Abstract

Abstract—Background:The ability of reproductive disorders in men and experimental male rat is characterized among other things by a decrease in androgen such as testosterone levels. Materials of pasak bumi root (Eurycoma longifolia Jack) increased libido behavior of experimental male rat. Libido associated with higher levels of testosterone, it is therefore necessary to evaluate the effect of pasak bumi on androgen levels such as testosterone. Methods: Male rats at 9.00 am treated controls and pasak bumi, then at 14.00 pm tempted with estrus female rats 10 minutes. Then, both control and pasak bumi blood  samples were collected from male rat heart on day 1st  and day 3rd  at 14.15 pm. Measurement of testosterone levels were calculated using radioimmunoassay (RIA). Results: An increase in serum  testosterone levels in the blood on day-3rd  administration pasak bumi boiled water 18 mg/200 g dose  significantly different than the  control within day 1st to 3rd. The average levels of testosterone administration control (boiled water of aquades) day 1st = 0.50 ng/ml, day 3rd = 2.46 ng / ml, increased markedly on pasak bumi treatment day 1st = 4.00 ng / ml and day 3 = 9.73 ng / ml, (Duncan test, α=0.05). Conclusions: Testosterone levels can be increased markedly after the consumption of the pasak bumi boiled water for 3 days.Keywords—Pasak bumi, a dose of  18 mg/200 g, testosterone.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: mengkaji kondisi manajemen usaha bagan, menganalisis penerimaan usaha dan pendapatan nelayan pemilik, menganalisis kelayakan usaha bagan, menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi usaha bagan, dan merumuskan strategi pengembangan usaha bagan di Desa Sathean, Kecamatan Kei Kecil.  Metode yang digunakan terdiri atas survey descriptive (deskriptif survei)dansurvey explanatory (eksplanasi survei). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa, manajeman usaha penangkapan ikan dengan alat tangkap bagan yang telah berjalan dengan baik adalah manajemen produksi dan manajemen pemasaran, sedangkan manajemen permodalan masih sulit untuk dijalankan. Pendapatan nelayan pemilik usaha bagan di Desa Sathean, Kecamatan Kei Kecil dengan rata-rata 264 trip adalah Rp 282.120.000,- hingga Rp 815.996.000,- atau rata-rata Rp 355.458.000,- tiap unit usaha. Usaha penangkapan ikan dengan alat tangkap bagan di DesaSathean layak untuk diusahakan. Faktor-Faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi usaha bagan adalah frekuensi melaut, biaya operasional, waktu/lama melaut, dan umur. Strategi pengembangan usaha penangkapan ikan dengan alat tangkap bagan di desa Sathean Kecamatan Kei Kecil Kebupaten Maluku tenggara, meliputi: 1). Pengembangan usaha bagan kepada lembaga pemberi kredit untuk menambah modal usaha; 2). Program kebijakan yang diarahkan pada pengembangan teknologi dan jumlah alat tangkap bagan; 3). Pelaksanaan penelitian yang diarahkan pada peningkatan hasil tangkapan usaha, pengelolaan permodalan, ketidak efisiensi penggunaan biaya opersional dan waktu melaut serta pengembangan pemasaran hasil tangkapan bagan; dan 4) Peningkatan fungsi manajemen produksi, yakni mengefisiensikan penggunaan biaya operasional dan waktu melaut, dan manajemen pemasaran.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the strategy of the Mentawai Islands Regency One Stop Investment and Integrated Services Service to increase public awareness in dealing with Building Permits (IMB). This research is qualitative by conducting interviews with informants totaling 19 people from local government agencies and 15 people from the community to find out the PEMDA's strategy in increasing public awareness of managing IMB. The results of the study show that the community thinks they are building in their yard, why do they have to take care of a permit, then the building has no impact on the surrounding environment. Knowledge of building permits was obtained from the government, which had placed banners and billboards along the corridors. However, they do not want to take care of the IMB because it is not urgent and legalized and there are no applicable sanctions. The strategy to increase public awareness in managing the IMB is to conduct a lot of outreach and to place service assistant offices in the sub-districts. The next strategy is to improve the quality of IMB granting services by periodically training officers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The study aimed to find out the effect of Eurycoma longifolia Jack on testosterone level and spermatozoa quality of Etawa crossbreed goat. Goats were divided into two treatment groups, three goats each. Group 1 (K1) was control group which given orally 20 ml of distilled water every morning at 9:00 am for six days, and group 2 (K2) was administered with Eurycoma longifolia with the dose of 90 mg/kg bw in 20 ml of distilled water orally every morning at 9:00 am for six days. The concentration of testosterone was measured on day 1, 3, and 6 using the method of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The quality of sperm consisted of concentration and percentage of life sperm. The results showed that level of testosterone on K2 increased started from day 1 (9.36 ng/ml) to day 6 (12.43 ng/ml) (P0.05). The percentage of life spermatozoa increased higher on K2 compare to K1 on day 3 to day 6, that was 88.6 and 89.8% on K1 to 91.0 and 92.7% on K2. In conclusion, the administration of pasak bumi with the dose of 90 mg/kg bw in 20 ml of distilled water for 6 days able to increase testosterone levels and percentage of life sperm of Etawa crossbreed goat.

Abstract

Striped Snakehead (Channa striata) is one of the fish species inhabiting the flooded floodplain. Currently, the striped snakehead fish population in the Lubuk Lampam floodplain is undergoing a significant decline due to continuous and unregulated fishing activities. To prevent this population decline, there is a need for comprehensive efforts in managing their reproduction. The objective of this study was to investigate the reproductive behavior of striped snakehead fish in the floodplain of Lubuk Lampam, South Sumatra. The research spanned five months, from December 2022 to April 2023, and involved the collection of fish samples from four different floodplain types: river, lebung, lebak kumpei, and rawang. A total of 284 striped snakehead fish were examined, and measurements of length- weight and their reproductive biology were observed. The findings revealed that the sex ratio of striped snakehead fish was skewed toward females, with a ratio of 1:1.7 (females to males). The size at which female striped snakehead fish reach maturity was determined to be 28.5 cm, while male striped snakehead fish matured at 29.30 cm. The peak spawning season for striped snakehead fish occurred in December, coinciding with the rainy season. The spawning grounds for striped snakehead fish were predominantly located in the lebung station in the upper reaches of the Lubuk Lampam Floodplain. Striped Snakehead fish exhibited a partial spawning behavior. Furthermore, these fish demonstrated a relatively high reproductive potential, with fecundity ranging from 5,859 to 30,321 eggs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of local wisdom-based leadership on employee professionalism within the Personnel and Human Resource Development Agency of the Mentawai Islands Regency. Leadership rooted in local cultural values plays a significant role in shaping the behavior, work ethic, and professional performance of employees in regional government institutions. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving key informants, including agency leaders, staff, and community representatives. The findings reveal that leadership practices guided by local cultural wisdom—such as integrity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility—have a positive impact on enhancing employee professionalism. These values foster discipline, accountability, and a sense of belonging among civil servants, leading to improved work quality and public service delivery. Furthermore, the study highlights that leaders who internalize and apply local cultural values effectively bridge hierarchical gaps, strengthen organizational cohesion, and encourage ethical conduct aligned with community norms. However, challenges remain in maintaining consistency in applying these values amid generational and institutional changes. The study concludes that integrating local wisdom into leadership strategies is essential for building sustainable professionalism and organizational resilience in regional governance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengurangan kadar protein pakan pada teknologi bioflok terhadap performa produksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari–April 2024 di hatchery Instalasi Praktik Lapang Komunikasi dan Penyuluhan Politeknik Ahli Usaha Perikanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental, dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan, X0(NB) protein 31% kontrol, X1(B) protein 31%, X2(B) protein 28% dan X3(B) protein 25%. Variabel yang diamati yaitu performa produksi lele dumbo serta pengaruh penurunan kandungan kadar protein pakan dalam teknologi bioflok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan oksigen terlarut, pH, suhu, nitrit dan TSS tidak berbeda nyata dan relatif sama dan masih dalam rentang layak untuk pertumbuhan ikan lele, sedangkan TAN berbeda nyata antar perlakuan (P<0,05), tetapi masih dalam rentan yang layak. Identifikasi konsumsi flok menunjukkan jenis plankton yang terdapat pada usus ikan lele sama dengan media pemeliharaan pada kolam bioflok hal ini membuktikan bahwa bioflok dikonsumsi oleh ikan lele. Performa produksi menunjukkan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dari semua perlakuan. Pertumbuhan spesifik, pertumbuhan mutlak, berat akhir, biomas, kelulushidupan dan rasio konversi pakan nilai tertinggi pada kolam X1(B) protein 31% sedangkan X2(B) protein 28% tidak berbeda nyata dengan X0(NB) protein 31% kontrol dan X1(B) protein 31%. Performa produksi kolam X2(B) protein 28% tidak berbeda nyata dengan kolam X0(NB) protein 31% kontrol, dapat diaplikasikan pada budidaya ikan lele dumbo dengan efisiensi biaya produksi 18,03%.

Abstract

Pasak bumi is popular as an aphrodisiac. Traditionally, pasak bumi infusion is used to increase libido and duration of erection. The research was focused on: Activity level of FSH cells after three days of pasak bumi treatment. The research was carried out by evaluation using immunohistochemistry method via antibody anti FSH staining. The result of the research showed that a dosage of 18 mg/200 g body weight (bw) orally of pasak bumi maintained certain endoceine positive cells e.g. FSH production cells and were found stabile in the third days. Pasak bumi serves a stabilizer for intracellular levels of FSH in the anterior hipophysis/pituatary.

Abstract

Abstrak Sistem pertanian terpadu ayam-ikan merupakan model agroekologis yang menggabungkan pemeliharaan ayam petelur dan budidaya ikan lele dalam satu siklus produksi. Sistem ini mampu menurunkan biaya pakan hingga 30–40% melalui pemanfaatan kotoran ayam sebagai sumber nutrien bagi ikan. Meskipun memberikan manfaat ekonomi, sistem ini memiliki potensi risiko lingkungan yang signifikan apabila air kolam tidak dikelola dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi potensi pencemaran dari buangan air kolam lele dalam sistem terpadu di Kabupaten Blitar dengan menganalisis parameter kualitas air, meliputi pH, suhu, oksigen terlarut (DO), total padatan terlarut (TDS), total padatan tersuspensi (TSS), kebutuhan oksigen biologis (BOD), kebutuhan oksigen kimiawi (COD), amonia, nitrat, nitrogen total (TN), fosfat total (TP), dan fecal coliform. Studi dilakukan di tiga lokasi, masing-masing terdiri atas dua kolam terpadu, satu kolam kontrol, dan satu sumber air baku. Kolam terpadu menunjukkan kadar BOD, COD, dan fecal coliform tertinggi, yang mengindikasikan kontaminasi organik dan mikrobiologis yang signifikan. Uji-t independen menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p<0,05) antara kolam terpadu dan kolam kontrol, sedangkan kolam kontrol tidak berbeda signifikan dengan air baku. Berdasarkan Indeks Pencemar (IP) yang dihitung mengacu pada Kepmen LH No. 115/2003, seluruh kolam terpadu diklasifikasikan dalam kategori tercemar berat (IP>10), dengan beberapa nilai melebihi 2200. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi baru melalui penerapan analisis kuantitatif dan klasifikasi indeks pencemaran pada model budidaya yang masih jarang diteliti, serta menegaskan pentingnya penerapan strategi pengolahan air limbah untuk menjaga keberlanjutan lingkungan dalam praktik akuakultur terpadu.   Abstract The integrated chicken-fish farming system is an agroecological model that combines layer chicken rearing and catfish aquaculture within a single production cycle. This system reduces feed costs by up to 30–40% through the utilization of chicken manure as a nutrient source for fish. Despite its economic benefits, the system poses a significant environmental risk if pond water is not managed correctly. This study aimed to evaluate the pollution potential of catfish pond effluents within integrated systems in Blitar Regency by analyzing key water quality parameters, including pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), total dissolved solids (TDS), total suspended solids (TSS), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammonia, nitrate, total nitrogen (TN), total phosphate (TP), and fecal coliform. The study was conducted at three sites, each comprising two integrated ponds, one control pond, and one raw water source. The integrated ponds exhibited the highest BOD, COD, and fecal coliform levels, indicating substantial organic and microbial contamination. Independent t-tests revealed significant differences (p<0.05) between integrated and control ponds, while control ponds showed no significant difference from raw water. Based on the Pollution Index (PI) calculated using the Decree of Minister of Environment of The Republic of Indonesia Number 115 of 2003, all integrated ponds were classified as heavily polluted (PI>10), with some values exceeding 2200. This study provides a novel contribution by applying quantitative pollution indexing to a rarely assessed farming model, offering empirical evidence that supports the urgent need for wastewater treatment strategies to ensure the environmental sustainability of integrated aquaculture practices.
