Abstract

Floods are a major global problem affect communities and businesses. For these effects to be mitigated and emergency measures to be improved, accurate prediction is essential. Conventional flood prediction models frequently fail because the models ignore important hydrological elements like water discharge and instead solely use rainfall data. This limitation was addressed by the combination of rainfall and water discharge data on internet of things (IoT)-based technologies. It focuses on analyzing historical records from flood-prone areas in Semarang using gated recurrent unit (GRU) models. The findings demonstrate how effectively the GRU model performs when rainfall and water discharge factors are taken into account, resulting in very accurate and dependable predictions of flood events. Precision, Recall, and F1-score are evaluation metrics that demonstrate the accuracy on which the model determines flood emergency statuses. This study advances flood prediction methods and highlights the value of integrating internet of things data to improve preparedness and resilience against flood disasters.

Abstract

Vulnerability assessment is a process to look for system security gaps that can cause information technology process system failure. In carrying out a vulnerability assessment there are three main stages, namely information collection, assessment and exploit using the Greybone Openvas tool with a Full Scan template on the object and several credentials provided by a website. From the vulnerability assessment process, five vulnerabilities were found on assets, namely critical risk with a few 0, high risk with a few 2, medium risk with a few 2, and low risk with a few 1. Based on the conclusions from the vulnerability analysis the website and the results of identity verification, it was concluded that the website had a few weaknesses and vulnerabilities that needed to be fixed to maintain the security and quality of the website. Corrective actions on website configuration need to be taken such as setting cookies, SSL, HTTP headers, and others. SSL/TLS services do not accurately limit the renegotiation stage of the system, making it easier for attackers to carry out Denial of Service attacks by carrying out many renegotiations in one connection.

Abstract

The current development of the internet network in the digital era has progressed very rapidly and has become a major need that cannot be abandoned, especially for the Bringin District Government Service which does not yet have a good network, so the exchange of information is less effective. Therefore, it is necessary to design a network with VLAN configuration on IS-IS routing, and carry out network simulation using GNS3. QoS testing is carried out by sending data packets using the ICMP protocol and counting the data sent. This research shows that the results of VLAN network testing on IS-IS routing at the Bringin District Government Service have optimal performance according to the TIPHON standard with 0% packet loss, 11.28 ms delay, 0.78 Mbit/s throughput, and 0 ms jitter.

Abstract

At the Information Technology Faculty, Satya Wacana Christian University, load balancing systems are implemented where the web server serves 500 users. This is to prevent server overload or downtime during simultaneous access to the web server. Test results indicate significant differences in CPU usage, request time, and bandwidth between load balancing and single servers. The use of load balancing is more effective than relying on a single server, as evidenced by test results. The CPU usage with load balancing is significantly lower, with a difference of up to 45% compared to a single server. The request time with load balancing is also slightly better, with only 21.5ms compared to 42ms for a single server. However, the difference in bandwidth between load balancing and a single server is not very significant. The highest bandwidth recorded on a single server is 182kb/s, while with load balancing it reaches 165kb/s.

Abstract

Almost every year, forest and land fires occur in Indonesia, the impact of which is felt by the surrounding community and neighboring countries. Such as the recent fires in East Kotawaringin and Katingan, Central Kalimantan. The land affected by the fire is believed to be a concession belonging to a Malaysian company. According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the area of forest and land fires is calculated based on an analysis of Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS satellite imagery, which is compared (overlay) with data on the distribution of hotspots. In this research, the Internet of Things (IoT) can be useful in preventing forest fires that usually occur on the slopes of Merbabu during the dry season. IoT sensor technology can detect air humidity, temperature, and wind speed parameters for fires in the dry season. This study aims to warn of potential forest and land fires in Mount Merbabu by providing notifications from IoT sensors. From the sensor testing that has been done, it can be seen that the sensor can provide information accurately and in real-time. The tests were carried out in three places: at the foot of Mount Merbabu, the SWCU FTI Peak, and the rice fields. The different results in three places with different vegetation indices indicate that the design of a fire potential warning system based on the Internet of Things in the dry season (July – September) can be used in areas with a low vegetation index on the slopes of Mount Merbabu, the majority of which are dry and easy grasslands burnt.
