Abstract

The need for electricity is one of the important things in the advancement of technology and human civilization in all respects. So it is necessary to regulate the use of electrical energy properly. Thus, it is very important for us to regulate the use of electrical energy in terms of power usage by electrical loads. One way is by saving electrical energy. One way to save electrical energy is an energy audit. The audit report is the result of the audit plan which will be processed and analyzed further in energy management (electrical energy regulation). From the results of the energy audit, energy flows will be known which will provide an overview of energy use, so that a strategic plan can be prepared to control energy use better and of course be more energy and cost efficient. One aspect of an energy audit is an audit of lighting energy (lighting in an area), so it is very important for us to control the use of electrical energy loads, in this research the kit only audits electrical energy, from the lighting energy of the Muara Batu sub-district office, North Aceh, so that the use of electrical energy becomes economical. Efficient use of energy can be a solution that will be very profitable in efforts to increase comfort. When an office is able to carry out energy efficiency, it means that the office has benefited from savings in energy consumption costs in a certain period, then from these results there are funds available that can be converted for other needs such as adding facilities or replacing equipment, which will indirectly increase employee comfort or the office.

Abstract

The utilization of wind energy as one of the renewable energy sources in Indonesia is still limited. This is due to Indonesia's large wind potential, but it is at low speeds. One modification of wind turbines to overcome this problem is by using inverse taper and taper blades. Inverse taper blades have a chord distribution that increases from root to tip while taper blades have a chord distribution that decreases from root to tip. This research conducts the design and construction of inverse taper and taper blades on small-scale wind turbines using NACA 6412 airfoil type, then tested in the field and obtained the performance of each blade. The design was carried out using blade element momentum theory to obtain the blade geometry shape and perform performance analysis of each type of blade. Based on the simulation results obtained from QBlade, it shows that the inverse taper blade performance has a maximum Cp of 0.52 while the taper blade has a maximum Cp of 0.41. The power graph from field testing results shows that inverse taper blades provide good power generation at low wind speeds compared to taper blades. The inverse taper blade has a cut-in speed of 1.2 m/s and the best power production occurs at speeds of 1-4 m/s.

Abstract

This research aims to optimize the performance of the voltage system at the Nagan Raya Steam Power Plant (PLTU) by installing capacitor banks. Capacitor banks are integrated into the system to increase voltage stability, reduce power losses, and increase energy efficiency in PLTUs. The research method involves analyzing the existing voltage system, designing the capacitor bank installation, and evaluating the system performance after installation. It is hoped that the results of this research can make a positive contribution in improving the performance of PLTU Nagan Raya and overall energy efficiency.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hybrid natural-natural fibre reinforced polymer composites become attractive alternative to seek the friendly-environmentally materials. Study on the durability level of the hybrid composites have the importance reason due to the role in application as structural function. This study focuses on examining the fatigue strength of polypropylene polymer composites reinforced with hybrid sugar palm-kenaf fibres. The hybrid composite materials were prepared by mixing the fibres and matrix with several compositions. There are five composition types of specimens that evaluated, such as 70:10:10, 70:15:15, 70:20:10, 80:10:10 and 90:5:5. The hybrid composites were composed by PP, sugar palm fibre and kenaf fibre. Furtheremore the tensile test were conducted to find the value of ultimate tensile strength for every specimens of hybrid composites. The fatigue test also were conducted with four level of stress i.e. 80%, 70%, 60% and 50%. The results show that in the lower level of stress, the hybrid composites with higher content of sugar palm fibre posses the better performance of fatigue life compare to the others

Abstract

Utilization of solar energy as a generator of electrical energy is growing. One of technology for the use of solar energy is to use solar panels to generate electricity. Solar panels can be installed on the roof of the house to meet electricity on a household scale. The current challenge is the lack of trained personnel who have the competence to install solar panels on the roof of the house. So it is considered it is important to educate skilled workers through solar power installation training. For this purpose, training activities for solar electricity installation are carried out for Dayah Mini Banda Aceh students through an independent community service program. This training aims to train workers to gain Panel installation competence Sun on the Roof of the House. Solar Panel Installation Practice Method is done by simulating installation of equipment ranging from solar panels, inverters, charge controllers and charging battery. The results to be achieved with the practice of installing solar panels so that students have Skills in installing rooftop solar panels.

Abstract

Electricity is very useful for human life. However, if an error in use results in a danger to the safety of humans, livestock and property. Sometimes electricity is also used for special purposes for which there are no guidelines, this will be very risky to safety. As in the case that occurred recently in the Pidie Resort Police area, the Head of the Pidie Resort Police assigned his members for the benefit of the police service in the context of the task of carrying out an examination of electrical experts to obtain information regarding the discovery of a body in the mountain river of Gampong Lhok Broh, Meureudu District, District Pidie Jaya. The expected objectives of this activity are; So that participants can understand the benefits of electrical energy and the basic principles, operation, and maintenance of electrical equipment, Provide participants with knowledge (in general) about how to work and maintain electrical equipment that may be designed and used in a community environment, Demonstrate directly the dangers of some related electrical equipment cases currently being handled by the police. This activity was carried out from October 1 to November 30 2019 and consisted of 3 stages namely; Preparation, Execution, and Compilation of Reports. Based on inspections and field trials in two places, the following conclusions can be drawn; Electric current is dangerous for the human body depending on the amount of current and duration. The effect of electric current on humans starts with tingling/numbness to effect the heart which can cause death. Water is a conductor that can carry electric current properly. The safe voltage limit for humans is 50 Volt AC assuming the human body is 1000 Ohm resistant, the safe current limit for humans is 30 mA. The dedicated team also as electrical experts discusses scientific about matters related to electrical hazards and their effects on the human body.
