Abstract

One of the main sectors that uses the largest electrical energy in a country is the commercial sector. One of the parts of this sector is education. This sector has a sub-sector. It is called a building. Electrical energy conservation efforts are needed to streamline electrical energy consumption by looking at energy-saving opportunities. This research was conducted at Halim Building and Wiweko Building in Institut Teknologi Dirgantara Adisutjipto (ITDA), Yogyakarta. The research was conducted by taking energy audit data regarding the level of electrical energy consumption as seen from the Energy Consumption Intensity (IKE) parameter. The research method began with the data collection. Furthermore, the data were processed using Ms. Excel, SPSS, and Matlab. Statistics analysis with ANOVA was carried out to conclude what parameters affected IKE. The results showed that the IKE value of the Halim Building was 30,48 kWh/m2/year and the IKE value of the Wiweko Building was 24,16 Wh/m2/year. The IKE value was still significant in the efficient category following   ESDM & JICA Electric Power Development Co. LTD standards.

Abstract

The application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology will be one of the technologies that complements all fields along with the increasing use of smartphones. The purpose of this research is to design an on-off control system for lights and servo motors as door latch actuator based on IoT. The designed system can give commands on/off the lamp or door latch actuator and display the on/off indicators through an application on an Android smartphone. The system is designed using a Wemos D1 mini microcontroller as a processor, light sensor, infrared sensor, relay, servo motor, and RemoteXY app. Based on the test results, the system design has been successfully implemented and can be operated as an on-off controller via the internet with an Android smartphone. For each test performed, the system managed to provide an output that matches the given control input. The response time (delay) of the relay when on or off the lamp about 34,83 ms while the response time of the servo motor when opening and closing the latch takes about 38,93 ms. The notification shown corresponds to the state of the lamp and the state of the latch.

Abstract

Praktek kerja lapangan merupakan sarana bagi mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan pengalaman kerja di industri.  Namun, dimasa pandemic Covid-19, beberapa perusahaan tidak dapat menerima mahasiswa secara langsung. Disisi lain, sebagian fresh graduate masih belum mendapatkan tempat kerja yang sesuai harapan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi tentang aplikasi UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) di industri, Avionic dan dunia kerja kepada mahasiswa dan alumni Teknik Elektro Institut Teknologi Dirgantara Adisutjipto. Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan dalam bentuk webinar melalui media zoom meeting dan dapat diikuti oleh masyarakat umum. Untuk mendapatkan umpan balik peserta, tim pengabdian menggunakan kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada peserta. Peserta cukup antusias untuk mengikuti kegiatan ini selama tiga hari berturut-turut dan dapat menerima materi pengetahuan yang diberikan oleh pemateri. Berdasarkan data kuesioner, kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan wawasan peserta tentang aplikasi UAV, Avionic dan dunia kerja Teknik Elektro.

Abstract

Pengetahuan avionik merupakan hal yang mendalam sangat diperlukan bagi alumni prodi Teknik Elektro Institut Teknologi Dirgantara Adisutjipto. Dengan diberlakukannya kurikulum 2019, mahasiswa prodi ini telah dibekali pengetahuan avionik sesuai dengan target. Namun pengetahuan ini belum sepenuhnya didapat bagi mahasiswa Teknik Elektro dan mahasiswa angkatan sebelumnya dan juga alumni Teknik Elektro. Untuk itulah diperlukan program untuk memberikan pengetahuan avionik secara lebih mendalam kepada mereka. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini memberikan materi avionik Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) kepada para mahasiswa Teknik Elektro dan sebelumnya dan juga alumni. Program ini diwujudkan dalam bentuk webinar dan dapat diikuti oleh masyarakat. Lebih jauh lagi, webinar ini juga dapat diikuti kapan saja di channel youtube, dengan harapan webinar ini dapat disaksikan kapan saja dan pengetahuan AHRS dapat disebarluaskan kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

Para siswa SMK pasti memiliki keinginan untuk nantinya dapat berkarya didunia industri dan salah satu contohnya adalah industri penerbangan. Akan tetapi banyak dari para siswa akan sulit untuk memahami dunia industri penerbangan ini dikarenakan adanya keterbatasan dalam wawasan dunia tersebut. Pada sistem kelistrikan pada pesawat terbang, terdapat beberapa sistem yang perlu dipelajari secara khusus dan salah satu contohnya adalah Integrated Drive Generator (IDG). Sistem IDG ini sangat penting untuk dipelajari dikarenakan dengan sistem ini maka frekuensi generator pada pesawat akan tetap berputar pada kecepatan yang konstan meskipun kecepatan pada mesin utama pesawat terbang berubah-ubah setiap saat.  Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi tentang IDG pada sistem kelistrikan pesawat terbang kepada siswa SMK Penerbangan AAG Adisutjipto. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan pemberian edukasi tentang dunia avionik penerbangan dengan beberapa modul sebagai sarana pembelajaran. Untuk mendapatkan umpan balik dari peserta, tim pengabdian membagikan kuesioner. Para peserta menunjukkan antusiasme yang besar selama kegiatan sehari penuh dan dapat memahami materi yang diberikan oleh pemateri. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini berhasil menambah dan memperluas pengetahuan siswa tentang IDG dalam sistem kelistrikan pesawat terbang.

Abstract

In today's aircraft industry, the flight control system and landing gear system cannot be separated from the role of the hydraulic technology system. As the prime mover of the hydraulic pump or actuator hydraulic system, a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is used. This PMSM is a substitute for the role of conventional combustion engines, and PMSM is considered to have several advantages in increasing performance and efficiency. This research will develop a system to find parameter values for Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) controllers in a hydraulic pump system that is installed as a load from PMSM and then observe and analyze the performance of the response of the synchronous motor system, namely in the form of changes in rotor rotation speed, torque electric power, and stator current on the q-axis. The results of the research on the characteristics of the PMSM implemented in the hydraulic pump system show that the LQG controller is more optimal when compared to the observer controller. The LQG controller is known to have a faster transient response, which is indicated by the value of the settling time improvement at no load, namely 116.67% for the observer controller and 364.705% without the controller. Then when the synchronous motor serves the nominal load, the rotational speed of the rotor produced in the steady state becomes 8.29% faster than the observer controller and 74.49% without the controller. This rotor's rotational speed affects the time the actuator needs to extend and retract motion.

Abstract

Depression in students is an emotional condition that lasts a long time and affects the thoughts, feelings, and behavior of students. Depression can make students feel down, lose interest and joy, and reduce their academic achievement. Depression can be triggered by various factors, such as family history, physical health problems, trauma or childhood experiences, and stressful life events. The solution that can be taken as an effort to prevent depression is to carry out positive education, which is an implementation of positive psychology. Seminars or community service events that raise the theme of positive psychology aim to educate educators in positive education, thus making them realize students’ happiness. Further, the educators are expected to help the students to be able to control or reduce their level of depression so that they can improve their academic achievement, and even better, for the future of the students themselves. In this community service, the stages conducted were data collection through opinion polls, discussions, and evaluations. Based on the results of the evaluation through questionnaires, the material presented was well received by the participants, and this activity succeeded in increasing their knowledge and insight into positive education as an implementation of positive psychology.

Abstract

Modern aircraft have experienced rapid development at this time, which is proven by the discovery of more complex systems on aircraft. One of the systems that has experienced rapid development is the autopilot, which can control the aircraft automatically. The design of the pitch attitude system begins by collecting data on the longitudinal motion of the aircraft, which is then converted into a mathematical equation of the transfer function for the pitch motion. After the pitch attitude instability is identified, a compensator is made to improve the stability of the pitch motion, with the compensator used in this study being the lead compensator. The main objective of this study is to create a system that can identify parameter values on the Luenberger Observer control and sliding mode control (SMC) in the flight control system. The results of several test experiments clearly show that the proposed SMC controller can produce better and more stable system performance.

Abstract

During the rainy season and bad weather, strong winds blowing at an airport can cause dynamic changes in performance of the primary surveillance radar (PSR) antenna which is driven by an induction motor (IM). Changes in dynamic performance that occur in this IM can be in the form of changes in PSR rotation speed, changes in torque values, and changes in stator current values. In this article, we propose the application of the Takagi Sugeno method to fuzzy logic indirect vector control of IM as a solution that can reduce changes in the dynamic performance of motor as PSR drivers during bad weather. The contribution of this research is the application of the Takagi Sugeno method in a fuzzy inference system (FIS), where this fuzzy logic control system replaces the conventional proportional integral (PI) controller for indirect vector control IM. Takagi Sugeno method is computationally efficient and works well with optimization and adaptive techniques, which makes it very attractive in control problems, particularly for dynamic nonlinear systems. Takagi Sugeno type FIS uses weighted average to compute the crisp output, so the Sugeno’s output membership functions are either linear or constant. Furthermore, Takagi Sugeno method has better processing time since the weighted average replace the time consuming defuzzification process. The results obtained after simulation in MATLAB Simulink environment showed that fuzzy logic using the Takagi Sugeno method which is used as a substitute controller for indirect vector control can provide better performance when compared to conventional PI controllers. These results can be seen from the response values of rotor rotation speed, electromagnetic torque, and stator current. Overall, this research provides discourse on improving the dynamic performance of IM through the application of the Takagi Sugeno fuzzy logic indirect vector control method.

Abstract

Teknologi radar pada bandar udara mulai tergantikan oleh sistem Automatic Dependent Survaillance Broadcast (ADS-B) karena ketidakmampuan radar dalam mendeteksi pesawat yang tertutup awan tebal, untuk menggantikan fungsi radar di beberapa bandar udara masih menggunakan situs Flightradar24 sebagai sumber informasi karena untuk membangun sebuah stasiun ADS-B membutuhkan biaya yang mahal. Akan tetapi Flightradar24 memiliki beberapa kelemahan, diantaranya adalah pengguna diharuskan untuk membayar atau berlangganan secara berkala jika ingin menampilkan informasi lebih detail, dan delay karena pemrosesan data yang membutuhkan akses koneksi internet. Receiver ADS-B bekerja dengan menunggu dan menerima transmisi dari pesawat terbang yang berisi informasi posisi pesawat secara berkala, dalam merancang receiver ADS-B ini peneliti menggunakan jenis RTL-SDR R820T2 Flight Aware dengan nilai gain sebesar 19 dB, dan penambahan antena ADS-B 1090 MHz. Hasil pengujian rancangan receiver ADS-B yaitu, receiver mampu menerima sinyal dan data parameter target ADS-B dengan jarak jangkauan sejauh 353 km pada range software adsbSCOPE dan 346,89 km secara perhitungan menggunakan metode harvesine formula.
