Abstract

Every year UNIMUDA Sorong welcomes new students and keeps promoting to attract more. The process generates a growing number of student data. On the other hand, the promotional strategy to attract new students faces obstacles such as generalization among locations, ineffective time, limited personnel to carry out promotions, and cost inefficiency. This study examines the new student data and university marketing strategies to optimize time, effort, and cost. It uses the K-Means method for data grouping and the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) for ranking the results of data grouping. The result of this research suggests that the location of promotion may be determined from the clustering process using the K-Means method. The silhouette coefficient test invalidates the data clustering, and the SAW method helps the ranking process to obtain a sequence of promotion locations. The ranking results reflect the predetermined decision table that directs promotion location selection according to the promotion strategy. The combination of the two methods helps to decide the location and marketing strategy to optimize time, effort, and cost. The results of this study may be used as a comparative reference for the management to decide the right promotion strategy based on the locations and student background.

Abstract

Indonesian higher education today is faced with serious challenges that will threaten the existence of some universities. An increasing international competition will require that universities take a progressive approach to attract enough students to ensure their survival. One way the universities must improve is in the quality of their administration management. While universities in Indonesia do not compare well internationally, steps can be taken to improve the quality. There are potential lessons to be learned from corporate experience in quality control management. The present study is aimed at achieving an alternative method, a hybrid model for managing and determining the proposed International class based on many criteria of academic performance in university. The model combines two different methods in decision support system: Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and linear weightage model, the proposed model uses the AHP pairwise comparisons and the measure scale to generate the weights for the criteria which are much better and guarantee more fairly preference of criteria. Findings show that applying the system as decision-support facility for the management has resulted in significant acceleration of planning procedures and implementation, raised the overall effectiveness with respect to the underlying methodology and ultimately enabled more efficient academic administration

Abstract

Evaluating vocational education teachers' performance is an important link of teaching  management and an important guarantee of improving teaching quality. In conducting teaching, research and community service, vocational education teachers should weight more on quality than quantity. In this context, individual habit reacts to the demanded jobs which are influenced by his/her knowledge; attitude, and skill. The aim of this study is to develop the vocational education teachers' performance quantitative appraisal and determine the evaluation index based on academic performance. Criteria for performance are: teaching load, publication, research, conferencing, consultancy, services, teaching attitude, teaching content, teaching method, and teaching  effect.  The Analytic  Hierarchy  Process (AHP)  and  PROMETHEE (Preference Ranking  Organisation METHod for Enrichment Evaluations) II analyses were used in the performance  appraisal. The findings show that the MCDM  approach is a viable tool in solving the teacher  selection decision problems. It allows the decision maker to rank the candidate alternatives more efficiently and easily.   Keywords: performance,   appraisal  method, vocational education teacher, analytic hierarchy process, PROMETHEE II

Abstract

This study aims to develop and determine the feasibility of electronic modules or e-modules based on the project based learning (PBL) method in Basic Programming Subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Japara Kuningan, West Java. This study uses research and development methods. The development procedure adopts the Lee and Owens model with four stages, namely: analysis stage, design stage, developing and implementation stage, and evaluation stage. At the evaluation stage several stages are carried out, namely: Alpha test to determine the validity of product feasibility conducted by material experts and design expert. Then proceed with a beta test carried out to one group. The research subjects were students of class X majoring in Multimedia. The instrument used in this research is a validation sheet and questionnaire sheet. The results of the qualitative data will be converted into quantitative data using a scale from 1 to 4, then the rating scale is converted to determine the feasibility of the project based learning e-module PBL. The results show that the appraisal of the feasibility of the product gets a decent feasibility from the design expert and is very feasible from the material expert. Evaluation on beta tests found that 8.6% considered quite feasible, 71.4% said it was feasible, and 20% said it was very feasible.

Abstract

The present work determines the presence in the web 2.0 that twenty universities had through their educational portals. The universities are selected according to the Webometrics ranking (the ten best located in Indonesia and the best located worldwide) to identify what Web 2.0 tools they use. This study explores the educational portals of the twenty selected universities to determine which Web 2.0 tools they use and variables of the tools found will be assessed. The  study only considers those Web 2.0 tools which are linked to the websites of universities. Of the two most used tools, the relevant indicators are quantified from Youtube "Subscribers" and "Views " and Twitter "tweets" following", and "followers". Afterward, the results are shown and analyzed to establish possible relationships between the indicators of each tool. The results reflect the heterogeneous and, in many cases, polarized presence that universities had on web 2.0 through their educational portals. We hope that the work will help universities have a verifiable reference instrument to develop their academic communication strategies through these tools on the way to a 2.0 university model.

Abstract

In the implementation of submitting reports on student learning outcomes both daily scores, midterm exam scores, and final semester exam scores still use e-reports. thus causing a lack of interest in student learning because learning outcomes cannot be obtained by students/parents in an updated manner. Parents experience difficulties in knowing their children's learning outcomes because parents only get their children's learning results in the middle of the semester and the end of the semester. Schools also experience difficulties, namely: in archival storage. Related to these conditions, good cooperation is created for the application of the SIHABEL software Android-Based Learning Outcomes Evaluation Report as an information system for reporting learning outcomes so that later the reporting process will run effectively. The method used in this research is R&D (Research and Development) version 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Based on the results of this product test it can be concluded that the SIHABEL software Evaluation of Android-Based Learning Outcomes Reports helps schools in carrying out student learning outcomes reporting effectively and can provide the information needed by stakeholders quickly and validly
