Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendiskripsikan penggunaan nursery rhymes untukmengembangkan karakter anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menganalisis tiga nursery rhymesyaitu “A Wise Old Owl”, “Baa Baa Black Sheep”, dan “The North Wond Doth Blow” denganmenggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tiganursery rhymesini merupakan media yang efektif untuk mendidik karakter anak. Nurseryrhymes ini dapat meningkatkan cinta anak didik kepada Tuhan dan ciptaannya. Metodeini juga mampu menjadikan orang yang rendah hati, hormat dan mengasihi orang lain.Selanjutnya, berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, penggunaan nursery rhymes di kelas dapatmengembangkan karakter anak-anak usia dini

Abstract

Abstrak        Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan latar belakang penciptaan lagu Terima Kasih Guruku, sebagai upaya merespon kebutuhan akan minimnya lagu yang berisikan penghargaan terhadap profesi guru di Indonesia.  Proses penciptaan dilakukan melalui tahapan membaca berbagai literature tentang guru, musik pop dan trend music zaman sekarang yang sesuai dengan generasi Z. Selain itu, ada inspirasi dari rasa terima kasih yang mendalam terhadap perjuangan dan pengorbanan guru selama masa sekolah yang membekas dalam. Pengetahuan yang didapat selama masa sekolah telah membuahkan kesuksesan di masa depan. Dalam belajar dan pembelajaran, salah satu penggunaan lagu Terima Kasih Guruku yaitu sebagai media dalam video pembelajaran e-learning yang dimiliki oleh UNY di dalam beberapa mata kuliah. Kata kunci: Lagu Terima Kasih Guruku, pop jazz, media pembelajaran e-learning    THE DESCRIPTION OF SONG COMPOSING OF TERIMA KASIH GURUKUAS THE BACKING SONG OF MP4 MEDIAIN E-LEARNING CLASSROOM Abstract        The purpose of this study is to describe the background and process of composing the Song Terima Kasih Guruku as a response to the needs of songs which contain about teachers, pop music and music trend today which match with Z generation. Besides that, there was such an important inspiration as deep grateful feeling to the struggle and sacrifice which had been done by teachers in school which stay in the heart. The knowledge which was acquired in the school give extra help in reaching successful life today. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu proses pengembangan kemampuan musikalitas guru di TK Panti Dewi Berbah Sleman sehingga kemampuan guru dalam bernyanyi dan mengiringi menjadi lebih optimal. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan April sampai November 2017 menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan, dengan prosedur perencanaan, pelaksanaan, penilaian hasil, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan musikalitas guru semakin berkembang. Hal ini tampak pada hasil penilaian mendapat kategori baik meliputi kemampuan dasar bernyanyi dengan komponen artikulasi, intonasi dan ritmis, serta kemampuan dasar mengiringi dengan komponen harmoni akord, irama, dan tangga nada. Dengan cara melatih guru memahami membaca notasi musik, peka terhadap nada, irama dan tempo serta mengiringi lagu menggunakan keyboard, tindakan ini telah berhasil membantu guru di TK Panti Dewi dalam mengembangkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan musikalitasnya.Kata kunci: pengembangan, kemampuan musikalitas, guru DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHERS’ MUSICAL ABILITY IN KINDERGARTEN PANTI DEWI BERBAH SLEMANAbstractThis study aims to assist the process of the development of teachers’ musical ability in kindergarten Panti Dewi Berbah Sleman so that the ability of teachers in singing and accompanying to be more optimal. The study was conducted from April to November 2017 using action research method, with planning procedures, implementation, results assessment and reflection. The results showed that the teachers’ musical abilities were growing. It can be seen from the result that it was categorised as good category in the basic ability to sing with articulation, intonation and rhythmic components and basic ability to accompany with chord, rhythm and cadence harmony components. Through training, teachers understand how to read music notes, sensitive to tone, rhythm, and tempo and use the keyboard while singing, this action has successfully helped teachers at Panti Dewi Kindergarten in developing and improving their musical ability.Keywords: development, musical ability, teachers

Abstract

Model pembelajaran merupakan bagian penting untuk mengembangkan kapabilitas musikal peserta didik. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran musik orkestra berbasis Student-Centered Learning: Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance (SCL-CMP). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Huberman meliputi pengumpulan data, kondensasi data, reduksi data, dan verifikasi/kesimpulan, serta didukung dengan penggunaan software NVivo 12 untuk pengorganisasian data. Hasilnya yang pertama adalah manfaat SCL-CMP dalam pembelajaran orkestra bagi peserta didik meliputi partitur musik orkestra dapat dijelaskan dengan detail, mendorong peserta didik untuk lebih aktif, karakter instrumen musik menjadi lebih mudah dipahami, dan permasalahan teknis dalam memainkan instrumen musik lebih mudah diatasi; kedua, daya tarik SCL-CMP dalam pembelajaran orkestra antara lain peserta didik memiliki waktu lebih banyak untuk berdiskusi, lebih berani berpendapat, dan mendiskusikan partitur musik secara kritis; ketiga , kendala yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran berbasis SCL-CMP antara lain sikap peserta didik yang malas dan pasif, dan kurangnya kesadaran pendidik terhadap kemajuan peserta didik; dan keempat, optimalisasi SCL-CMP dalam pembelajaran orkestra melalui upaya mengutamakan diskusi dalam pembelajaran, membagi kelompok alat musik menjadi beberapa kelompok, dan mencari solusi dari setiap permasalahan. Permasalahan dalam pembelajaran orkestra dapat dibahas secara mendalam beserta solusinya, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis model Student-Centered Learning-Comprehensive Musicianship Through Performance sangat cocok diterapkan dalam pembelajaran orkestra.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to identify Sophie's narcissistic behavior and to analyze its effects on her personality in Soman Chainani’s The School for Good and Evil (2013). This research applies Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis theory and Campbell & Crist’s narcissism theory to analyze the character's narcissistic behavior and its effects. This research used the qualitative method. The primary data source is Soman Chainani’s The School for Good and Evil published in 2013 by HarperCollins. In collecting the data, the writers read the novel, take notes on the important details, organize the data, and analyze the data that has been sorted using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis theory and Campbell & Crist's narcissism theory. The results of this study reveal that there are 24 data related to Sophie’s imbalanced personality and another 24 data about the effects of her narcissistic behavior. As shown in the data, Sophie is dominated by her id, which leads her to have narcissistic traits such as self-importance, antagonism, and a sense of entitlement. The effects of her narcissism are overconfidence, grandiosity, infidelity, aggression, mistrust, and emotional fragility. Sophie’s narcissism not only damages her relationship but also hinders her emotional and mental development. This study enables the readers to gain a deeper understanding of human psychology and how narcissism manifests and affects human behavior as seen through a literary text. Abstract

(Title: Social Values that are  Reflected Through the Female Characters of "Trifles" by Susan Glaspell: Sociology of Literature Study). This study aims to find and explain the social values in Trifles as reflected through the female characters in it, through the description of the social situation they face and also to analyze how the social situation influences all decisions and actions taken by those female characters. The results of this study are (1) female characters in Trifles have to face the society that tend to be prejudiced and underestimate the role of women, (2) They do not pay attention to their surroundings, and (3) they use certain appropriateness values to accept or reject others. The situation described above gives an influence on all decisions and actions taken by them, i.e. (1) they decide to take unlawful actions by removing evidence of murder, (2) withdrawing from the community, (3) doing vile deed that is committing murder.Keywords: sociology of literature, social values, play.

Abstract

Background: The demand for professionalism at work obliges librarians to have skills, not only related to library management but also foreign language mastery, especially English as an international language. One of library programs that need language mastery is library guiding service or library tours, which provides services by guiding library guests including those from foreign countries. To succeed the program, English mastery is undeniably useful to communicate with foreigners. Thus, the English Literature Study Program UNY conducted a community service program to improve the librarians’ English skills to serve international guests, which in itself will improve their quality, both locally and internationally. Methods: Workshop by providing several materials, namely Dealing with Guests, Giving Direction, Giving Information on Collections and Services, and role play which showcased the English language skills of the participants. Results: High score of the participants’ satisfaction related to the topic of workshop, materials, teaching method, communication, media, punctuality, and benefits, shows the relevance between the participants’ needs and the PKM team. Conclusions: Based on the evaluation results, the participants hoped that similar activities could be carried out regularly because the participants could feel the benefits directly.
