Abstract

Background: The increasing use of technology in libraries has made chatbots a solution for responding to questions and providing information more quickly and efficiently. However, the use of chatbots has the potential to reduce the personal aspect that has been inherent in conventional interactions between librarians and library users. Purpose: This study examines the application of chatbots in library services and their impact on interpersonal communication. Methods: This study employed a systematic literature review method, searching Google Scholar and Taylor and Francis Online databases. Of the 125 articles identified initially, 15 articles met the inclusion criteria through a PRISMA-based selection process and were used as the primary data sources. The researcher chose this approach because it ensured a systematic and transparent process for identifying, evaluating, and synthesizing the literature. Results: The study results showed that chatbots generally provided a positive user experience, particularly in terms of ease of use, flexibility of access, speed, accuracy of information, and responsiveness to student needs. Conclusion: In addition to improving service quality, chatbots also contributed to operational efficiency on campus. However, there are several limitations, including the chatbot’s inability to understand complex or ambiguous questions, limitations in capturing conversational context and interaction history, and a high dependence on data completeness and accuracy, which can potentially result in inaccurate information. Implication: This study implies that libraries should implement chatbots as supportive tools alongside librarians to enhance service efficiency while preserving interpersonal communication for complex user needs.

Abstract

Digital philanthropic da’wah on social media has emerged as a significant force shaping charitable engagement among urban Muslim communities; yet, the psychological mechanisms through which media exposure translates into attitudinal change remain underexplored in the Indonesian context. Grounded in the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) theoretical framework, this study examines how exposure to digital philanthropic da’wah influences the charitable attitudes of urban Muslims in Bandar Lampung. Employing a convergent mixed-methods design, the study integrates a quantitative survey of 100 respondents drawn from the BAZNAS Bandar Lampung donor database with in-depth interviews of 15 purposively selected participants. Regression analysis reveals a significant positive effect of digital da’wah exposure on charitable attitudes (β = 0.581, R² = 0.338, F = 49.982, p < 0.001), with the strongest influence found in the cognitive dimension (R² = 32.4%), followed by affective (R² = 28.0%) and conative aspects (R² = 22.7%). Qualitative findings uncover five key themes: emotional resonance with content, credibility concerns, motivation for social engagement, heightened awareness, and perceived ease of donating. This study contributes a dual-perspective S-O-R analysis of Islamic digital philanthropy in a mid-sized Indonesian city, demonstrating that cognitive awareness is the primary mechanism of attitude formation while conative conversion remains constrained by institutional trust deficits. These findings offer strategic guidance for Islamic philanthropic organizations and digital da'i seeking to design credible, informationally rich, and behaviorally effective campaigns

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengembangan kemampuan public speaking dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa melalui kegiatan pramuka di SMP Negeri 3 Bunga Mayang, Lampung Utara. Rendahnya kepercayaan diri siswa seringkali ditandai dengan keraguan dalam menyampaikan pendapat dan ketidakmampuan berbicara di depan umum. Kegiatan pramuka sebagai pendidikan nonformal memiliki peran strategis dalam melatih keterampilan komunikasi dan keberanian tampil. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan public speaking dalam kegiatan pramuka dilakukan melalui berbagai aktivitas praktik langsung, seperti penyampaian materi, kegiatan berpidato, praktik berbicara di depan anggota pramuka, serta latihan individu dan kelompok yang mendorong siswa aktif dalam memimpin kegiatan. Kegiatan tersebut mampu meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa secara bertahap. Siswa menjadi lebih berani menyampaikan gagasan, mampu berinteraksi dengan baik, serta memiliki sikap positif terhadap dirinya. Dengan demikian, pengembangan public speaking melalui kegiatan pramuka berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa. Kegiatan pramuka dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu strategi efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan public speaking untuk membentuk kepercayaan diri siswa di lingkungan pendidikan. Melalui aktivitas yang terstruktur dan berkelanjutan, siswa tidak hanya dilatih untuk berani berbicara di depan umum, tetapi juga mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, bekerja sama, serta membentuk kepribadian yang baik.
