Abstract

Education and literacy are key components in forming an intelligent and skilled generation, with students' reading interest being a crucial indicator of literacy ability. Comprehensive education encompasses the development of spirituality, personality, intelligence, and skills, as stated in Law No. 20 of 2003. The government strives to enhance literacy through the School Literacy Movement (GLS), which aims to cultivate and improve literacy comprehensively and sustainably. This study examines the efforts of the NYALI (Nyaman Literasi) community at SMPN 20 Medan in increasing students' reading interest. NYALI creates a supportive environment for reading through various activities such as Book Tourism, short story classes, public speaking classes, an English Club, library volunteers, and peer tutors. This research uses a qualitative approach with surveys, observations, and interviews to evaluate the impact of literacy activities on students' reading interest. The results show that student participation in NYALI activities has increased their confidence and academic performance. Internal factors like motivation and external factors such as family and school environment play crucial roles in students' reading interest. School literacy programs, supported by the community and family, are essential for creating a generation that loves reading and possesses strong literacy skills.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how much influence motivation and self-efficacy have on employee performance through work discipline as an intervening variable at PT. Puput Tani Mandiri. The type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study were all employees of PT. Puput Tani Mandiri, totaling 80 people, the entire number will be used as a sample, so the sample in this study is 80 respondents. The method used is Structur Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Square (PLS) 3.0. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence of motivation on work discipline, there is a positive and significant influence of self-efficacy on work discipline, there is a positive and significant influence of motivation on employee performance, there is a positive and significant influence of self-efficacy on employee performance, there is an influence positive but not significant work discipline on employee performance, there is a positive but not significant influence of motivation on employee performance through work discipline and there is a positive but not significant influence of self-efficacy on employee performance through work discipline.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of ustadz in religious development of the Muslim community in Dusun II, Tuntungan II Village, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency. The Ustadz has a central role in guiding the community in religious matters, both through teaching, guidance in worship, and strengthening morals and Islamic values. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observation and documentation studies. This research found two things; Firstly, in the social structure of the Tuntungan village community, the ustadz has an important position, not only as a spiritual leader who provides religious guidance, but also as the main pillar in maintaining social harmony and strengthening religious values ​​in society. Second, the Ustadz plays an important function in cultivating Islamic teachings in the practice of daily life, he acts as a catalyst for change in society, as well as penetrating various social problems faced by society. Therefore, there is a need for further support from various parties, including the government and religious organizations, to strengthen the role of ustadz in religious formation

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Public Prosecutor's role as dominus litis in the handling of general criminal cases under the provisions of Law Number 20 of 2025 concerning the Indonesian Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). The dominus litis concept positions the Public Prosecutor not merely as a party who prosecutes cases in court but as the central controller of the entire criminal justice process, spanning from the investigation, inquiry, prosecution, trial, to the execution of court decisions. This research employs a normative-analytical approach, reviewing statutory regulations, legal doctrines, and criminal law theories, including the crime control and due process models, principles of the rule of law, mechanisms of checks and balances, and human rights protection. The study finds that KUHAP 2025 reinforces the Public Prosecutor's position as the central authority responsible for the continuity and consistency of all procedural stages. The implementation of dominus litis effectively balances the need for efficient law enforcement with the protection of the rights of suspects and defendants, thus ensuring a criminal justice system that is accountable, integrated, and just.
