Abstract

ABSTRACTSlaughterhouse liquid waste contains fair organic materials that can be used as nutrient source for growing  Spirulina sp. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fermented slaughterhouse waste as alternative nutrients for the growth of Spirulina sp. This study was conducted in September-October 2019. RAL method was applied with 5 different concentrations, there were 0 ml/4L (P0), 400 ml/4L (P1), 800 ml/4L (P2), 1,200 ml/4L (P3) and 1,600 ml/4L (P4), with 3 repetitions. Parameters measured were Spirulina sp. abundance, nitrate and phosphate content. Results shown that Spirulina sp. grow well in all treatments, except in control. The best result was provided by P3 (4,907 x 103cells/ml) that was achieved on the 9th day. Nitrate and phosphate content   decreased during the experiment, the nitrate was reduced by 5.2091 mg/L or 87.2 %, while the phosphate was reduced by 18.784 mg/L or 84.1 %. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that the peat water can be enriched by addition of fermented slaughterhouse waste and it can be used as nutrients for growing Spirulina sp. Keywords: nutrient, liquid waste, microalgae, algae culture

Abstract

ABSTRACTWaste pollution One of the distributors that produces liquid waste and has the potential to pollute water is restaurants.Peat water has a low nutrient content, but can be enriched by addition of fermented restaurant waste. This media can be used to grow Spirullina sp. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of fermented restaurant waste  as an alternative nutrient for the growth of Spirullina sp. This research was conducted in September-October 2019. RAL method was applied with 5 concentrations of fermented restaurant waste solutions, there were 400 ml / 2 L (P1), 800 ml / 2 L (P2), 1,200 ml / 2 L (P3), 1,600 ml / 2 L (P4), 0 ml / 2 L (P0/ control), with 3 repetitions. Each experimental unit was added with 100 ml of Spirullina sp (106 cells/L) and cultured for 10 days.  Results shown that Spirullina sp. grow well in all treatments, except control. The best results were obtained in P3 (5,625 x 106 cells/L and 3.0 g/L dried biomass) thatwas achieved in the 8th day.   Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that peat water can be enriched by fermented restaurant waste and can be used as nutrition for the growth of Spirullina sp.Keywords :Pollution, Organik Matters, Microalgae, Alternative Nutrient.

Abstract

 AbstractTofu liquid waste is rich in TSS and COD so it needs to be treated before being discharged into the environment. This study aims to reduce TSS and COD in tofu wastewater using biofilter added to EM4, which was conducted in May-July 2019. The design of this experiment uses 3 kontrols, 3 treatments and 3 replications with consisting of the addition of 17 ml, 20 ml and 23 ml EM4. The treatments were all placed in anaerobic and aerobic drums. Then tofu liquid waste that is biofilter using EM4 is tested to determine the TSS and COD concentrations. The processed waste is then used to raise Carp (CyprinusCarpio) as a test fish. The results of this study indicate that after tofu wastewater is processed using biofilter added EM4, it turns out that the concentration of TSS in water is reduced at P2 (20 ml) which is 150 mg / L and decreases by 97.61%, and the COD concentration is reduced at P2 (20 ml ) ie 106.33 mg / L and a decrease of 98.89%. Goldfish (CyprinusCarpio) in the use of tofu liquid waste that has been processed to get percentage of a livelihood of 93.33% in P2U1. It can be concluded that granting EM4 in Biofilters is able to reduce TSS and COD in the liquid waste industry know and already meet the requirements of raw water wastewater according to regulation Minister of Environment No 5 year 2014.Keyword : Tofu Liquid Waste Effective microorganism 4, Cyprinus Carpio

Abstract

A research aims to understand the effectiveness of the use of palm (Elaisguineensis) shell as biofilter media in the aerobic system to decrease the ammonialevel in the tempe industry liquid waste has been conducted in the Tuah Karya Village,Pekanbaru. Results shown that during the seeding period, the value of ammonia was23.37-39.12 mg/L in the inlet. During the research period, the ammonia value was19.78-27.63 mg/L and by using the palm shell, the value was 25.52-39.48 mg/L in theinlet and 18.85-30.64 mg/L in the outlet. Without using the palm shell, the ammoniavalue was around 33.12-41.35 mg/L in the inlet and 28.17-34.69 mg/L in the outlet.Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the used of palm shell iseffecient to decrease the ammonia level in the tempe industry liquid waste.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the laboratory of waste Processing Technology and the laboratory of Water Quality Management in the FAPERIKA – UNRI. The aim of this research is to identify the ability of chitosan in reducing the level of TSS in the wastewater of plywood industry. The method used in this research is  experimental study with completely randomized design, one factor, 4 level, 12 units of trial. Several concentration of chitosan such as 0 mg/L, 15 mg/L, 30 mg/L were applied on the wastewater and observed after 8 hours, 12 hours and 16 hours. The result shown that 12 hours after addition of 30 mg chitosan /L, the quality of the waste improved : TSS 182,3 – 56,7 mg/L, Phenol 2,4 - 0,5 mg/L, BOD5 132-93 mg/L, COD 279-217 mg/L and pH 6 - 9.

Abstract

AbstractRestaurant liquid waste may pollute aquatic environment as it has high oil and fat content. It should be processed before being flown to environment. This study aims to understand the effectiveness of EM4 addition in reducing oil or fat content in the restaurant liquid waste. This research was carried out in February 2020 at the Naga Sakti street No. 18, Al Ma’ruf alley, Pekanbaru. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was applied with 3 treatments, namely P0 (without EM4), P1 (7.5 ml EM4), P2 (10 ml EM4), P3 (12.5 ml EM4) and 3 replications. The restaurant liquid waste was kept in the biofilter tank for 6 days (3 days in the anaerob and 3 days in the aerob tanks) and then oil and fat were analyzed. The best result was obtained in the P1 (7.5 ml EM4). In that treatment oil and fat decreased from 16.20 mg/L into 2.67 mg/L. The treated liquid waste was then use for rearing Pangasius sp. sized 4-5 cm for 96 hours. The survival rate of the fish was 100%. Data obtained shown that the addition of EM4 to the biofilter tanks was able to reduce the fat content in the restaurant liquid waste.Keywords :Effective Microorganism-4, Anaerob tanks, Aerob tanks, Pangasius sp.

Abstract

Saluran kanal dibangun sebagai cadangan air untuk kawasan perkebunan, mengatasi kebakaran hutan dan lahan serta sarana transportasi. Selain itu saluran kanal dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat melalui usaha budidaya ikan. Penelitian ini berujuan untuk mengidentifikasi saluran kanal yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pengembangan budidaya ikan, dan menilai kualitas air dan budidaya ikan pada saluran kanal di kawasan gambut.Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Pelalawan, Provinsi Riau.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan panjang total saluran kanal di Kabupaten Pelalawan sepanjang 4.730.958 meter, terdiri dari dengan izin IUPHHK sepanjang 3.071.338 meter, izin HGU sepanjang 726.380 meter dan kanal masyarakat sepanjang 933.240 meter.Saluran kanal yang dikelola masyarakat yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk usaha budidaya ikan sekitar 1% dari 933.240meter atau 9.332 meter.Kualitas air di saluran kanal terdiri dari pH berkisar 3.9-4.7, suhu 26-31 oC, oksigen terlarut 2.50-2.80 ppm, amoniak 0.43-0.58 dan kecerahan 25-30 cm.. Ikan yang dapat dipelihara adalah jenis ikan lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus) dengan kepadatan 150 ekor/m2 (300 ekor/wadah) dengan wadah budidaya adalah karamba modifikasi yaitu bagian bawah dan sebagian dinding tertutup oleh papan yang dilapisi plastik terpal, sedangkan jenis ikan lainnya adalah jenis Toman yang relatif mudah dalam pemeliharaannya. Berdasarkan analisis didapatkan bobot mutlak 136,5 g, laju pertumbuhan harian 7,6 %, tingkat kelulushidupan 91 % dan konversi pakan 0,8 untuk ikan lele dumbo.
