Abstract

Kedatangan Belanda sebagai penjajah ke Nusantara, Indonesia banyak membawa perubahan dalam segala sistem yang sudah ada, khususnya bagi masyarakat muslim yang dulu pernah ada dalam kerajaan-kerajaan muslim yang kuat. Pada saat daerah nusantara sudah dikuasai penjajah kolonial maka banyak kebijakan yang diterapkannya baik dari segi politik, sosial maupun ekonomi yang agak berbeda dengan sebelumnya. Kebijakan-kebijakan tersebut pada masanya berdampak pada kebijakan pendidikan yang diatur kemudian oleh Belanda, termasuk dari gurunya, materi yang disampaikan sampai, sarana-prasana yang mendukung proses pembelajaran tersebut dan lain-lain. Bahkan Kebijakan pada pendirian sekolah agamapun diatur yang semuanya diharapkan tidak mengganggu pada aturan yang sudah ditetapkan oleh Belanda. Sehingga penganalisaan terhadap kebijakan yang dikeluarkan oleh pemerintah Belanda selama mereka menjajah di Indonesia ternyata banyak yang merugikan ummat Islam. Sebagai contoh banyak tamatan-tamatan dari sekolah agama tidak diterima, kemudian guru-guru agama yang dimarginalkan bahkan materinya harus dapat izin dari pemerintahan Belanda, setiap proses pembelajarannya selalu diamati karena dikhawatirkan terjadinya pemberontakan. Hal ini menjadikan pendidikan Islam kurang leluasa dan sulit berkembang. Walaupun demikian usaha untuk terus memperjuangkan dan mempertahankan pendidikan Islam diwujudkan terus dengan mendirikan beberapa lembaga pendidikan seperti pesantren maupun madrasah. Materi-materi di Madrasah digandakan dengan pembelajaran agama dan umum, agar siswanya dapat diterima dikalangan kepemerintahan Belanda pada waktu itu.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the Indonesian language learning process in the fifth grade of SD Negeri 17 Bilah Barat, to describe students' reading skills in Indonesian language learning in the fifth grade of SD Negeri 17 Bilah Barat, and to identify the factors hindering students' reading skills. Based on these objectives, the problems can be formulated as follows: how the learning process and students' reading skills are, as well as the supporting and hindering factors of students' reading skills in Indonesian language learning in the fifth grade of SD Negeri 17 Bilah Barat. Based on the objectives and problem formulation explained, this study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection methods in this study include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that 8 out of 23 students do not experience difficulties in reading skills, while 15 out of 23 students in the fifth grade-B of SD Negeri 17 Bilah Barat experience difficulties in reading skills.

Abstract

This study examines the historical and social development of Majlis Taklim in Medan City, focusing on its institutional evolution, the expansion of religious education, and its significant role in community empowerment. Using a qualitative methodology with a historical and social science approach, the research reveals how Majlis Taklim has grown from informal gatherings into structured institutions that not only provide religious education but also serve as centers for social and humanitarian activities. The findings highlight three key aspects: the social and political factors behind the establishment of Majlis Taklim, its formal institutional development, and the diversification of activities to include technology, social media, and targeted programs for different segments of society. Additionally, Majlis Taklim’s collaboration with governmental and religious organizations has strengthened its role in promoting Islamic values while addressing contemporary social issues. The study also identifies challenges such as limited resources, leadership issues, and the need for modernization to maintain relevance. The research concludes that Majlis Taklim plays a crucial role in shaping religious understanding, fostering social cohesion, and contributing to the social welfare of Medan’s Muslim community.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and implement a science board-based monopoly game in Social Sciences (IPS) subjects for 5th grade elementary school students. This monopoly game is designed as an innovative learning media that can increase learning interest, active involvement in students, increase learning motivation, active participation, and student understanding of IPS material. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method and with the 4D development model, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate which involves the stages of needs analysis, product design, expert validation, product trials, and evaluation. The results of the study showed that: 1) Based on the results of the average feasibility of the expert material validator assessment, media experts and teacher responses showed that the media for developing a monopoly game based on the IPS science board that had been developed with an average percentage value of 94.625% so that it was included in the category of feasible to use. 2) Based on the average results of the practicality of a media, students gave a very positive response to the media for developing monopoly games based on the social studies subject science board that was developed, showing the overall percentage results obtained from the distribution of student response questionnaires for class V SDN 101751 Klambir V, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency with an average value of 90% with a very practical category. 3) Based on the results of the average effectiveness of the Pretest and Post-test through a Likert scale, it shows that the media for developing monopoly games based on the social studies subject science board that has been developed is included in the Effective category, with an average percentage value of 90.68%. \ n So it can be concluded that the media for developing monopoly games based on the social studies subject science board for class V students at SDN 101751 Klambir Lima Village, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra is very effective so that it is suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan menganalisis kontribusi peradaban Islam terhadap proses lahirnya Renaisans di Eropa. Fokus pada penelitian ini adalah menelusuri transfer ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, seni, dan filsafat dari dunia Islam ke Eropa selama abad pertengahan, terutama melalui interaksi yang terjadi di Andalusia, jalur perdagangan, dan terjemahan karya-karya ilmiah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan, di mana data diperoleh dari berbagai sumber primer dan sekunder seperti manuskrip, dokumen sejarah, literatur akademik, dan karya ilmiah lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peradaban Islam memainkan peran signifikan dalam memicu perkembangan intelektual yang menjadi dasar bagi renaisans di Eropa. Melalui pusat-pusat pembelajaran seperti Bait Al-Hikmah di Baghdad dan perpustakaan di Andalusia, ilmuwan Muslim berhasil melestarikan, mengembangkan, dan menyebarluaskan ilmu pengetahuan bagi peradaban Yunani, Persia, dan negara lainnya. Proses translasi karya-karya ilmiah ke dalam bahasa Latin oleh sarjana Eropa juga menjadi jembatan utama yang memungkinkan penyerapan ilmu pengetahuan Islam.  Selain itu bidang matematika, kedokteran, astronomi, filsafat juga mempercepat laju intelektual di Eropa yang mendorong lahirnya Renaisans. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peradaban Islam tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penjaga warisan pengetahuan klasik, tetapi juga sebagai inovator yang memberikan fondasi bagi kebangkitan budaya dan intelektual di Eropa.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the nature of the phenomenon of the YouTube GadgetIn audience, using an illustrative subjective methodology involving a top-down encounter strategy. The researchers applied an observational information gathering procedure to examine perceptions of the content presented by YouTube GadgetIn, especially related to meeting the needs of viewers in the world of technology. This study also explores views on YouTube as a social media using New Media and Uses & Gratifications theories, to see how media can evolve and develop by utilizing ideas from pre-existing media. The results of this study are expected to provide new insights into audience interaction with technology content and the role of YouTube in the context of social media.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving critical thinking skills of students of V MIN 2 Sibolga in the Citizenship Education (PKN) class curriculum. The findings of this study are supported by students' critical thinking skills obtained from the results of the KKM exam and the low level of participation in traditional classroom learning. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Non-equivalent Control Group design, this study involved 44 students in the control group (conventional) and the experimental group (PBL). The purpose of the research instrument, namely a double test, was to assess students' critical thinking skills before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group that implemented the PBL model. The average post-test score of the experimental group reached 87.50, far exceeding the control group which only reached 60.42. Statistical analysis using the paired sample t-test produced a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which is smaller than α (0.05). This finding indicates a significant positive effect of the application of the PBL model on improving students' critical thinking skills. The results of this study indicate that the PBL model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in PKN classes. This model successfully encourages students to actively participate in their education and develop their analytical skills. This study recommends the use of the PBL model not only in PKN education but also in other subject areas to maximize students' growth in critical thinking. The application of the PBL model can be a potential solution to overcome the challenges of improving students' achievement and critical thinking skills at the highest level of elementary school.

Abstract

Islam has the ability to adapt to various existing places and situations without being contaminated. Mosques are an important component in classical Islamic education. On the other hand, Kuttab is a pre-Islamic educational institution which is a form of adaptation and modification of Muslims to the old heritage. Then Kuttab experienced significant development as a respectable and dignified educational institution. The universality of Islam is also demonstrated through non-Muslim kuttab teachers, without questioning Islam which is an important part of the kuttab institution. The purpose of this article is to describe the existence of mosques as the original form of early Islamic educational institutions which were the forerunners of the emergence of Kuttab and madrasa educational institutions. By answering the various questions above through in-depth analysis and interpretation, it is hoped that this article can become a reference for finding out significant changes to education in mosques, kuttabs and madrasas. This article uses a type of qualitative research with a study approach (library research). The analysis used is by using the Miles & Huberman interaction model. What this article produces is the historical development of Islamic education, social changes in education in mosques which gave rise to kuttab institutions and madrasah institutions.

Abstract

This research discusses "The Influence of External Factors During the Decline of the First Period (1250-1500 AD)". The main focus of this research is to find external factors that were behind the decline of Islam in the first period. The formulation of the problem regarding the influence of external factors during the decline of Islam in the first period is 1) What was the social condition of Muslims during the decline of Islam in the first period? 2) What were the causes of the decline of Islam in the first period due to external factors? 3) What were the impacts of the first period of Islamic decline on external factors? Through qualitative methods with a library research approach. The main data sources include books on Islamic history/culture, as well as scientific works related to the First Period of Islamic Decline. This approach allows an in-depth analysis of the influence of external factors during the first period of Islamic decline (1250-1500 AD) which is relevant to related history books.
