Abstract

Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the number of red blood cells is insufficient to meet the body's physiological needs. Anemia is prone to occur in adolescence. The prevalence of anemia in the world ranges from 40-88% of 600,000,000, while in Indonesia it is 48.9% of 25,000,000. Anemia in adolescent girls has a negative impact not only on academic achievement but can also increase the risk of pregnancy complications and disrupt fetal growth and development. Symptoms of anemia are characterized by 5L (Weak, Tired, Lethargic, Exhausted, Negligent). Efforts are made to overcome this condition by consuming nutritious foods (containing iron) in the form of moringa leaf soybean tempeh and taking Fe tablets. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of administering a combination of moringa leaf soybean tempeh and Fe tablets or Fe tablets alone on hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls with anemia. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The population is 95 adolescent girls with a sample size of 24 respondents. This study was conducted in May 2025 at the Al Itqon Islamic Boarding School in Semarang City. The instrument in this study used a digital hemoglobin device that has been tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing used the Independent t-test. The average hemoglobin level in the intervention group increased from 10.6 gr/dl before treatment to 14.6 gr/dl after treatment, while in the control group it increased from 10.5 gr/dl to 12.6 gr/dl after treatment. Both treatments showed an effect between the combination of moringa leaf soybean tempeh and Fe tablets with the administration of Fe tablets alone, but the administration of the combination of moringa leaf soybean tempeh and Fe tablets proved more effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls with anemia compared to the administration of Fe tablets alone.

Abstract

Variable pengetahuan sebelum intervensi diperoleh rata-rata pre test sebesar 63,78 kemudian meningkat menjadi 88,71 setelah intervensi Focus Group Discussion (FGD) bersama penyintas kanker yang berpengalaman menjalani pemeriksaan IVA. Sedangkan aspek sikap sebelum intervensi diperoleh rata-rata pre test sebesar 62,31 kemudian meningkat menjadi 89,16 setelah intervensi Focus Group Discussion (FGD).

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is the phase of transitional growth and development, ranged from 10 and 19 years. The serious issue that can occur among adolescent is unintended pregnancies. Unintended pregnancy not only affects the adolescent's health but also has social and economic impact. Unintended pregnancy can result from casual relationships, peer influences, and inadequate knowledge among adolescents. A high level of knowledge is expected to enhance the role of peers in preventing unintended pregnancy. Peers can play a role in preventing unintended pregnancy by acting as educators, motivators, and role models. Methods: The aim of this research is to describe the level of knowledge and peer role and their relationship as efforts in preventing unintended pregnancies. The research design is a cross estional study involving 200 female adolescents from high schools in Magelang City. The sampling method used is quota sampling. The instruments used are a knowledge questionnaire consisting of 25 questions and a peer role questionnaire consisting of 24 questions, both of which have undergone validity and reliability testing. The statistical test used is the Spearman Rank Test. Results: Respondents with a good level of knowledge amounted to 187 (93.5%). The role as an educator was high among 175 (87.5%), as a motivator among 138 (69%), and as a model among 158 (79%). There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the role as an educator with a p-value of 0.04. However, there is no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the role as a motivator with a p-value of 0.14, and there is no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the role as a model with a p-value of 0.42.Conclusion: Knowledge is associated with the peer role as an educator. Peers can provide information about preventing unintended pregnancies, but efforts to prevent unintended pregnancies still need to be enhanced through the peer role as motivators and role models.Â
