Abstract

The study was to describe the implementation of the entrepreneurial character education through the school culture in the vocational high schools (VHSs).The method that the researcher made use in the study was the qualitative one. The study was conducted in the 2 Depok Public Vocational High School and the 2 Pengasih Public Vocational High School. The data source in the study was the school members, the documents, and the school cultures. The data was collected by means of observation, interview, and documentation. For the instruments, the researcher made use of the human instrument and the interview guideline. The data was analyzed by using the open coding, the axial coding and the selective coding. The findings in the research were as folows: the entrepreneurial character education by means of the school culture implementation in the VHSs had been included in the entrepreneurship culture through: (1 ) the five artifacts in the verbal/conceptual dimension that might generate 17 dominant entrepreneurial characters; (2) the five artifacts in the action/behavioral dimension that might generate 8 dominant entrepreneurial characters; and (3) the four artifacts in the physical/material dimension that might generate seven dominant entrepreneurial characters.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan konsep strategi kepemimpinan pembelajaran. Perbedaan pembelajaran di SMK dengan SMA membawa konsekuensi strategi kepemimpinan pembelajaran yang berbeda pula. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis grounded theory. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti sendiri. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipasi, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, dan anggota komite sekolahsecara snowball. Orang kunci dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah. Objek penelitian adalah pelaku, konsep, tempat, dan kegiatan. Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan kriteria kredibilitas, transferabilitas, dependabilitas, dan komfirmabilitas. Langkah-langkah dan analisis data yang digunakan adalah model Lichman (2011). Penelitian menemukan bahwa strategi kepemimpinan pembelajaran adalah: keteladanan, pembelajaran di kelas dan luar kelas, kultur sekolah, dan penguatan.Kata Kunci: strategi, kepemimpinan pembelajaran, implementasi kurikulum 2013THE STRATEGY OF INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP TOWARD THE IMPEMENTATION OF CURRICULUM 2013Abstract: Theresearch was aim to find the strategy concept of instructional leadership. Different between VHS and HS learning bring coonsequency different of strategy of instructional too. The research used was qualitative with grounded theory type. Research instrument is the researchers ourself. Data collecting technique were used deep-interview, participation observation, and documentation. Reseach subjects areprincipal, vice principals, and school committee members with snowball. Key informan is principal. Research objects are: persons, concept, place, and activities. Verification of data was done by credibility, transferability, dependability, and comfirmability criteria. Stage and data analysis were used the Lichman model (2011). The research findings that the strategy of instructional leaderships are modeling, learning in and out classroom, school culture, and strengthening.Keywords: strategy, instructional leadership, implementation of curriculum 2013

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan model kepemimpinan instruksional kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis multikasus. Instrumen penelitan adalah peneliti sendiri. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipasi, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, dan guru secara snowball. Informan kunci dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah. Objek penelitian adalah pelaku, konsep, tempat, dan kegiatan. Langkah-langkah dan analisis data menggunakan model Creswell (2014). Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan kriteria kredibilitas, transferabilitas, dependabilitas, dan konfirmabilitas. Pada penelitian ditemukan model kepemimpinan instruksional kepala sekolah dengan siklus: pemahaman definisi kepemimpinan instruksional; tujuan dan manfaat kepemimpinan instruksional; indikator kepemimpinan instruksional yang efektif; strategi kepemimpinan instruksional; carapraktis melaksanakan kepemimpinan instruksional. Kata Kunci: kepemimpinan, instruksional, kepala sekolah THE SCHOOL PRINCIPALS’ INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP MODEL Abstract: This study was aimed to find a school principals’ instructional leadership model. This study used the multicase qualitative approach. The instrument was the researcher himself. The data were collected using the in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The subjects were the school principals, vice principals, and teachers taken using the snowball sampling technique. The key informants were the school principals. The object of the study was the persons, concept, places, and activities. The stages and the data analysis used Creswell’s (2014) model. The data validation was carried out using the credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability criteria. The findings showed that the school principals’ instructional model followed the following cycle: an understanding of the definition of instructional leadership, the objectives and benefits of instructional leadership, indicators of effective instructional leadership, and practical ways of implementing the instructional leadership. Abstract

Abstrak: Model Diklat Kewirausahaan bagi Remaja Putus Sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan: (1) model diklat kewirausahaan bagi Remaja Putus Sekolah (RPS) di Propinsi DIY, (2) modul-modul diklat kewirausahaan berdasarkan hasil uji coba, dan (3) hasil pelaksanaan diklat kewirausahaan. Pendekatan kualitatif-interaktif dan penelitianpengembangan digunakan pada penelitian ini. RPS dipilih secara kuota dan purposif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pejabat pemerintah dan 30 RPS. Data dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menemukan: (1) model pendidikan kewirausahaan meliputi sistem, struktur program diklat, komposisi antara teori dengan praktik, modul diklat, kriteria peserta, pelatih, metode, dan evaluasi diklat, (2) modul-modul ternyata layak digunakan untuk pendidikan kewirausahaan guna mengurangi kemiskinan dan pengangguran, dan (3) diklat kewirausaahaan terlaksana dengan sukses. Kata Kunci: model pendidikan, kewirausahaan, kemiskinan, pengangguran Abstract: A Model of the Entrepreneurship Training for Drop-out Teenagers. This study was aimed to reveal: (1) a model of an entrepreneurship training for drop-out teenagers in Yogyakarta province; (2) modules of the entrepreneurship training based on the results of the try-out; and (3) the results of the training implementation. The qualitative-interactive and research and development approach was used in this study. Thirty drop-out teenagers and government excutiveswere selected purposively for in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed using the descriptive and qualitative technique. The findings indicated that: (1) a model of an entrepreneurship training included the system, program structure, integration between theories and practices, modules, participant criteria, trainers, methods, and evaluation; (2) the modules were appropriate to be used in the training; and (3) the training was implemented successfully. Abstract

Character education for students is important for their future because personal character traits determine the quality of human life. This qualitative study aims to analyze the planning and implementation of character education at Taruna Nusantara Senior High School (SHS), Magelang - a boarding senior high school that combines teaching-loving-caring (asah-asih-asuh) and semi-military education. The unit of analysis consists of individuals and group of subjects directly or indirectly involved in the education process at the researched school and the surrounding, as well as the artifacts. The data are collected through interview, observation, and documentation, and  are subsequently analyzed using Huberman and Saldana’s interactive model. The results indicate that, in the planning, the school put more emphasis on three characteristics in character education that characterizes the school:  religiosity, morality and leadership. The planning of character education is participatory and integrated. It is implemented in and around the boarding school learning environment. The activities include teaching, training, parenting, and student development.

Abstract

Abstrak: Indonesia sangat kaya dengan budaya. Salah satu budaya Indonesia adalah cenderung patnernalistik. Yunior menghormati senior atau orang yang dituakan. Pemimpin sebagai senior disegani bawahan. Pemimpin menjadi teladan bagi bawahan karena itu ia harus mampu memberi keteladanan untuk dicontoh bawahannya. Kepemimpinan yang berkarakter memiliki empat sifat utama: memiliki sifat jujur, memandang jauh ke depan, membei inspirasi, dan cakap. Kombinasi keempat sifat tersebut membentuk kredibitas. Pemimpin yang kredibel dapat dipercaya. Esensi kepemimpinan adalah kepercayaan. Cara melakukan kepemimpinan berkarakter adalah dengan melakukan keteladanan secara nyata kepada bawahan sehingga mereka terpengaruh untuk melakukannya. Setelah bawahan melakukannya berarti kepemimpinan berkarakter berfungsi sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter bagi bawahannya. Kata Kunci: kepemimpinan berkarakter, keteladanan pemimpin, kredibilitas, pendidikan karakter LEADERSHIP WITH CHARACTER AS A MODEL FOR CHARACTER EDUCATION Abstract: Indonesia is rich with culture. One of the Indonesia cultures is a paternalistic tendency. The young respect the old or those considered seniors. Leaders as seniors are respected by the subordinates. Leaders are examples for the subordinates; therefore, they must be able to become models for their subordinates. Leadership with character has four main traits: honest, futuristic, inspirational, and capable. The combination of these four traits build the credibility. A credible leader can be trusted. The essence of leadership is trust. Implementing the leadership with character is by providing real examples for the subordinates so that they are inspired to model the given examples. When the subordinates have modeled their leader, the leadership with character has functioned as a means of character education for the subordinates. Abstract

The study was to develop a model of partnership management between the vocational high school (VHS) and the employment domain in the curriculum of industrial working practice under the activities of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation in the vocational high schools of Banda Aceh. The study used the research and development method design with several phases that had been developed by Borg Gall. The data type in the study was qualitative and quantitative. For the qualitative data analysis, the researcher used the interactive analysis that had been developed by Milles Huberman. On the other hand, for the quantitative data analysis the researcher used a Likert-scale measure. The research subjects were vocational education practitioners and experts. The data gathering was conducted by means of documentation, observation, interview, and Delphi techniques; all of the methods were implemented until the researcher found the conceptual model. Then, the researcher involved the experts in the model testing by using the Delphi technique resulting in a hypothetical model from the conceptual to be used as the basis for developing the final model. Eventually, the researcher drew the following conclusion: (1) The partnership between the VHS and the employment domain had been pursued by all of the vocational high schools in the City of Banda Aceh but there had not been any clear and integrated model of partnership management; and (2) the researcher generated a model development of partnership management between the VHS and the employment domain in the curriculum of industrial working practice clearly, practically, and effectively.

Abstract

A decision-making process in an organization is more effective if it is supported by reliable and valid information systems. Management Information System (MIS) and Decision Support System (DSS) are two systems commonly used by organizational leaders to collect information for making the Quality of Decision (QD). This study aimed to empirically investigate MIS influences on vocational high school principals’ QD. Besides, this study examined the moderation effect of the DSS on the decision-making processes. This quantitative research employed the survey method and purposive sampling technique. As many as 60 vocational high school principals and vice-principals in Yogyakarta, Indonesia were the participants of this study. They filled in questionnaires consisting of 19 items that were developed using the Likert scale. The quantitative data obtained were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling. The research findings show that MIS has a significant effect on the quality of the decision-making process by vocational high school principals. However, for improving the decision quality, the model must be assisted by DSS as the moderator variable. MIS carries information required for principals while DSS provides data, model, and analysis instruments used for special cases in vocational high schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menegtahui kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah sebagai leader, bentuk dukungan dari followers, dan situasi sekolah yang kondusif bagi kepemimpin-an Kepala Sekolah di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 1 Taliwang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN 1 Taliwang Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat, menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus.Subjek utamanya adalah Kepala Sekolah, satu guru putra, satu guru putri, unsur komite sekolah, satu staf tata usaha sekolah, dan security sekolah. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi.Pengamatan dilakukan secara terus menerus tentang aktivitas yang berlangsung di sekolah.Di dalam observasi ini, juga dilakukan pemotretan terhadap objek-objek yang mendukung kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah. Data yang diperoleh dari Kepala Sekolah, dikroscek kembali terhadap pernyataan para subjek lainnya.Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara berulang-ulang sampai data tersebut jenuh. Data yang dianalisis menggunakan model Interaktif Milles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: 1). Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah sebagai leader yang diwujudkan dengan memberikan keteladanan, motivasi, dan mendukung warga sekolah untuk meningkatkan kompetensinya. 2). Bentuk dukungan dari followers bagi kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah berupa loyalitasnya untuk menjalankan tugas dan arahan yang diberikan oleh Kepala Sekolah. 3). Bentuk dukungan dari situasi sekolah berupa lingkungan yang nyaman dan kondusif untuk mendukung keberhasiln proses pembelajaran.Kata kunci: kepemimpinan, kepala sekolah, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, sekolah dasar

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: karakteristik kepemimpinan efektif  kepala sekolah, karakteristik pengikut, karakteristik situasi, hambatan dan cara mengatasi hambatan. Penelitian  ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. . Tempat penelitian adalah SMP Negeri 1 Banguntapan Bantul.. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) karakteristik pemimpin yaitu: a) visioner, b) memiliki kemampuan berkomunikasi dan c) memiliki kepribadian yang baik; 2) karakteristik pengikut yaitu: a) mengenali karakteristik pimpinannya b) guru dan karyawan tunduk dan patuh,; 3)karakteristik situasi  yaitu: a) adanya kemampuan kepala sekolah dan warga sekolah dalam menghadapi krisis, b) tidak adanya ketergantungan dari para guru; 4) Faktor yang menghambat adalah: a) cara pandang atau cara pikir individu-individu dalam warga sekolah, b) masih ada guru yang sulit diajak kerjasama; 5) cara mengatasi hambatan yaitu membangun dan mengembangkan komunikasi.Kata kunci: kepemimpinan, efektif, kepala sekolah
