Abstract

Formal education is a conscious effort that has been carried out by managers of educational organizations. This education empties into the learning process of cognitive aspects, the ability to achieve academic achievements and tested through written examinations in school. Formal education has limitations reaching the affective and psychomotor aspects of students. These two aspects have a realm for presenting superior and high personality characters. Education should bring the character of students in accordance with the expectations of the vision and mission of the educational institution. These problems need to take steps to establish religious extracurricular activities in the form of Islamic Day and routine prayer services in schools so that they can form personalities based on religious values and norms. This study uses a qualitative research approach and the type uses case studies. This research was conducted at the Brawijaya Mojokerto Islamic Middle School which aims to determine the planning of religious extracurricular programs in schools, religious extracurricular activities in efforts to shape the religious character of students in schools, and evaluate the religious extracurricular implementation of the formation of religious character of students in schools.

Abstract

This research aims to explore and construct leadership values ​​based on Tau Samawa culture. This research employed a literature review method. It is found that the current leadership in in crisis. The results shows that Tau Samawa as local wisdom has seven leadership philosophies as stated in the Musakara Rea Minutes of the Samawa Traditional Institute. These are Pamendi to Panyadu, mutual pedi', Saling Satingi, Saling Tulung, Saling Satotang, Saling Sayaman Ate, Adab Edab Boa Ela, and Satemung. These leadership philosophies are very much needed in building a human civilization that has a national religious character, since they manifest in leadership characters, namely religious, caring, sensitive, and most importantly, these philosophies will create leaders who are able to balance heart, mind, words, and actions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss moderate characteristics in Anwarul Huda Islamic boarding school Malang. Characters have identification with students in everyday life. Character gives image implications to individuals and institutions. The aspect of Islamic boarding school institutions is not just building an image, but instilling moderate speech and behavior. A moderate civilization requires space for continuous habituation. This requires a specific strategy that has been used. This strategy is a coaching tool to foster moderate attitudes of students. The method in this study is classified as descriptive research. The data obtained by the researcher will be used in describing the implementation of the takzir method on the formation of moderate character of students using primary and secondary data sources. Data collection is carried out by observation, interviews and documentation The results of this study obtain a moderate character, namely national commitment is realized by commemorating Indonesian holidays, multicultural awareness by respecting each other's opinions when performing bahtsul masail, and non-violence, by not discriminating between senior and junior students supporting activities with roan (kerjabakti) and making articles and videos. Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between transformational leadership, organizational culture, quality assurance, and organizational performance. It also examined the mediating effect of quality assurance in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational performance, and between organizational culture and organizational performance. The instruments in the form of Google forms were distributed to employees who work in quality assurance units in several public and private Islamic higher education institutions for 6 months, June-December 2019. 128 Data were processed and analyzed out of 135 data collected. The five-point Likert scale was used to assess the variables and to measure the items. Furthermore, Partial Least Square (PLS) was used to test the proposed hypotheses. This study found that the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational performance both directly and indirectly through quality assurance was not significant. Transformational leadership also did not affect quality assurance. On the other hand, organizational culture was proven to be able to influence high organizational performance and quality assurance. Besides, quality assurance could not mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational performance, but it can positively and significantly mediate in the relationship between organizational culture and organizational performance. The results provided by this study provide the understanding and linking among transformational leadership, organizational culture, quality assurance, and organizational performance among Islamic higher education institutions (IHEIs). While the extent of leadership research has conducted in manufactures organizations, this study shifted the focus of attention to the religious-based institutions (IHEIs).

Abstract

Teacher professionalism and student learning motivation are critical factors influencing student achievement, including in the context of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam, PAI). This study investigates the extent to which teacher professionalism and student learning motivation affect PAI learning outcomes at the UM Laboratory Junior High School in Malang City, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative correlational research design, the study involved a randomly selected sample of 113 students from grades VII and VIII. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 27, incorporating classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results indicate that teacher professionalism has a statistically significant effect on PAI learning outcomes (p = 0.001), contributing 27.3% to the variance in outcomes. Student learning motivation also showed a significant effect (p = 0.001), with a larger contribution of 54.0%. When analyzed jointly, both variables significantly influenced PAI learning outcomes, with a combined explanatory power of 48.2%. These findings highlight the pivotal role of both teacher competence and student motivation in enhancing the effectiveness of PAI instruction. The study underscores the need for targeted interventions aimed at improving teacher professionalism and fostering student motivation to support more meaningful and successful learning experiences in religious education.

Abstract

This study examines the management of hajj services and its role in improving the satisfaction of hajj pilgrims at the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Malang Regency, which aims to evaluate the management of hajj services and the satisfaction of hajj pilgrims at the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Malang Regency. The type of research used is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Through this approach, which is intended to explain the existing conditions and problems in the environment of the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Malang Regency, this study evaluates current service management practices and identifies the main factors that contribute to the satisfaction of hajj pilgrims. The subjects of this study were hajj pilgrims who had performed the hajj and received services from the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Malang Regency. Data were collected using surveys, interviews, and observational studies involving hajj pilgrims and office staff. The findings of the study revealed that effective service management significantly improves various aspects of the hajj experience, especially in areas such as transportation logistics, accommodation quality, and administrative efficiency. This study underscores the need for continuous assessment of service management strategies to align with the evolving needs and expectations of pilgrims. By emphasizing a collaborative approach to service delivery, the study highlights the importance of better resource allocation, proactive problem solving, and integration of advanced technologies to improve service efficiency. The study’s insights provide valuable recommendations for policymakers and practitioners seeking to improve Hajj service standards and, as a result, overall pilgrim satisfaction. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how optimized service management can transform the Hajj experience. By addressing key areas for improvement and adopting a responsive and pilgrim-centered approach, the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office in Malang Regency can ensure a more fulfilling and spiritually satisfying Hajj journey for pilgrims. The implications of this study extend beyond the local context, offering valuable lessons for Hajj service providers globally in their efforts to improve pilgrim satisfaction and service quality.
