There are several changes of the library users’ orientation and expectation of what kind of information the need and want, and in what form. Also, they tend to rely on the internet to find up-to-date information, whereas it is difficult to provide by printed based material mostly provided by the libraries. And there is digital natives, a new generation of the library users, a generation that born with electronic devices in their hands. They may come the library not to look for books, but for free wi-fi.For user satisfaction, libraries should focus on the users’ need, or user orientation. In the realization of the information orientation changing of the library users, the libraries should also change its policy, especially about library services, and collection development. Libraries not only about books, but also about information in any kind of forms and by any kind of meaning and technology. The users need technology based services and information, so that libraries should provide. Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) plays an important role in classifying the world in information richand information poor. Poverty is not only limited information by "people who mastered the technology" and "people who do not master the technology". More complex phenomenon, including language and cultural diversity issues, level of education and the ability to access information and take advantage of that information. There are several factors that cause information poverty. Among othersare access to information , socio-economic factors and the factor of information infrastructure and information context of each individua . To overcome the problem, the solutionsare the presence of informationequality, and information literacy skills. Information literacy is a set of skills to know when an information is needed, and where the information located, evaluation and the use of the information effectively. Good library can play its role in nformation equality and sharing, by providing various forms of means of information and all of them can be freely and widely used by those who need it.

Abstract

On-the-job training is needed in various scenarios and takes on a number of different guises. Each institution has its own unique, evolving needs that will are ongoing staff training. New employees, even when they are experienced lagers, undoubtedly will need to learn about local cataloging rules, work flow and possibly the library management system. A new job might also involve cataloging new types of material. On-the-job training is particularly vital for library school graduates as they face additional issues concerning practical application of their cataloging education. Every library staf needing cataloging training will be a professional librarian, and it is also required for paraprofessionals who perform cataloging tasks. Determining the objectives of the training should always be the first step, and these objectives will inform the whole planning process. While some training ideas are as important now as they were 20 years ago, the twenty-first-century library brings new challenges. For instance, the changes in library school curricula mean that traditional assumptions about a new graduates cataloging skills must be discarded. However, twenty-first-century cataloging training is not just situated in the present and future; to fully understand present-day cataloging and cataloging rules, trainees need to understand past practices of retrieval and to reimagine its card catalog roots. Therefore, twenty-first-century libraries need an army of Janus-like catalogers where each one trains their recruits to look to the past, present, and future.

Abstract

Ini menunjukkan bahwa interaksi dosen yang lebih sering dengan mahasiswa akan membantu siswa untuk mengatasi masalah dalam belajar, serta meningkatkan motivasi siswa.ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine whether there is a contribution of academic guidance for the learning achievement of students and how much it contributes. This study uses a quantitative correlational research method, with populations and samples were active students. The study examined that there was a contribution of academic guidance for the student achievement. The results obtained that the Lecturer Interaction variable (X) has a significant effect on the variable Student Learning Achievement (Y), and has a relationship that is directly proportional. This is shown in the value of t count (Pearson Correlation) of 0.665 greater than r tabel, or r count > r tabel = 0.665 > 0.1982. Furthermore, it indicated that the contribution of academic guidance was quite significant. The results of the determination test obtained that the R2 value is 0.442 which means that the Lecturer Interaction variable (X) has an influence on the Student Learning Achievement variable (Y) of 44.2%. While the remaining 55.8% is influenced by other factors. Based on the results of the overall regression test analysis on variable X, it shows that the first hypothesis is that there is an influence of Lecturer Interaction on Student Learning Achievement, proven correct. That is, at each increase in the value of Lecturer Interaction, it will increase the value of Student Learning Achievement. This shows that the more frequent lecturer interaction with students will help students to overcome problems in learning, as well as increase student motivation.

Abstract

The field of information is undergoing a very rapid transformation with the use of information technology in every community activity. The use of information technology that is increasingly friendly in the community has facilitated work management to be more effective and efficient so as to accelerate performance. However, the diverse geographical conditions of society have led to a digital divide in technology accessibility in Indonesian society, while the rapid development of technology demands equal distribution of capabilities and mastery of technology throughout the wider community. As an institution that is an information center, the role of libraries is very important in encouraging people to use information technology through digital inclusion. Libraries can carry out the role of digital inclusion through the provision of technology tools, freedom of access by the community. This study examines the role of libraries in digital inclusion with students as part of a community group. The research was carried out with a quantitative approach through the distribution of questionnaires, to determine student responses regarding the availability of information technology devices provided by the library, their accessibility and ability to utilize these facilities. The results of this study found that the information technology facilities provided by the library and the ease of access have helped students to get information sources easily and quickly. The provision of adequate information technology facilities and easy access to libraries has played a role in helping students to become more familiar with digital devices, so that they can adapt quickly to any existing technological developments.
