Data collection was performed through interview and observation. This study found that in April 2015, the number of indigenous cases was 2 which was increased to 37 cases in May and the peak prevalence was 56 cases in June. Previously, import cases were found in March. Up until December, malaria cases were dominated by indigenous cases (97%). Village regulation regarding malaria migration surveillance was still not available in most receptive villages. In area which had eliminate malaria, there should be regulation that govern malaria migration surveillance. Therefore, the Regent should advise the village chief through a circulatory letter to form a new regulation regarding malaria migration surveillance in order to reduce outbreak potential.

Abstract

Background: Caregivers of individuals with schizophrenia often experience significant psychological and emotional challenges, including self-stigma and caregiver burden. Understanding these phenomena is essential to develop supportive interventions. Objective: This study aimed to examine the levels of self-stigma and caregiver burden among caregivers of persons with schizophrenia living in the community and to explore the relationship between these two variables. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was employed involving 100 caregivers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated self-report questionnaires: the Self-Stigma of Family Members Scale (SSFS) and the Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI). Descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis were conducted to assess the relationship between self-stigma and caregiver burden. Results: The findings indicated that a majority of caregivers experienced moderate to high levels of both self-stigma and caregiver burden. A significant positive correlation was found between self-stigma and caregiver burden (p < 0.01), indicating that higher levels of self-stigma were associated with greater caregiver burden. Conclusion: Self-stigma contributes to the burden experienced by caregivers of individuals with schizophrenia in the community. Interventions aimed at reducing stigma may help alleviate the psychological burden among caregivers and improve their well-being.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the number of red blood cells is insufficient to meet the body's physiological needs. Anemia is prone to occur in adolescence. The prevalence of anemia in the world ranges from 40-88% of 600,000,000, while in Indonesia it is 48.9% of 25,000,000. Anemia in adolescent girls has a negative impact not only on academic achievement but can also increase the risk of pregnancy complications and disrupt fetal growth and development. Symptoms of anemia are characterized by 5L (Weak, Tired, Lethargic, Exhausted, Negligent). Efforts are made to overcome this condition by consuming nutritious foods (containing iron) in the form of moringa leaf soybean tempeh and taking Fe tablets. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of administering a combination of moringa leaf soybean tempeh and Fe tablets or Fe tablets alone on hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls with anemia. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The population is 95 adolescent girls with a sample size of 24 respondents. This study was conducted in May 2025 at the Al Itqon Islamic Boarding School in Semarang City. The instrument in this study used a digital hemoglobin device that has been tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing used the Independent t-test. The average hemoglobin level in the intervention group increased from 10.6 gr/dl before treatment to 14.6 gr/dl after treatment, while in the control group it increased from 10.5 gr/dl to 12.6 gr/dl after treatment. Both treatments showed an effect between the combination of moringa leaf soybean tempeh and Fe tablets with the administration of Fe tablets alone, but the administration of the combination of moringa leaf soybean tempeh and Fe tablets proved more effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls with anemia compared to the administration of Fe tablets alone.

Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the main causes of morbidity and death in Indonesia. Prevention and control of PTM requires the active role of Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posyandu) cadres. However, low self-efficacy of cadres often becomes an obstacle in carrying out these tasks. Therefore, the aim of this community service is to increase the capacity and self-efficacy of cadres in efforts to prevent and control NCDs. This community service uses a participatory training approach aimed at increasing cadres' self-efficacy. A total of 30 cadres were selected as respondents through purposive sampling techniques. Inclusion criteria include active cadres in posyandu, aged 20–60 years, and willing to take part in the entire series of training. Activities were carried out in the form of intensive training which includes material delivery, group discussions, simulations and evaluation. Self-efficacy measurements were carried out before and after the intervention using the General Self-Efficacy (GSE) questionnaire. Data analysis was applied to see changes in cadre self-efficacy categories before and after training. The results of this activity showed that at the time of the pretest, most of the cadres were in the medium category, 21 people (70%) and 4 people low (13.3%). After the training, there was a significant increase in the good self-efficacy category, namely to 20 people (66.7%) and there were no cadres in the low category with a p value = 0.001. It can be concluded from this community service activity that participatory-based training can increase the self-efficacy of Posyandu cadres in preventing and controlling NCDs.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the magnitude and cause of the outbreak, describe the outbreak based on person, place, and time, and implement control measures. Methods: This study uses descriptive epidemiology and looks for active cases to find additional cases. Cases included students with fever with or without further symptoms: dizziness, nausea, vomiting, headache, stomachache, diarrhea, and chills from September 28 to November 28. Data collection was carried out through interviews using a standard questionnaire. We took clean water, drinking water, and blood samples. The water sample was sent to the Environmental Health Laboratory, and the blood sample to a private laboratory in Magelang for an IgM anti-Salmonella typhi test. Results: The number of cases was 150 students. The highest attack rates were among women, 72/359 (20.1%), and first-year students, 139/381 (36.48%). The onset of the disease starts from 28 September to 26 October 2016. There are outbound activities on the river on 26 September, attended by all first-year and second- and third-year students, as part of the activity committee. This activity is followed by eating together before and after washing hands with soap. All cases attended outbound activities. IgM was positive in 51 students, and water samples were negative for Salmonella typhi. Conclusion: There was an outbreak of typhoid fever with 150 cases in schools from 28 September to 28 November 2016. The outbreak was caused by the lack of hand-washing with soap when eating. We provide medical and health education to students about typhoid fever. The recommendation is to make school rules about the behavior of washing hands with soap, and if you take a bath in the river, before eating, it is necessary to wash your body and hands with soap.
