Abstract

Results This research aims to determine student learning outcomes by applying the Rolling Ball learning media in fiqh subjects and as an alternative for teachers in an effort to provide understanding to students and improve student learning outcomes in fiqh subjects. The method used in this research is quantitative. Data collection instruments through observation, interviews, pre-test and post-test questions. The subjects taken in this research were the MA Al-Bayruni school class XI-IPA 2 Sambong. The results of the data normality test obtained values from the pre-test and post-test results that were greater than 0.05, namely 0.091>0.05 and 0.026>0.05, it can be concluded that the data is normally distributed. The results of the analysis using the t test obtained a result of 0.008 < 0.05 so it can be said that there is an influence from the application of the Rolling Ball learning model to student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of teacher roles in the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum at MAN 4 Jombang, and to identify significant differences between the two. The shift in national curriculum policy requires teachers to adapt professionally, especially in terms of teaching approaches, assessment strategies, and student empowerment. This research employed a quantitative comparative approach using questionnaires distributed to 37 students of Class X MIA 3 and structured interviews with teachers. Validity, reliability, normality, and homogeneity tests were conducted to ensure data feasibility. The data were then analyzed using an independent sample t-test with SPSS version 22. The results show a significant difference in students’ perceptions of teacher roles between the two curricula (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05). Teachers under the Merdeka Curriculum tend to act more as facilitators and flexible learning guides, while under the 2013 Curriculum, teachers assume a more structured and directive role. These findings indicate a paradigm shift in education that demands teachers to be more adaptive, reflective, and innovative in facilitating the learning process.

Abstract

Learning Arabic as a foreign language presents challenges due to its complex grammar, vocabulary, and speaking skills, often leading to low student motivation. Traditional teaching methods may not sufficiently engage students, which calls for innovative approaches to enhance learning. One such method is the use of Wordwall, a digital platform offering interactive educational games. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Wordwall in increasing students' enthusiasm and understanding of Arabic at MA Al-Bairuny. Using a classroom action research design, the research includes stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through pretests, posttests, observations, and questionnaires. The pretest and posttest were used to measure improvements in student understanding, while observations and questionnaires assessed their engagement. The results indicate that Wordwall significantly improved student learning outcomes, with 100% of students completing the posttest successfully, showing a marked improvement over the pretest. Additionally, most students reported that learning with Wordwall was more engaging and helped them understand the material better. Observations further revealed that students were more active in class compared to traditional methods. In conclusion, Wordwall is an effective tool for enhancing student motivation and understanding in Arabic learning. It is recommended as an innovative teaching strategy for educators, and future research should explore its impact on improving speaking and writing skills in Arabic.

Abstract

Education does not only function as a means of transferring knowledge, but also plays an important role in shaping students’ character, one of which is independence. Islamic Religious Education (IRE) holds a strategic position in instilling values of independence through meaningful learning processes. In this context, academic supervision becomes an essential instrument to improve the quality of IRE learning so that character values can be optimally integrated. This study aims to analyze the implementation of academic supervision in Islamic Religious Education in strengthening students’ independent character at SMA Negeri Kesamben, the role of IRE academic supervision in fostering students’ independent character, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The research subjects included the vice principal for curriculum affairs, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students of SMA Negeri Kesamben. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. The results show that IRE academic supervision is implemented through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. Academic supervision plays a role in guiding IRE teachers to integrate independent character values into the learning process. However, its implementation has not been fully optimal due to time constraints, teachers’ workload, and limited understanding of character-based IRE learning. Therefore, IRE academic supervision needs to be carried out in a coaching, reflective, and continuous manner so that the strengthening of students’ independent character can be achieved optimally.

Abstract

The rapid development of internet technology has had a significant impact on the field of education, particularly in its use as a medium for learning evaluation. One medium that can be used is Wordwall, a website that provides various game templates that can be filled with evaluation questions. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Wordwall as an evaluation medium in Akidah Akhlak learning at MTsN 16 Jombang. This study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The research population consisted of all students of MTsN 16 Jombang, whereas the research sample was the students of class VII-A. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test to test the predetermined hypothesis. The results showed that Wordwall was effectively used as an evaluation medium in Akidah Akhlak learning, as indicated by an increase in the mean pretest score of 68 to a mean posttest score of 89. In addition, the results of the Wilcoxon test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, so H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. These findings confirm that Wordwall can be an effective innovation in supporting the evaluation of Akidah Akhlak learning, while also contributing to the more efficient use of educational technology and the reduction of paper use in the evaluation process.

Abstract

Although learning difficulties in Islamic education have been widely examined, studies that specifically discuss teachers’ strategies in overcoming learning difficulties in the Islamic Cultural History (SKI) subject at the MTs level remain limited. This study aims to describe the forms of students’ learning difficulties, the obstacles faced by teachers, and the strategies implemented by teachers in overcoming learning difficulties in the SKI subject. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, involving one SKI teacher and three Grade VII students at MTs Darul Ulum Kepuhdoko Jombang as informants selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students experienced difficulties in understanding the chronological sequence of historical events, memorizing the names of figures and years, low reading interest, and lack of concentration during learning. The obstacles faced by the teacher included limited learning media, heterogeneous student abilities, and inadequate learning time. The strategies implemented by the teacher included group discussions, individual and group presentations, repeated practice or drills, motivational approaches, and the use of simple media such as timelines and written summaries. These strategies helped reduce some of students’ learning difficulties, although innovation in learning methods and media is still needed. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of teachers’ strategic creativity in improving the effectiveness of SKI learning. The implications of this study provide theoretical contributions to the development of the literature on Islamic Religious Education learning strategies and practical guidance for teachers and educational institutions in developing more interactive and contextual SKI learning.
