-test. The results of the hypothesis test with a two-tailed t-test obtained a sig value (2-tailed) of 0.001 at a significance level of α = 0.05. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes in the chemical bond material learned using the project-based learning model and the problem-based learning model.
