Abstract

This research was aimed at explaining the learning motivation of the second grade of Junior High School students at Sekolah Minggu Buddha Maitreya Medan in learning Mandarin. Besides, the goal of this research was to describe the factors that influence their learning motivation. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative design. The subjects of this study was 20 students of the second grade of Junior High School students at Sekolah Minggu Buddha Maitreya. Motivation is divided into intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Thus, the study of the students’ learning motivation was separated according to the type of motivation. The results showed that there were about 8 students that had intrinsic motivation, while there were about 11 students that had extrinsic motivation. The factors that underlie this finding was due to the difficulty that the students faced in learning Mandarin.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mengkaji model penelitian yang dibangun berdasarkan hubungan kausal asosiatif antara variabel eksogenus dengan variabel endogenus kinerja guru diimplementasikan pada SD di kota Medan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat, baik manfaat teoritis maupun manfaat praktis. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis keempat diperoleh koefisien jalur yang signifikan antara budaya organisasi dengan motivasi kerja, yaitu: ρ51 = 0,285. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis keenam diperoleh koefisien jalur yang signifikan  antara kompetensi pedagogik dengan motivasi kerja, yaitu:  ρ53= 0,196. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan hasil perhitungan pengaruh proporsional diperoleh pengaruh langsung kompetensi pedagogik terhadap motivasi kerja sebesar 0,038. Jadi, kompetensi pedagogik berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap  motivasi kerja, yang mana 3,8 %  perubahan-perubahan motivasi kerja dapat ditentukan oleh kompetensi pedagogik

Abstract

Language is a distinctive sign that distinguishes humans from other creatures and is used as a communication interaction. Language can differ from one country to another and from one tribe to another. Language shows the nation and the people who live in it, language can show how strong and how independent a nation is and how classy a nation is in its time. The objectives of implementing this Community Service activity are 1. To increase awareness of students at Gadjah Mada Middle School in Medan, 2. To provide students with an understanding of basic learning of numbers in Mandarin, 3. To provide moral and material support for students in blending in with the community various tribes and ethnicities., 4. Instill One Family World Values ​​through Information and Communication Technology. The target of this community service is Gadjah Mada Middle School students consisting of class VII, VIII and class IX. This Community Service activity is a visit and socialization with the theme Increasing the Role of Students in the Teaching Campus 4 Introduction to Numbers in Mandarin for Students of SMP Gadjah Madan Medan. The outputs generated from this Community Service are documentation about socialization and learning for students and reports as proof of community service that are published in the Community Service Journal institution.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Mandarin language competency, networking, and popularity on career support in Medan City. A quantitative methodology was utilized to collect data via questionnaires distributed to 30 participants, which were subsequently evaluated using validity and reliability assessments, descriptive statistics, and linear regression. The results demonstrate that skills in Mandarin and networking do not substantially impact career support; instead, popularity exerts a considerable influence. When evaluated collectively, the three variables substantially influence career support. The results indicate that while Mandarin language proficiency and networking do not substantially aid job advancement, popularity is vital. The comprehensive analysis highlights the significance of Mandarin language proficiency, relationship cultivation, and popularity in enhancing career prospects in Medan.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effectiveness of wardah advertisements through Instagram social media on active @wardahbeauty followers on Instagram. Consumers who use social media Instagram @wardah beauty are active with a total of 92 followers. The data analysis technique used in this study is a validity test, reliability using SPP version 20.0 Based on the results of the study, the validity and reliability test of the questionnaire for each statement item was declared valid and the results obtained were that the independent variable, namely advertising effectiveness (X) had a positive and significant influence on the dependent variable, namely purchase decision (Y), this is indicated by the tcount value = 5.603 and ttable = 2.01537 then tcount > ttable, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on simple linear regression calculations, the regression equation Y = 25.982 + 0.531X + e means that every time there is an increase in the purchasing decision variable by 0.531, it will affect the effectiveness of advertising. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.416 (41.6%). So it can be said that 41.6% of the dependent variable, namely advertising effectiveness in this study, can explain purchasing decisions while the remaining 58.4% is influenced by other variables outside the variables studied.

Abstract

This study sought to ascertain the impact of rewards and incentives for top-performing employees on employee morale at Manufacturing Company. The study population consisted of 180 employees at Manufacturing Company. The sample was selected using the random sampling approach. The sample size in this study consisted of 45 employees. This research falls under the category of quantitative research. Quantitative research focuses on measurable research objects and uses numerical or ratio-based variables to address specific problem formulations or test stated hypotheses. The multiple regression analysis yielded the equation Y = 5,263 + 0,422X1 + 0,447X2 + e, indicating that rewards and incentives had a statistically significant positive impact on staff morale. Concurrently, the outcomes of the test (t) or partial test indicate that awards favorably and favorably impact staff morale. Where is the value of tcount 3.286 visible? The t-table value of 2.01808 and the significance value of 0.002 indicate that the influence of the incentive variable on employee morale is positive and substantial. The t-count value of 3.693 further supports this finding. Similarly, the t-table value of 2.01808 and the significance value of 0.001 indicate a significant effect of the incentive variable on employee morale, with α set at 0.05. The coefficient of determination was determined to be 0.681. The independent variables, reward, and incentives, account for 68.1% of the variation in the employee morale variable. The remaining 31.9% is attributed to other variables not included in the model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana aktivitas Bahasa Mandarin di dalam dan di luar kelas mempengaruhi kualitas siswa dan promosi sekolah. Data dari penelitian ini didasarkan pada informasi yang didapat langsung dari sumber asli langsung. Ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode deskripsi studi korelasi. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 40 siswa dari Sekolah Dasar Global Prima Medan. Hasil analisis variabel menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas kelas mempunyai peran yang signifikan pada kenaikan kualitas siswa, dengan korelasi 0,378. Selain itu, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler memiliki dampak positif dan signifikan pada kualitas siswa, dengan korelasi 0,392. Studi ini juga memeriksa dampak peran dalam dan luar sekolah pada promosi sekolah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa peran dalam sekolah memiliki dampak yang signifikan pada promosi sekolah, dengan korelasi 0,457. Demikian pula, peran ekstrakurikuler memiliki dampak positif dan signifikan pada promosi sekolah, dengan korelasi 0,503. Sebagai kesimpulan, kajian ini menekankan pentingnya aktiviti dalam dan luar sekolah untuk meningkatkan kualiti pelajar dan mempromosikan sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of motivation and the difficulties faced by non-Chinese students in learning Mandarin at SMA Methodist-6 Medan. The background of this research is the increasing demand for Mandarin proficiency in Indonesia, following the growing bilateral relations between Indonesia and China and the increasing career opportunities requiring Mandarin skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, where data is collected through questionnaires distributed to non-Chinese students. The results show that most students have high motivation to learn Mandarin, particularly instrumental motivation related to career opportunities. However, the main difficulties they face lie in writing and speaking skills, which are caused by the structural differences between Mandarin and Indonesian, as well as limited opportunities to practice outside the school environment. Additionally, there is an indication of a gap between students' high motivation and their actual ability to overcome linguistic barriers. The Pearson correlation test results show a weak and insignificant positive relationship between motivation and learning difficulties. Based on these findings, it is suggested that a more contextual and communicative learning approach should be applied to address the learning difficulties faced by students and improve their Mandarin language skills.
