Abstract

Way in increasing the value of productivity in manufacturing and service companies are usually always faced with many constraints factors such as human, machine, material, information or energy. PT. Mandala Mulya Sakti Surabaya is one example of a fish processing manufacturing company experiencing problems related to productivity decline. The decrease of productivity occurred in July 2016 where the freezing unit of dori fish fillet with significant value so that handling effort is needed. This research uses Objective Matrix (OMAX) as an effort to evaluate the value of productivity by modeling and analyzing the productivity of freezing process of dori fish product, then the result of scientific analysis will be used as benchmark of productivity improvement in the future. Technical rather than the use of OMAX is to determine the criteria ratios, search data using questionnaires and utilize AHP methods to determine the weight, followed by the calculation of ratios and the determination of the value boundary, then the final stage is the creation of OMAX table to calculate the value of productivity. The results of this study indicate that the lowest productivity value occurred in July of 2016 of 5.08 and the highest in April 2017 amounted to 468.12. These results can be a reference in future productivity improvements

Abstract

Abstract

PT XYZ faces the problem of not achieving production targets in five departments, especially in the Finishing Department with an achievement of only 54%. This study aims to identify the most dominant waste and provide suggestions for improvement. The methods used include interviews and giving 8 waste questionnaires to five respondents. Then, the most dominant type of waste was determined using a Pareto diagram. After that, root cause analysis was conducted using the 5 Whys method and suggestions for improvement were given. The results show that the dominant type of waste is waiting, caused by waiting for materials as needed, process queues due to the limited number of workers, and difficulty finding materials in an unorganized work area. The proposed improvements include improving communication with suppliers regarding material specifications, improving labor schedules and providing counseling and training on the application of the 5 S/R culture. With these proposed improvements, it is expected to increase the achievement of production targets in the Finishing department of PT XYZ.

Abstract

This research article explains the product design and development optimization of multi feature engine carbon cleaning maintenance tools. The implementation of the Reverse Engineering method was integrated with VDI 2222 in the research process. The results of the optimal design and development of this tool obtained a component structure that was able to meet 14 types of consumer needs with a total tool cost of IDR 1.137.900 with a total tool weight of 6.9 kg. The results of the load test simulation concluded that the housing case was able to withstand the overall weight of the components that make up the tool. Depending on the liquid chemical used, the results of tool tests on a limited scale have proven to be able in save fuel consumption by ±12.5% per hour with engine workload which can also be reduced by 3,14%.

Abstract

The Indonesian government is encouraging the digitalization of public procurement to strengthen the use of domestic products and services, including competency certification. The LSP Batik is a professional certification institution that assesses the competencies of batik artisans and communities. They face challenges due to limited digitalization and restricted access to certification information. This project aims to develop an e-catalog design for the certification schemes and to enhance the understanding of digital procurement. A Participatory Design approach was adopted, actively engaging both end-users and key stakeholders across all phases of the co-creation and evaluation process. The project culminated in the development of an e-catalog integrated with the government's e-procurement portal, designed to modernize the services of LSP Batik. The design evaluation yielded high suitability scores for illustration and contrast (100%), followed by the completeness of information (88%), and branding and clarity of information (75%). Furthermore, user assessment indicated a high degree of comprehension in product search functionality (100%), while understanding of product comparison (63%) and showcase development (50%) was moderate, suggesting areas for future improvement.
