Abstract

This study aims to analyze capacity planning at Dolces Bites, a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) in the culinary sector, in order to improve operational performance and anticipate fluctuations in consumer demand. The main challenge faced by the company is demand variability and limited production resources, which may create bottlenecks in specific processes. The research employs a quantitative approach by calculating design capacity, effective capacity, utilization, efficiency, and bottleneck identification based on production data from December 2024 to May 2025. The findings reveal that Dolces Bites experienced relatively low utilization rates at the beginning of the observed period, ranging from 29% to 50%, but showed a significant increase in April and May 2025, reaching 83.33%. Production efficiency remained relatively stable between 70% and 91%, indicating the company’s ability to achieve operational targets despite underutilized capacity. Bottleneck analysis shows that the packaging process carries the highest workload (60%), making it the primary constraint within the production chain. Based on these results, the recommended capacity planning strategy is the match strategy, which adjusts capacity gradually in line with demand trends. This approach is considered the most suitable for SMEs, as it ensures flexibility, minimizes the risk of overcapacity, and supports sustainable business growth.

Abstract

This study examines Indonesia’s economic trajectory over 10 years as an emerging market, exploring the opportunities and challenges shaping its transition from a developing economy. The study investigates key aspects of economic growth, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and structural barriers to accelerated progress. A comprehensive literature review provides a foundation for understanding Indonesia’s economic landscape, covering market classification, national income trends, and growth dynamics. Using a qualitative method approach, the study combines secondary data analysis as economic indicators with qualitative insights from case studies. These include Indonesia’s economic evolution, FDI assessment in MINT (Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Turkey) economy, the 2016 investor crisis, and Tesla’s 2022 investment plans. The evaluation of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in MINT countries represents the extent of international investors’ expectations and confidence in the medium- to long-term economic prospects of each nation, while also serving as an indicator of macroeconomic stability and the quality of the investment climate offered. The findings offer a nuanced understanding of Indonesia’s economic journey, providing valuable insights for policymakers, investors, and academics navigating the complexities of emerging markets.

Abstract

Amid increasingly fierce business competition, MSMEs face the challenge of remaining competitive. To address this challenge, strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness, especially in production, are crucial. This study was conducted to evaluate the productivity index and sales of bead bracelets in Bertaaut, with a focus on increasing production. The method used was the Objective Matrix (OMAX), which consists of several steps such as Defining, Quantifying (with assessments at levels 0, 3, and 10), and Monitoring (through Score, Weight, and Performance Indicator). The results of the study show that productivity peaked in August 2025 with an index of 248.10%, while the lowest point occurred in April 2025 with an index of 57.50%. The increase in the productivity index is closely related to production efficiency, such as the role of operators, the use of labor, raw materials, and electricity. Cause-and-effect analysis shows that uncertain stock storage periods have a major impact on production results. In addition to reducing production volume, problems with stock storage can also disrupt normal working hours, thereby reducing overall production effectiveness.
