Abstract

A lanthanum(III) ion selective electrode based on ionophore 1,10-diaza-4,7,13,16-tetraoxacyclooctadecane-N,N-diacetic acid was studied. The electrode was prepared with an inner solution system in a membrane composition that contained an active ionophore 1,10-diaza-4,7-13,16-tetraoxacycloocta decana-N,N-diacetic acid (DACDA), an anionic side potassium tetrakis (4-chlorophenyl) borate (KTCPB), a plasticizer o-nitro phenyl octyl ether (NPOE) and a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) matrix support. A good response was obtained with a slope of 19.53 ± 1.62 mV/decade and the electrode gave responses with a detection limit of 3.92x10-6 M. The measurement range was wide (10-5-10-1 M) and the responses time was about 27 seconds. The electrode could measure lanthanum ion with a few interfering alkali, earth alkali and transition elements.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of natural zeolite and activated charcoal to reduce levels of manganese in shall water, determine the effect of contact time with the effectiveness of separation of manganese metal in a shallow well water and know the condition before-after the adsorption process. Method that used was column adsorption with a flow system in which sample is applied to the filtration tube containing zeolite and active carbon. The tests carried out included testing of drinking water parameters namely pH and TDS, testing of manganese content in a shallow well water using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results showed the effectiveness value of natural zeolite adsorbent and activated charcoal using an adsorption column to reduce manganese content in a shallow well water of 90.404%. The longer the use of natural zeolite and activated charcoal, the effectiveness of reducing the manganese content in a shallow well water tends to decrease. A shallow well water samples before the adsorption process have safe conditions for pH and TDS parameters, for manganese metal parameters are also still below the appropriate threshold (SNI) number 01-0220-1987 and RI Permenkes No.492 / MENKES / PER / IV / 2010, after the process of adsorption of f a shallow well water is safe for consumption.

Abstract

Local wisdom is the result of the dialectic process between the individual and his environment. One of the local wisdom in Merapi Mountain, Indonesia is the traditional ceremony of Labuhan. This study is a qualitative descriptive study with literature review techniques. Based on the results of this study, it is known that the traditional ceremony of Labuhan Merapi is one of the local wisdom, tradition, culture, and traditional intelligence in the residents of the southern slope of Mount Merapi. Merapi's traditional ceremony is one of the traditional intelligence that can be managed in building a community-based disaster risk reduction system, especially at the disaster mitigation stage. Traditional intelligence is formed from the results of people's interaction with their physical environment over a long period of time. The formation of traditional intelligence allows people to know and read the signs of nature related to the eruption disaster of Mount Merapi.

Abstract

Jangka Panjang (PJP) II mencanangkan program nasionaluntuk mengentaskan kemiskinan, yaitu masyarakat yangmasih hidup kekurangan dengan mengkonsumsi makanankurang dari 1800 kalori. Banyak langkah yang ditempuh untukmengentaskan kemiskinan, antara lain dengan memberikandana Inpres Desa Tertinggal, bimbingan usaha, industri kecil,dan lain-Jain. Juga tidak kalah pentingnya adalah denganmemberikan penyuluhan tentang cara mengatur menumakanan yang sehat agar kebutuhan gizi dan kalori terpenuhi.Setiap tubuh memerlukan gizi dan kalori yang cukup,yang meliputi: kat'bohidt'at, lemak, protein, vitamin, meniraldan air. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gizi maka setiap kalimakan harus dengan menu yang sehat, yaitu menu yangmeliputi: nasi, sayur, lauk-pauk. buah-buahan dan susu atauair. Untuk memenuhi menu yang sehat tidak harus denganbiaya yang banyak dan dengan ha'rga yang mahal, tetapidengan bahan makanan yang sederhana dan dengan biaya yangmurah pun dapat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gizi dan kaloribagi tubuh. Bahan-bahan yang murah banyak terdapat di desabahkanmudah untuk diusahakan sendiri dengan bercocoktanam sendiri atau dengan beternak di rumah. Untuk itudiperlukan usaha yang sungguh-sungguh dari masyarakatmiskin. Juga dengan bantuan dari berbagai pihak yangterkait.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with very rich in local regional potential. The local potential can be utilized as one of the natural science learning sources in junior high school. One of the local potentials that can be integrated with science lessons is food. This research aimed to conduct the study, analysis, and develop science subject specific pedagogy of natural science learning integrated local food in Cangkringan Sub-District to introduce chemical materials in junior high school, namely additives in food and its impact on health. This research was research and development (R&D) with 4-D model, consist of define, design, develop, and disseminate. Product eligibility is assessed by the validator using the product feasibility assessment sheet. Product feasibility assessment scores are then classified in product rating category classification. This research results is produce science subject specific pedagogy that consist of syllabuses, lesson plans, handouts, and student worksheets. The developed syllabus gets a feasibility score of 4.00, lesson plan gets a score of 3.80, the handout gets a score of 3.60, while the student worksheet gets a score of 3.80. Based on these results, overall, the science subject specific pedagogy developed gained a very good category.

Abstract

This study was aimed at developing and describing the feasibility of analytical thinking and science process skill instrument for Senior High School chemistry in the material of reaction rates. The study was conducted in five senior high schools in Yogyakarta. The instrument development used the 4-D model including defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Analytical Thinking and Science Process Skill (ATSPS) instrument was validated by expert judgement and chemistry teachers. The data obtained were analyzed using the descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative methods. Findings show that evaluation of the the developed ATSPS instrument has a validity index of 0.95. Product evaluation of the instrument done by the Senior High School chemistry teachers obtained a score of 530 within the good category. The percentage of teachers’ responses to the chemistry assessment instrument is 88.33%. Therefore, ATSPS instrument is feasible to be used for measuring the knowledge and skills of the Senior High School students integrativelyINSTRUMEN PENILAIAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR ANALITIS DAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS KIMIAPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui kelayakan instrumen penilaian kemampuan berpikir analitis dan keterampilan proses sains kimia peserta didik SMA/MA pada materi laju reaksi. Penelitian dilakukan di lima SMA/MA di Kota Yogyakarta. Pengembangan instrumen menggunakan model 4-D (Four-D Model) yang meliputi tahap pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran produk. Instrumen Analytical Thinking and Science Process Skill (ATSPS) yang telah dikembangkan divalidasi oleh expert judgement dan guru kimia. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen ATSPS yang telah dikembangkan memiliki rata-rata indeks validitas isi sebesar 0,95. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian produk yang telah dilakukan oleh guru kimia SMA/MA diperoleh skor sebesar 530 dengan kategori sangat baik. Persentase respons guru terhadap instrumen penilaian kimia sebesar 88,33%. Oleh karena itu, instrumen penilaian kemampuan berpikir analitis dan keterampilan proses sains kimia layak digunakan untuk mengukur kompetensi pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta didik SMA/MA secara terintegrasi

Abstract

Chemistry learning in high school that trains and develops students’ self-sufficiency and independence has not been done optimally because learners still depend on getting information and knowledge from teachers. Problem-based learning method used in the teaching and learning process is expected to facilitate students’ with self-reliance and learning independence. This method is a problem-oriented learning method that makes students be accustomed to solving problems in order to train their ability in discoveringa concept in the learning process. Teaching learning process with PBL model is done for the subject matter of acid base solution and electrolyte non electrolyte solution. Learning independence assessed in this study were self-management, motivation, and confidence. The data of the study were in the form of descriptive quantitative data and analyzed using Anava / Anacova test. The research findings showed that there was a difference of students’ learning independence through the application of problem-based learning method and control method in teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui langkah-langkah penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran sistemik pada kuliah Kimia Dasar I dan mengetahui ada tidaknya peningkatan pemahaman konsep maha-siswa pada Kuliah Kimia Dasar I setelah menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran sistemik. Penelitian ini di desain sebagai penelitian tindakan kelas yang meliputi empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Kimia yang mengikuti mata kuliah Kimia Dasar I. Obyek penelitian adalah pemahaman konsep mahasiswa. Penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran sistemik dilakukan dengan diskusi dan pemberian tugas. Mahasiswa diminta untuk membu-at diagram siklis yang menunjukkan keterkaitan antar materi kimia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada peningkatan kemampuan berpikir komprehensif mahasiswa, dengan skor kemampuan konsep kimia mahasiswa pada siklus I sebesar 31,48 dan siklus II sebesar 35,48, dengan skor maksimal 50.Kata kunci: pendekatan sistemik, diagram siklis, kemampuan konsep kimia

Abstract

The preparation and characterization of lanthanum (III) ion selective electrode based on the 1,10-diaza-4,7,13,16-tetraoxacyclooctadecane-N,N'-diacetic acid as ionophore was studied. The electrode was prepared with an inner solution system in a membrane composition that contained active DACDA ionophore, the anionic side of KTCPB, the plasticizer of NPOE and a PVC matrix support. The good response was obtained with a slope of 19.53 +- 1.62 mV/decade and a good correlation between potential and lanthanum (III) concentration. Electrode could response with a detection limit of 3.92x10^-6 M and range measurement between 10^-5 M to 10^-1M. Electrode is steady at pH 4-9 and the best condition of inner solution concentration at 10^-3 M. Abstract

Penelitian  ini bertujuan  untuk mensintesis  bus a poliuretan dengan memanfaatkan monomer  berbasis  minyak  jarak. Minyak  jarak direaksikan dengan senyawa isosianat dan dengan penambahan air pada komposisi bervariasi. Karakterisasi poliuretan  meliputi  penentuan  gugus  fungsi, massa jenis, konduktivitas termal, ikatan silang melalui uji penggembungan, dan    pengamatan permukaan menggunakan Scanning Electron Microscopy. Poliuretan berhasil disintesis dari minyak jarak dan TDI dengan  penambahan air dan aditif  (PEG400,  PEG 1000, etilendiamin,  1,4-butanadiol, dan asam oleat) ditunjukkan oleh karakteristik  gugus fungsi   khas.   Poliuretan memiliki ikatan silang ditunjukkan oleh  derajat penggembungan bernilai  positif.    Penambahan air dalam sintesis dapat menurunkan massa jenis busa poliuretan. Penambahan aditif berupa PEG400, PEGIOOO, 1,4-butanadiol, dan asam oleat dalam sintesis poliuretan menyebabkan struktur sel busa yang dihasilkan memiliki permukaan dengan ukuran gelembung lebih besar. Penurunan konduktivitas termal busa poliuretan dengan adanya penambahan air disebabkan oleh penurunan massa jenis busa poliuretan dengan penambahan air dalam sintesis busa. Kata kunci: busa poliuretan, konduktivitas termal, minyakjarak,   poliuretan
