Abstract

Nowadays, crowdfunding is an alternative way to find funds to develop a product or service. It is no exception for game creators who want to get funds to develop the games they will create. This study is unique and was made based on a case study of Xagia Wars, a visual game created by a game creator in Jakarta called Vifth Floor. This study analyzes the motivations to increase a funder's willingness to fund a visual game project. This study used observation and netnography to get data and regression analysis to measure the motivation to fund the visual game project. The results showed that the factors that influence the funders' willingness to fund are the level of innovation of the project, reward, involvement, and support for the project. Several things need to be considered for project creators to increase the rate of successful crowdfunding. Such as the value of the reward, whether it makes people interested, a visual game must-have innovation, and invite the funders to participate in the game creation process so that funders can provide support for what is needed is not only in the form of funds. Abstract

Micro, small, and medium-sized firms (MSMEs) are required to be highly competitive so that they may thrive in unpredictable markets and contribute to economic growth despite several challenges such as financing, market access, innovation, and productivity. Through the Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) program at Parahyangan Catholic University, Batch 6, the writing team provided training (workshops) and mentoring (coaching) to MSMEs in Bandung Regency. The major goal of the SCORE program is to help SMEs in Bandung Regency enhance their competitiveness so that they may use their own resources to achieve productivity and expand their competitive edge. The workshop program is implemented with topics such as teamwork and communication, increasing business productivity, financial records, determining the cost of goods sold (HPP), the use of promotional media, and increasing marketing understanding, while personal assistance is provided through visits to MSME production sites at least three times during the program. At the end of the program, there was a rise in MSMEs' development, indicating that 100% of MSMEs had participated in the provision and execution of information boards, HPP calculations, product innovation, and optimization of social media as a promotional medium. This success can help SMEs grow their capabilities, particularly in tackling some of the issues they confront, such as marketing, productivity, accounting, and budgetary restraints. With the settlement of these issues, the next step in strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs, aided by SCORE UNPAR in Bandung Regency, may be taken.

Abstract

The number of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in West Java is constantly increasing during 2016-2021 period. Many of them are new ventures which are in the process of introducing their products or services to the market; or are developing their customer base. Previous researches find that new venture viability is determined by owner-manager’s Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy (ESE). This research aims to analyse three factors that are thought to influence ESE, namely: formal education of entrepreneurship (PFK), family support (DK), and entrepreneurial personality (EP). Furthermore, the effect of ESE to new venture viability will be tested. The samples used in this research are graduate of Bachelor of Management program, X Private University in Bandung Municipality who have undertaken Entrepreneurship courses and owned and managed his or her own business. Data is collected through close-ended questionnaires and is processed using SEM-PLS. Thereafter, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted to validate the statistical results. The research finds that: (1) EP significantly and positively affects ESE, and (2) ESE significantly and positively affects new venture viability. Keywords: entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE); entrepreneurial personality; new venture viability.

Abstract

The Indonesian luxury goods market has grown significantly over the past decade due to rising disposable incomes, urbanization, and a growing middle class. Understanding the drivers of luxury brands’ purchase intention is essential, especially in Generation Z. This study examines the influence of hedonic, social, and financial value on purchase intention through attitudes toward luxury brands among Generation Z in Indonesia. This study employs PLS-SEM to analyze data collected from 103 Generation Z respondents across Indonesia through an online survey. The results of this study indicate that financial value and hedonic value have a positive and significant influence on customer attitudes toward luxury brands, whereas social value does not have a significant influence on these attitudes. This finding indicates that consumers may prioritize intrinsic qualities of luxury items, such as quality and personal aesthetic appeal, over the social status associated with these goods. Additionally, customer attitude towards luxury brands has a positive and significant influence on purchase intention. The results of this study suggest that luxury brands in Indonesia can increase the purchase intention of Generation Z by fostering a positive attitude towards luxury brands, which offer both financial and hedonic value.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between formal education and age and the level of financial literacy among school teachers, especially in Bandung City. This study also aimed to investigate the effect of financial literacy to financial management. The study was done at JKN Senior High School (SHS) in Bandung City, with the JKN teachers as the sample. JKN SHS was chosen for several reasons, such as its alignment with the phenomenon, and the teachers in JKN SHS have diverse formal educational backgrounds and age ranges. The hypothesis testing result showed that formal education positively affects financial literacy. However, age was not shown to influence financial literacy. Thus, financial literacy positively impacts personal financial management. This outcome established an evidence-supported link to the socio-economic issue, namely the increase in urban poverty in Indonesia. In Bandung, teachers facing the demands of a consumer-driven urban life on limited income find that high financial literacy is not just advantageous but essential for developing financial resilience and preventing poverty. The observation empirically validates the claim that strong financial literacy can safeguard individuals against a decrease in their quality of life and enhance their readiness for economic emergencies and crises.
