Abstract

The research is titled "Motivation of Kagami Taiga Being a Basketball Player In Manga Kuroko no Basuke created by Tadatoshi Fujimaki". The formulation of the problem in this study examines the motivation and efforts of Kagami Taiga character to realize his dream of becoming a famous basketball player. The theory used in this research is the theory of literary psychology and motivation theory by Petri (in Risnawita, 2010: 83-85). Data collection method used is literature study method with note technique. Data analysis method used is qualitative method with qualitative technique. Method of presentation of data analysis result is informal method. The results of this study indicate that the motivation of the character Kagami Taiga become famous basketball players can be divided into two, namely intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. His intrinsic motivation is his love of basketball, his confidence in his abilities, and the desire to show basketball skills. Extrinsic motivation is the encouragement of his friends who emerged when a friendship relationship in playing basketball (peer group). The effort by Kagami Taiga to be a famous basketball player is to become a core member of the team, winning match training, winning matches, and trying to win the final.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to find out the changes between the short story Yabu no Naka by Akutagawa Ryunosuke into the film Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa in terms of characters and background of the place. This study uses descriptive method of the vehicle switch analysis. Technical analysis of the data used in this study is to read, understand, analyze, compare, analyze changes between the short story Yabu no Naka by Akutagawa Ryunosuke into the film Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa. Results of the discussion in this study indicate that there are changes that occur in the short story Yabu no Naka work of Ryunosuke Akutagawa once into the film Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa. Shape changes that occur are: 1) cutting which includes the reduction of character and background subtraction place there on the short story Yabu no Naka by Akutagawa Ryunosuke 2) the addition that includes the addition of a character and development background in the film Rashomon by Akira Kurosawa.

Abstract

This research is entitled “Fashion Representation of Taisho-Showa Era in Kaze Tachinu Animation Film by Hayao Miyazaki”. Fashion style transition from wasou to yosou was found in Taisho-Showa Era. This research aims to discover the form, function, and meaning of fashion in the Taisho-Showa era which are depicted in the film. This research used literature study method and the referral method for the data accumulation, descriptive analysis method for data analysis and for analysis results presented with informal method. For the theory, this research used literary anthropology theory by Poyatos (2008), fashion form theory by Pendergast and Tom (2004), fashion function theory by Barnard (1996), and semiotics theory by Barthes (1964). Based on the analysis results, can be seen that fashion’s form that represent in Taisho-Showa era are divided into two category, first is wasou which consists of hakama, haori, kimono, mandarin shirt, obi, shimada, comb, geta, tabi, and zori, and the second one is yosou that consists of men’s suit, stockings, trench coat, men’s hats, short hair for woman, waved hair for woman, clutch purse, patent leather shoes, and high heeled boots. For the fashion’s function that found in this research are 1) protection function; 2) politeness and concealment function; 3) communication function; 4) individualistic expression; 5) social worth or status; 6) economic worth or status; 7) magical-religious condition; and 8) recreational functions. And for the fashion’s meaning in the Taisho-Showa era, in denotation is refers to the form and design of fashion, while the connotation of fashion is formed by the influence of social and cultural values in Japanese society.

Abstract

This article examines the ideology of Shimaki Kensaku in the short story Akagaeru. This study is qualitative research by applying the hermeneutic method. This study uses the semiology theory of Roland Barthes with a two-level sign interpretation model. The results of the study show that at the language level, the signifier of akagaeru refers to the signified of reddish-brown type of frog endemic to Japan. The signified at the language level become the signifier of connotation at the myth level which refers to the signified of connotation namely 1) return to the original Japanese ideology; 2) the failure of communist ideology to develop in Japan; 3) acceptance of the destruction of communist ideology in Japan; and 4) persistence of admiration for communist ideology. These signified of connotations form a myth that is connected with Shimaki Kensaku's ideology, namely suichoku tenk? 'vertical tenk?'

Abstract

The title of this paper is “The Stigma of Ataru in film Ataru “The First love and The Last Kill” by Takeharu Sakurai”. The purpose of this paper is to knowing the symptoms of autisme and stigma of people with autisme. The theory that used in this paper are theory of literary sociology refers to Wellek and Warren (via Wiyatmi (1994)), theory of symptoms of autisme refers to Davison (2006), theory of stigma social refers to Rahman (2013), and theory of semiotic refers to Danesi (2011). Data collected by reference technique, and analysed data using deskriptif analisys method. Presentation of the results of data is analyzed by informal method. The results of this research is show some symptoms of autism in Ataru characterized by; 1) persistence defisit in social interaction; 2) persistent deficits in communication; 3) restricterd, repetitive patterns of behavior, interest or activities. There are three forms of stigma in Ataru are; 1) Labeling; 2) stereotype; 3) separation.

Abstract

The tittle of this research was “Forming Context of Pacifism Discourse in Hotaru no Haka anime by Isao Takahata”. The purpose of this research to find out the forming context of pacifism discourse in Hotaru no Haka anime by Isao Takahata. Data colletion method in this research was literature study method. The data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis method and informal method. The theory applied in this research was critical discourse analysis by Van Dijk (1988). The result in this research were 1) novelist and anime director are victims of war; 2) prohibition of war in article 9 of the Japanese Constitution and; 3) Japan signed the treaty of San Francisco.

Abstract

The research was titled "The Behavior of Orphanage Children in the Drama Ashita, Mama ga Inai by Saya Matsuda". Research aims to know the living environment of the orphanage children, behavior of orphanage children at the time of trial before and after the trial with the adoptive parents. The study used literary psychology theory from Endaswara and the theory of behaviorism of B. F Skinner. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative. The results of the analyzing show orphanage children’s simply life. being the countryside and the orphanage living the life with responsibility. The orphanage children’s behavior are describes as having undergone trials with new adoptive parents, a changes due to the uncomfortable feeling of affection given by adoptive parents. The cause of the inconvenience is because the children had previously suffered trauma after being abandoned by their biological parents.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Variety Changes in the Ecranization of the Death Note Manga by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata into the Death Note Drama by Inomata Ryuichi". The purpose of this study is to provide an understanding of ecranization with sources in the form of manga related to changes in intrinsic elements. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The data sources used in this study are the Manga Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba & Takeshi Obata and Drama Death Note by Inomata Ryuichi. The theory used in this research is Ecranization Theory proposed by Eneste and Structural Theory by Nurgiyantoro. The results of this study indicate that there is a change in the intrinsic elements contained in the manga into drama. These changes are in the form of varied changes that occur in the plot, characters, and setting of the place. These varied changes aim to change the story, atmosphere, impression, role, and adjust production costs.

Abstract

Japanese society in everyday life cannot be separated from relations of communication between members of the community itselft. Based on the phenomenon of the society, it can be ascertained that courtesy is the most important thing in it. For that reason, the Japanese society functioning courtesy to achieve a good and communicative speech. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the functions of courtesy attached that contained in Japanese speech based on the theory of functions proposed by Leech. The data used in this study is novel titled Beautiful Life by Eriko Kitagawa. Some functions of courtesy such inhibitions were found in this study is to express a greeting, excited feelings, prise and offering something.

Abstract

Wacana anti imperialisme menjadi salah satu tema yang diangkat dalam karya sastra oleh sastrawan yang berafiliasi dengan kesusastraan proletar di Jepang, termasuk Kobayashi Takiji. Di dalam cerpen Kyuuchou no Negai, disajikan narasi sebagai bentuk pandangan dunia pengarang dari Kobayashi Takiji terkait dengan wacana anti imperialisme. Guna mengkaji wacana anti imperialisme dalam cerpen Kyuuchou no Negai pada tahap pengumpulan data diterapkan metode kajian pustaka, pada tahap analisis data diterapkan metode analisis isi, dan pada tahap penyajian hasil analisis data diterapkan metode informal. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa ideologi anti imperialisme disajikan dalam wacana 1) biaya perang yang tinggi menciptakan kemelaratan bagi masyarakat Jepang; 2) masyarakat dituntut mendukung imperialisme sebagai bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat; 3) imperialisme bertentangan dengan nilai kemanusian; dan 4) imperialisme Jepang dapat memicu revolusi di dalam negeri.
