Abstract

Women are the most interesting objects to be used as a discussing subject, research topics, or a source of inspiration for the author in the field of arts and literature. However, there is a phenomenon which is inversely proportional to that, in everyday life, in a society, that embraces patriarchal system, which is women are often ignored, diminished, even considered unimportant. The phenomenon experienced by the women also occurs in Indonesian and Japanese society that embrace patriarchal system.  Speaking about the position of women as a reflection of society in Indonesia and Japan can be seen through literature, as in poetry. One genre of literature that contains the overflow of feelings, imagination, and the poet’s mind cannot be separated from the part of the community. Indeed, the creation of a poem was influenced by the environment where the poet was born and lived. Therefore, throughout the poetry, the ideology of community where the poets came can be revealed, especially in comparing the love poetry from the two countries. The objects of the study are love poetries by WS Rendra and Shuntaro Tanikawa. This study uses the comparative method, the approach of comparative literature, and feminist theory. Throughout the study of comparative literature between WS Rendra and Shuntaro Tanikawa’s love poetries, it is expected that the public would know the position of women in the view of the poet in Indonesia and Japan society.

Abstract

Haiku is one of traditional Japanese poetries. The characteristic of haiku are short, imagistic and make people connected tonature. Traditional haikuhave 17 short sounds divided into three lines of 5-7-5 syllables patern. Element of nature that mostly usedin haiku are flower, bird, snow, mountain, and wind. Every year the seasons always change accordingly spring season, summer season, autumn season, and winter season. Element of nature that represent in haiku is called Kigo. Through kigo we can fell the essential and aesthetics of haiku. One of the element nature is wind (kaze). Basically Japanese people enjoy the wind that blows in every seasons based on the four seasons.It shows that there are mutual relationship between nature and literature.

Abstract

The title of this research is “Mono no Aware in Comic entitled Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto”. This research aims to analyze the depiction of mono no aware and the character’s reaction about the depiction of mono no aware in a comic entitled Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto. The theories that are used for analyzing are theory of mono no aware by Norinaga (1926) and theory of comic by McCloud (2006). The results of this research are the depiction of mono no aware in comic entitled Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto are depicted by event between people who show deep emotions and nature conditions. The character’s reaction about the depiction of mono no aware are negative and positive.

Abstract

The title of this study is “The Influence of Parenting Mother Against The Personality Development of Character Hikaru Narumi and Hiro Narumi in Manga entitled Piece by Ashihara Hinako”. The aims of this study to analyze and explain the influence of parenting mother against the personality development of character Hikaru Narumi and Hiro Narumi in manga entitled Piece by Ashihara Hinako. The theories that are used for analyzing are literary psychology by Roekhan (2008), parenting parents style by Hurlock (2011), personality development by Erickson (2011), and semiotics by Danesi (2010). The results of this study showed that Risako Narumi used two parenting style to Hikaru Narumi and Hiro Narumi pervaded authoritarian parenting and permissive parenting. From authoritarian parenting that used by Risako resulted her sons have personally closed (introvert), selfish and indifferent. While permissive parenting that used by Risako resulted her sons be unable to determine a good or bad choice and not consistent.

Abstract

This research en titled "mono no aware in manga koizora written by Ibuki Haneda". The main purpose of this research is to discover the sadness value of mono no aware and the attitude of the characters in dealing with mono no aware. Several theories that are used  in this research include literature psychology theory proposed by Freud (2008) and semiotics theory proposed by Danesi (2010). The used method to analyse data in the research is descriptive method. The result of this research indicates that the value of mono no aware which is included in the manga encompasses 1) sadness; 2) regret; and 3) compassion,. The attitudes shown by the characters in dealing with mono no aware are sincere, 1) accepting the fate; 2) live with the fate; 3) do not dissolved in sadness; 4) emphaty; 5) support; 6) inspire; 7) care; 8) anger; and 9) calm.

Abstract

This study is entitled " Motivation of Character Takako Otomichi, as a Superior Policewoman Featured in Kogoeru Kiba Novel written by Asa Nonami". This study aims to determine the psychological state and the motivation of Takako Otomichi as the main character in the novel to become a superior policewoman in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The theory used in this research is the Sigmund Freud's theory of psychoanalysis (in Suryabrata, 1988:145-1490 as well as Abraham Maslow’s theory of Motivation needs (in Sutrisno, 2009:122-124). The method used in analyzing the data is descriptive analysis method. As the results of the analysis, the psychology of Takako Otomichi which consisted of the id, ego and superego are in balance. The Id of Takako Otomichi contains her desire to become a superior policewoman, the ego controls the id while superego acts according to the existing norms.In this study, Takako Otomichi as the main character is motivated by five levels of needs: firstly (1) Physiological need makes Takako Otomichi works as a policewoman in order to earn a living so that she can meet her basic needs. Secondly (2) The need for security encourages her to join the police force, therefore Takako Otomichi can get various facilities such as health insurance and annuities. Thirdly (3) The need for social relationship encourages Takako Otomichi to marry the man of her choice. Fourthly (4) The need for recognition makes Takako Otomichi to be motivated to pursue the perpetrators, thus her success can be recognized by her colleagues. The fifth (5) The need for self-actualization encourages Takako Otomichi to work hard and diligently, so that she can be a reliable police detective who devotes her ability for public safety.

Abstract

The title of this research is “The Myth of Kokkuri san, Ushi no Koku Mairi, Shinrei Shashin and Hangonko Game in Comic entitled Jigoku Sensei Nube by Makura Shou and Okano Takeshi”. This research aims to analyze the form and the myth of Kokkuri san, ushi no koku mairi, shinrei shashin and hangonko game in a comic entitled Jigoku Sensei Nube by Makura Shou and Okano Takeshi. The theories that are used for analyzing are literary anthropology by Endraswara (2008) and semiotics by Danesi (2010). The results of this research are the games like Kokkuri san, ushi no koku mairi, shinrei shashin and hangonko were adapted from another countries and need equipment to play the games. From the myth, that four games have connection with supernatural creatures and have negative effects if someone play them.

Abstract

The title of this research is “Pedophilia in Comic Toriko Aigan Shoujo by Mashin Osakabe”. The aims of this research are to describe the characteristic of pedophilia sexual disorders suffered by Shiren, as well as the impact that occurred on Shinju as a victim of pedophilia in Mashin Osakabe’s Toriko Aigan Shoujo comic. The theories that have been used are Endaswara’s Psychological Psychology (2010), Schmidth’s Pedophilia theory (2014) and Danesi’s Semiotic theory (2011). Based on the results, Takamagahara Shiren is an adult male who experiences one type of sexual disorder, namely pedophilia. Characteristics of pedophile sexual disorders in Shiren's character based on three dimensions, namely 1). Physiological dimensions are: heterosexual pedophiles and adult men who like a little girl; 2). The psychological dimension is: having a cruel and stubborn character, which can be seen from his behavior, uses various ways to be able to have sex with Shinju. In addition, Shiren's character is also ambitious take revenge on his mother by hurting Shinju; 3). The dimensions of sociology is: Shiren who closes himself to sociaty and dislikes social interaction. The impact experienced by Shinju as a pedophile victims occurred in the physical and psychological. The impact on the physical character of Shinju is the presence of injuries to the body. The impact of pedophilia on the psychology of Shinju are sexual addiction or hypersex, feeling self worthless, feeling ashamed and guilty that she often tries to commit suicide.

Abstract

This research describes the meanings and message contained in the Himawari songs by Kawasaki Futoshi and Akimoto Yasushi. The data analyzed using descriptive analysis method. This research used the theory of semiotics by Riffaterre (1978) and the theory of moral by Nurgiyantoro (1995). Based on the analysis, the meaning of Himawari song by Kawasaki Futoshi are indicates the spirit to endure our life. Meanwhile, the meaning of Himawari song by Akimoto Yasushi are indicates the hopes that had grown in ourselves and the struggle to achieve a bright future. The messages contained in both Himawari lyrics are divided into two, namely: explicit and implicit.

Abstract

The title of this research is “The Feminist Literary Criticism in Kaich? wa Meido-Sama! by Hiro Fujiwara”. This research focuses on two problems: how the feminism is shown in Kaich? wa Meido-Sama! by Hiro Fujiwara and how is the main character’s feminism ideology influence another character in the comic. Methods used in this research is descriptive analysis method and the informal method. The theories used are feminism theory by Lorber (1997) and semiotics by Danesi (2011). The analysis result shows that feminisms ideology that revealed in the comics is liberal feminism, such as women also can be physically strong, rational and using men’s language; women as a leader; women were not inferior; and social discrimination against women. Liberal feminism ideology of the main character has positive and negative influences to another character in the comic. The positive influences show on some attitudes from characters such as Shotaro Kano and Tora Igarashi towards women and also female and male students relation. The negative influence shows in the dependence female students on the female character, Misaki Ayuzawa.
