Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the implementation of face-to-face learning in schools (offline) to online. These changes make children unable to learn optimally due to various obstacles. This condition also affects the development and psychology of children. Data shows that the number of violence against children since the Covid-19 pandemic has tended to increase. On the other hand, children have the right to get protection and to grow properly in the context of education. The purpose of this study was to determine legal protection for children by analyzing legal provisions in Indonesia in protecting children's rights in online learning systems. The research method used is juridical normative with data sources obtained from primary, secondary, and tertiary sources. The data that has been collected is then presented in a structured and logical manner and analyzed descriptively. The results of the study found that legal protection instruments for children's rights in online learning systems already exist but their implementation has not been optimal. Socialization to prioritize children's growth and development rights in providing children's education rights during the Covid-19 pandemic must be more actively voiced to all Education Offices, heads of education units, educators, students, and parents of students.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the communication and learning processes by utilizing digital communication. The challenge of adopting digital communication is inevitable when supporting learning shifts from offline to online systems. However, it is necessary to consider the effectiveness factor in order to facilitate adoption. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is a theoretical framework that describes how a technology can be accepted, adopted, and used by society. Two factors influence people's acceptance of technology: perceived ease of use and perceived of usefulness. In the context of learning using digital communication technology, Google Classroom is a learning technology that is considered easy because there are tutorials available that can guide users and make it easy to access. Its advantage is that it facilitates interaction and learning experiences such as the ability to upload various materials and provide direct feedback. In short, the application of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theory to the adoption of digital communication technology in courageous learning during the Covid-19 pandemic can provide understanding and knowledge about aspects that contribute to the adoption and use of technology during times of crisis.

Abstract

Community-Based Social Welfare (WKSBM) serves as a mechanism to address social issues at the grassroots level through active community participation. This initiative aims to foster a sense of responsibility, enabling individuals and communities to identify and develop their potential and creativity. Communication is essential in the empowerment process, as communication activities may not always proceed smoothly or yield the desired outcomes. This study seeks to examine the participatory empowerment communication strategy within the Community-Based Social Welfare Program (WKSBM) in Magelang City. The research employed a case study methodology, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. Research participants included representatives from social services, social workers, community-based social welfare forums (WKSBM), sub-districts, and the community. The research data were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study's findings indicate that the participatory empowerment communication strategy encompasses several communication elements: 1) multiple actors in WKSBM empowerment, including the Magelang City Social Service, Magelang City Social Workers, Villages, and WKSBM Administrators; 2) messages conveyed both verbally and non-verbally, with language style and usage tailored to the audience; 3) media utilized, such as face-to-face interactions or WhatsApp; 4) the audience, comprising the general public starting from the neighbourhood level (RT/RW); and 5) the effect, evidenced by funds collected during the Covid-19 pandemic for vulnerable communities.
